Modern Writing Advice: It's good to be brief, but make sure to properly describe your characters nonetheless.
Dumas: Let's cut the description short and just say he was a young man.
Every 21st century piece of writing advice: Make us CARE about the character from page 1! Make us empathize with them! Make them interesting and different but still relatable and likable!
Every piece of classic literature: Hi. It's me. The bland everyman whose only purpose is to tell you this story. I have no actual personality. Here's the story of the time I encountered the worst people I ever met in my life. But first, ten pages of description about the place in which I met them.

When I had my cafe I would aloud leashed pets in the place since it was an open area.
It astounded me the amount of people who pretended to come inside and let their animals LOOSE ON THE ESTABLISHMENT. "Oh, they behave perfectly!" like I'd care, let believe it!
I had to deny service to a woman who twice brought to large, not leashed dogs and let them roam as she had coffee. She was astonished because she was "sitting at one of the tables by the street, so it shouldn't bother me!"
Nothing turns me into a Karen like non-service animals in random establishments.
And before you say “woah Study you don’t know what animal is a service animal just by looking at them.” I’m talking about when I’m in a cafe and I look at an animal and say “oh is he a service animal? :)” and the owners say “no :)” GET HIM TF OUT OF HERE THEN?!

Wind will always willow your cape in the right direction. There will always be a drowned scream of surprise when you walk in. Ensure there is a beggar you can show magnanimous mercy to or a disruptive scoundrel you can put in his place.
Varying rates on jobs within enemy lairs. Will not do birthday parties o weddings.
DnD character idea: an arcane trickster rogue with the Magic Initiate feat to get Thamataurgy as well as having Gust and Mage Hand. He is not an adventurer per se, he us a companion for hire who ensures your dramatic entrance is epic.

I don't want them extinct, but no amount of grandstanding about how important mosquitos are to the ecosystem will ever induce me to like them.

As a rule of thumb, light up your oven the second you suspect you might cook.
getting big 45 minute vibes from this 15 minute recipe
#and then just toss toughly chopped veggies and one chicken breast to the oven and call it a day#you didn't make the recipe you craved#and having the oven lit tends to disuade you from eating poorly

Has it ever happened to you to feel ethereal? To feel present but not anchored, as if the faintest breeze could scripts you off the world.
To feel detached, like you cannot hold anything, devoid of hope or despair. I sometimes feel like roaming around anywhere forever, to lose myself in myself and be the loneliest anyone has ever been but still not feel alone by virtue of barely feeling. To be aware but uncaring to all.
Dont like feeling that way.
