Aurelia: Can we put your ego aside for one moment? Something important has happened. Jack: If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot now.

I'm back on my Troy/Rhys BS
=====================
Something bumped Rhys’s elbow, jostling his drink. He looked just in time to see a tall, lanky figure moving past him. They didn’t even excuse themselves. Rhys watched as they drifted aimlessly through the gallery before they all but collapsed against a pillar, using the structure to lean their weight on. A cigarette and lighter appeared in their hands. Beneath the shock of their dark hair, which was parted to the side and tumbled over their brow, Rhys watched as they slid the cigarette into their mouth and lit the end of it. Their face was modded, lines that jutted from the edges of their mouth bisecting their cheeks, and they wore a sharp-cut black blazer with a sole button. It was closed at their midsection, showing off a scant amount of chest and abs. The movement of lighting up made their sleeves draw back from their wrists. Rhys caught a glimpse of a metallic hand, the other one tattooed in swirling red ink.
That was enough to break Rhys out of his thoughts of Handsome Jack. This stranger seemed a bit on the douchebag side, but was attractive in their own way. If Rhys had a type, and he thought he most certainly did, this person was it. At least in theory.
In the group he was currently mingling with, none of which he knew any actual names from, a woman leaned over to Rhys.
“That’s the artist on display tonight,” she told him. Her tone was hushed, as if it were some big secret she was trying to keep only between them. Rhys thought she might’ve been just a tad of a fangirl. “I want to go over and say hi to him, but I’m nervous. What if he ignores me?”
Considering the man had bumped into Rhys and not apologized, he thought that was likely. Not that he voiced his opinion.
“What’s his name again? Rhys asked, slurping at his martini.
The woman scoffed. “Troy Calypso, the reason we’re here in the first place? Honestly, they let anyone into these openings these days.”
Rhys wasn’t going to point out that he wasn’t just anybody. He was fixated on Troy now. The man smoked as if he had no concern of being told he couldn’t indoors, drawing on the cigarette before letting slow clouds of smoke out, which billowed above him before dissipating. At one point Rhys realized Troy had lifted his head and his gaze had locked on him. Frozen by the look, Rhys stared back, unable to help himself. The glint he saw in that gaze was crystal blue, alluring. It brought his thoughts back to Jack, with his heterochromatic eye of the same hue. Rhys was the first to look away. He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts.
The problem was, they wouldn’t clear.
