Here is an example of how different qualities of light can effect the same plant!
Both of these guys started out as cuttings from the same parent plant. They may look like two different varieties, but genetically they’re exactly the same. They’re both kept lightly moist, in the same soil mix, and are pruned and fed at roughly the same rate.
The only thing that differs between them is light. The one on the left in the pink planter is kept in a corner between two windows, so it gets light from north and east. It only gets some direct sun in the late morning.
The one on the right in the blue pot is in a sunroom that gets light all day. There are windows facing north, east, and south. It’s on a ledge a little to the side of the south windows, and gets about an hour of southeastern sun in the early evening.
Both plants are happy and growing like crazy (I just repotted the right one). The extra shade is what helps the plant on the left to keep its deep magenta colors. The bright green of the right plant is likely extra coloring to protect the leaves from too much sun. Excess sunlight would cause the leaves to bleach, and not enough light would cause them fade.

Green witch tip
When planting mint in your garden, plant it in its own pot rather than in the ground itself or it will quickly spread and take over the flower bed

One of the biggest tragedies of mankind through out all of history is all of the female geniuses who were never allowed to reach their potential and contribute their gifts to the world. Think of all the female “Mozarts” or “Einsteins” who could have been, but never were.

One day in highschool, period after lunch, spanish class. We all get in the room and take our seats, bored and tired out of our minds, and wait for the teacher.
The bell rings, teacher has yet to show up. Five mins later, nothin. Ten minutes? nope. nothing. Teacher never showed up, there wasn’t a substitute in sight, so here we are, a group of sophomores to seniors left alone. So you know what we did?
One of us upperclassmen stood up and took the role of the “teacher”, used flashcards to have us play Around the World, and taught us a few new words. One kid crawled under his desk and took a much needed nap. A group of girls talked to each other about their days, and did a random spanish worksheet they found online.
Teacher or no teacher, we freaking rocked the class.
Next day the teacher and principal talked to us and told us they were sorry we had been left alone, and while they were slightly upset that we didn’t notify the office/another teacher that the sub never showed up, they were more impressed than anything that we kept it down and under control and that the group of girls did the worksheets. We ended up getting ANOTHER DAY off class because the teacher thought we deserved a reward.
That’s what happened the day there was no teacher.

my school is a k-12 school (I’m in eleventh grade) and I swear–our school could be burnt to the ground they’d just be like “yeah thanks everyone for being really patient and working together to solve the problem”
incident #1- some kids hit a sprinkler or something and all the sprinklers upstairs went off and flooded half of upstairs and broke the elevator and flooded into the floor beneath it and half the kids couldnt go to class and yet they made us stay
incident #2- the power went out over the whole school– it was PITCH black in some areas and the teachers were just like “it should work 5-8 hours from now go to the bathroom with a flashlight kiddos”
there was also a time when a homeless guy came in pulled the fire alarm and the firefighters and police came it was wild
yeah so that’s my school i’ll keep you posted if any other dumb stuff happens

hello, people! summer break just started for me and i’m so excited for what’s to come! i figured that making a masterpost would make it official and also would give everyone some ideas how to spend it fruitfully!! let’s begin fellas :’)
- the day school ends -
aka the day when you realize that you have days and days ahead of you and don’t know where to start
deep clean your room – this will give you he feeling that summer has actually begun and plus you now have a clean room haha
make a new playlist (a big one, okay?) – these are super fun to make and also summer does deserve some new funky and sporty songs in its bag
relax – go pamper yourself; get that double scoop ice-cream, go to spa, maybe get your nails and hair done. you have survived till summer break and you deserve this!
try to sort out your tasks and assignments into your planner – I know this can be tough, especially at the start when holidays have just begun; but try to at least plan out for the next week or two. maybe you want to work on that essay or write out those notes – planning will def help you to feel organized and get back your life in place.
- the following weeks -
gET THAT SHIT DONE NOW!!! SERIOUSLY DO IT!! DON’T PUT IT OFF TILL THE LAST WEEK!!! DO IT FAM, DO IT!!! (im low-key saving your butts with this tip, please listen to me) – write out those essays till they are perfect, solve that problem set till its ingrained in your bran, do your readings and write those notes. do it!!
combine that shit with fun stuff (see below) don’t burn yourself out please. and most importantly do not stress!!!11!!!!!
connect with people. call that friend you forgot about and that aunt who has been asking you over for dinner for ages. summer gives you the time to rekindle your relationships and seriously though, connecting with people will make your life much happier.
get a new hobby!! do you draw? paint? write? whatever you do – start doing it. use that time which you spend on the internet in exploring your passions and finding your interests.
seriously though, do that work first.
- some (fun) stuff to do in summer -
clean your closet (do it mate)
compliment people more
smile at strangers often
vlog your days. maybe start a YouTube channel for this?
revamp your blog
learn coding and revamp that shitty theme of yours (this applies for me, chill)
keep a gratitude journal
go a week without any social media (this will be hard, but try it!!)
go hiking or cycling with a friend
read 7-8 books or as many books as you please
have a do nothing day - treat yourself love!
learn a new kind of dance - this is really fun, i promise
go a whole day with any technology
do a 30 day challenge!!
seek out an interesting article to read everyday
go camping in the hills
have a bonfire!! roast marshmallows (or burn old notes lmao)
learn to knit/sew
save up!! (…they blow it all in a single day? lmao don’t though)
star gazing on a clear night!!
talk till dawn about random shit with a random person
a no makeup day – let your skin breathe
go on a family trip!
visit a sanctuary or a zoo with a younger sibling or smol kids
there are endless possibilities!! these are just some to get you started!!
- the last few days -
yo remember you still have winter break to come this year!! don’t be sad, fam!!
have a dance party in your room with your favourite music on (bc you only live once)
check and recheck if you got all that work done (if you didn’t, rip you haha)
check your school’s sit for new updates and stuff (I bet you don’t do this though)
annnnd then enjoy your last day!! trust me - you’re going to have an amazing term ahead of this!!
Hope this helps! + you can always send me requests for masterposts since my ask box is always open! (´。• ᵕ •。`) ♡
Love, Taylor xo

Kids.  Teenagers.  As someone staring 40 in the face lemme tell you a thing.
You are going to be horrified and embarrassed at some point by the shit you are doing now.
And you are going to wish with all your might you’d done more of it.
You’re gonna wish you had more selfies, more photos, more videos being dumb with your friends.  You’re going to wish you’d had your hair even higher or your shoes even sparklier.
Go.  Document the shit out of your ridiculous life.  Fuck trends but if you wanna be trendy, go all in.  Fuck in-groups and subcultures but if one sings to you, do it all.  Be exactly as cool or punk rock or goth or fandom or country or hardcore or hip hop or whatever, and don’t let anyone tell you differently.
Just don’t hurt people.  That’s the only thing you’ll ever genuinely live to regret.

little self care tips
- apply Vaseline to your eyes, lashes, brows, and lips before bed
- never brush curly hair while it’s dry
- on that note, applying products/oil to curly hair while dry is useless
- use a t shirt to dry hair to avoid frizz
- sleep without pants. trust me.
- avoid watery body lotions like Vaseline’s lotion. only dries you out
- avoid crystalline, jagged scrubs (sugar, coffee. St. Ives, etc.). Use round/gentle ones like oatmeal
- avoid coconut oil on face. if you apply it to your hair wash your face afterwards
- don’t put lemon on your face. it might seem like it’s helping but it weakens its protective layer in the long run. if you do use it, dilute it and avoid sun for a while.
- no toothpaste on pimples either it’s a myth
- why do u have a bra on at home. take that shit off and live a little.
- apply deodorant before getting dressed so it doesn’t rub off on your clothes defeating the purpose
- reapply sunscreen every 3-4 hours
- don’t text the fuckboy he don’t care about you
- wake up 30 minutes earlier to have a more relaxed morning and avoid rushing
- wash panties by themselves so you don’t get the gross dirt and germs from your other clothes mixed in. dry them in the sun to kill bacteria if possible.
- hand wash all hijabs they’ll last longer
- don’t use rose water with added fragrance. always check label
- eat at least one fruit or vegetable a day
- leave menial tasks for the end of the day. don’t drain yourself before getting to the important stuff
- before saying something mean or a nasty joke, take 5 seconds to think about it.
- apologizing first doesn’t make you weak
- being vulnerable doesn’t make you weak
- exfoliate after using foundation or powder
- clean phone screen with rubbing alcohol/sanitizer
might add more later or y'all can reblog with your own tips
