There isn’t enough art of Melkor’s babies and I’m gonna fix that. I liked designing them since I could really exaggerate their features. 

Ancalagon is the biggest, so he should be super muscular and tough looking. He’s basically Drogon on steroids. He’s a big baby too, so whenever Melkor sends him to his crater as punishment for eating half of the army, he huffs and tears into a side of a mountain. He’s Mairon’s favorite.

Scatha is basically a giant snake, but I made him pale with a dark face to make him look menacing. He also looks dirty all the time, therefor, he gets the most baths. He’s 90% angst, the other 10% is hunger. He loves his two dads secretly but always gives them a hard time. He and Mairon always clash because they’re too similar. He likes Thuringwethil a lot.

Last is Glaurung. He’s such a suck up to Melkor. He is the first of the dragons and will remind everyone about it. He gets jealous so easily, especially when he sees Mairon and Melkor together. Because he’s Melkor’s first project he kind of messed it up. He wanted a big, spikey dragon with massive jaws and and endless thirst for blood. Instead, he got a pudgy, rocky dragon with a big mouth and an endless thirst for Melkor’s attention. One time, he destroyed on of their bases, so when he got scolded, he would take in those few moments of Melkor directing all of his attention to him. Sadly, he did it so much that Melekor believed that his scoldings weren’t working, so he had Mairon do it.

Glaurung never acted out again.

BONUS:

Because of his massive jaws, a lot of corpses and weapons get stuck in his teeth frequently. Let’s just say, he’s also the reason why “dragon breath” became a popular saying. Like how normal people wash their cars or groom their horses, Melekor has to brush his baby’s teeth. Scatha only has like 2, and Ancalagon is too big.
