Hi! Love Your Worldbuilding, I just wanted to ask what sort of sounds snulgs (hope I'm spelling that correctly) make to communicate, as I assume they communicate through sound bc in one post you labelled their 'neck' area as a chatter box.
Thank you so muuuuch!!! Also indeed they do communicate through sound. Their voice organs are vaguely similar to those of Earthly birds. So they can create a whole range of sounds even without the use of external structures to shape the sound. When creating especially loud noises, their middle segments can vibrate or even inflate a little.
Their languages consist of chirps, hums and letters hardly to be pronounced by humans. Although if they were to meet a human, they would be able to learn our language without too much difficulty.

They have no fur or different kind of covering, just an sticky, amphibian-esque skin which comes in plenty of colors and patterns, mostly greens, blues and yellows. Sometimes they put a sort of temporary tattoo in shape of leaves or just straight up stick leaves and various plant fibers on themselves for individualization and accessories :3
Group of Snulgs
This group is searching for one of their own that seems to have gotten a little lost in these fields of wind plants. While they plan out a safe way to go about their search, big wind plants spin their leafs with force periodically, dispersing their spores into the air, which the combined gust of many spinning plants pushes on to new places.

On Ogninda, plants are super evolved and intricate and Snulgs being crafty and curious lil critters they are have taken advantage of that by breeding and cultivating them into new forms that benefit them in all sorts of ways, one of the obvious ones being for sustenance. All Snulg settlements have some kinds of fancy cultivated plants around that help them survive or be used as tools. Jamjuice pod is just one of them, often found in bigger settlements.

The base of their snail-like "foot" is very flexible and prehensile, kinda like a big prehensile lip or a tentacle, together with the stickyness, they can form a little cup shape that's strong enough to hold tools and interact the world with

So incredibly cool

The Monoculi (informally dubbed ‘peebs’) are not exactly a new species from me, but they’ve gone through a pretty drastic redesign since I last posted anything about them. These are a spacefaring species from the same universe as birgworld! Details under the cut.
The Monoculi are so-called for the large compound eye that comprises the “head”. The densely packed ommatidia allow for crisp image resolution, and a variation in the depth of the lenses give the eye a range of acuity from only a few feet along the lower half to hundreds of meters along the top. Monoculi are nocturnal creatures which evolved to navigate complex cave systems by day and tangled branches by night; they have good depth perception and low-light vision but are nearly blind in regular daylight, and cannot perceive color.
The Mono homeworld is peculiar for the presence of a ring, the remnants of two moons which collided early in the planet’s history and bombarded the surface with chunks of space rock long after the planet’s crust had cooled. The result is an unusual abundance of heavy metals in the environment. Iridium, a prohibitively rare mineral on earth, comprises orange-yellow compound which carries oxygen through a Monoculus’s veins. The ring itself also has drastic effects on seasonal surface temperatures, though as on birgworld, life there has adapted accordingly.
Monoculi molt to grow like earth arthropods, but they only do so one segment at a time. A newborn larvae, one of 2 - 5 siblings, will remain soft and aquatic for about 8 months, until it loses its gills and hardens for the first time. They do not begin growing the first proper body segment until the thorax is as large as an adult’s. Molting and mating are both intimately tied to mineral pools found deep in their ancestral cave system. Without them, a molt will invariably fail and lead to severe health complications. Monoculi are hermaphrodites, and mate by pressing the gonopores (small openings under the first pair of arms) against the soft carapace of a first - third instar body segment, fresh after molting. The spawn will bore directly into the segment and trigger its transformation into a reproductive segment, which falls off after young are produced.
These sophonts are relatively large and long lived, with 200+ year old individuals sporting nearly 20 body segments not unheard of. They are also well into their space age, with a once-thriving space tourism industry buckled by a massive recession in recent decades. Rumour has it that several of the abandoned exoplanetary retreats still harbor stranded staff… but the company that built them dissolved and nobody has scraped up to funds for a rescue mission. They avoid contact with other sophonts, with the exception of the swimslugs, with whom they maintain a friendly cultural and technological exchange.

gorgeous alien landscape!!!!
Sinedenian wetlands 🐠🌾 Deep in the lands of the continent, lie many twisting rivers, lakes, temporary and permanent, with floods and rains they flow into one another, basking in the warm starlight and soaking it in like a sponge. Mixing all kinds of life, this crazy cocktail of all the living would drive any ecologist crazy, but for life on Sinedey its the norm, and any creature you see is ready for a sudden change of residency. So as this morning is perfectly normal, as the star slowly rises on the horizon, giving warmth to each little and big thing in here, giving them a fresh start for a new day. A pair of Yachtnik Rinsers slowly barges through the floaty boat vegetation and the young Khloppy tree thickets. They are ready for having their breakfast consisting of water rich with plankton of all kinds, these warm blooming waters provide plenty of food for even such 10 meter long giants. Yachtniks are members of an especially ancient taxa of sinedenian animals, that are characterized by their rows of false legs on their abdomen, only first two and the last one pairs of legs are their true limbs. They get their name from their unique feeding strategy, in which they use their net shaped fused lower jaw to swallow water and then rinse it inside of their mouths, swallowing all of the plantkton, and then spitting the clean water out of their mouth opening. Surrounding this pair of giants thrive myriads of many other creatures, that will be explored in way more detail in a video I'll be making soon! Stay tuned!
Close ups!.

Why does everything have a double mouth structure? It's very cool and I'm working on giving proper mouths to my spec Evo fellas soon so just curious
it's the ancestral trait from all vertebrates. The second mouth originated from an extra opening that was used for breathing and filter feeding in their early aquatic stages of evolution
