I'm on the younger end of Gen Z, and even though I am not a "party person" this still feels relatable. Maybe I just didn't have the opportunities, or my life was stricter than most, but this bleak dystopia only feels slightly less bleak because the friends I found in college happened to enjoy doing a weekly thing together.

But I don't network at clubs, I don't know where to go to party even if I wanted to. Every one of my friends turned 21 with a "wahoo" and nothing more. We watched Dune (1984) for my 21st and ate dirt cakes. That was probably more than other people.

Maybe this is the wrong platform to pose this question given the average tumblr user but

Is it just me or did our generation (those of is who are currently 20-30 ish) just not get the opportunity to be young in the 'standard' sense?

Like, everyone I talk to who's over 40 has all their wild stories about their teens and 20s, being young and dumb, and then I talk to my friends and coworkers and classmates, and we just... dont.

I got a laptop with Windows 11 for an IT course so I can get certified, and doing the first time device set-up for it made me want to commit unspeakable violence

Windows 11 should not exist, no one should use it for any reason, it puts ads in the file explorer and has made it so file searches are also web searches and this cannot be turned off except through registry editing. Whoever is responsible for those decisions should be killed, full stop.

Switch to linux, it's free and it's good.

But at the same time, I'm going into a teaching career in the age where my options are pirate, stream, or play the movies you and your parents own
