What Is Haute couture
Tumblr media
Haute couture (from French Haute Couture, pronounced [ot kuty]) 12 is the term used to describe the creation of high-end custom-made clothing. "Haute couture" refers to custom-made, handcrafted clothing that is manufactured entirely by hand, with minimal sewing machine involvement, from start to finish, using high-end, expensive, and uncommon fabrics. It's made with meticulous attention to detail and finished by the most trained and experienced seamstresses, who frequently employ time-consuming manual techniques.
The word couture literally means "tailoring," although it can also mean "fashion," "sewing," or "dressmaking."
3 It's also a typical abbreviation for haute couture, and it's the same thing in spirit. 4 "High" is the direct translation of haute. A haute couture garment is usually manufactured for a specific client, and it is customized to the wearer's measurements and body positions. 3 Haute couture clothing are claimed to be "priceless" because of the amount of work, money, and expertise that goes into each finished piece. Not all couture designs are meant to be sold; others are created specifically for the runway, much like an art display.
The phrase was first applied to Englishman Charles Frederick Worth's work, which was created in Paris in the mid-nineteenth century.
5 In modern France, the term "haute couture" is a trademark that can only be used by businesses who meet particular criteria. In a broader sense, however, the phrase refers to custom-made fashion garments made in Paris or other fashion capitals such as London, Milan, New York, or Tokyo.

Alexander McQueen's graffiti campaign and collection are unveiled.
Tumblr media
Image: McQueen Courtesy Graffiti guerrilla marketing campaign
Alexander McQueen's most recent ad campaign does not feature supermodels in ultra-polished looks. Instead, a graffiti campaign imitating a spray-painted emblem on concrete buildings, buses, the subway, and pavements across major fashion capitals London, Paris, New York, and Milan is used as a guerilla marketing strategy.
The graffiti is part of the McQueen Graffiti collection, which includes everything from leather items to t-shirts and ready-to-wear with the brand's trademark embossed as brushstrokes.
According to WWD, the firm claimed its new collection will be a part of its story for the foreseeable future, with retail pricing starting at 65 pounds for a pair of knitted socks and 2,990 pounds for a hybrid parka coat. The graffiti insignia is put on a little skull bag, which costs 540 pounds.

Kendall Jenner capsule collection for About You. By Zoey Grossman
For the very first time, German e-tailer About You has teamed up with Kendall Jenner to develop a limited-edition summer capsule collection that will be available for only 72 hours.
The 11-piece capsule, which debuted on July 25, features a mix of shirts, tops, shorts, cropped jumpers, a slip dress, and a bikini, as well as “cool necessities with an upgraded touch.”
The designs are inspired by Jenner's own style, which has a 175 million Instagram followers, and each has a unique code that incorporates her birthday: 11/03.
“I adore the fundamentals. You can mix and match any of the pieces in the collection. "And the items are numbered according to my birthdate," Jenner remarked at the collection's LA photoshoot.
The capsule will be accessible in all 23 markets where About You operates, making it the company's first international capsule collection. Prices range from 39.90 euros to 79.90 euros for sizes 34 to 44 or XS-XXL.
This is the first of two capsule collections in the works, with the second set to debut in autumn/winter 2021.
About You, which was launched in Germany in 2014, has been rapidly expanding across Europe in recent years as a result of the faster market move to online channels.
The firm raised 842 million euros in its Frankfurt IPO in June, valued at just under 4 billion euros, to help develop its offering internationally, expand its software-as-a-service (SaaS), and reinforce its tech infrastructure and distribution centers.
The company announced a 57 percent growth in net revenues to 1.17 billion euros in the year to February.
