Minecraft Maker's Newest Game Blends Cliffs, Horses And Dogecoin
Markus "Notch" Persson is most well-known as the creator behind Minecraft, but he's quickly becoming famous for his eccentric games that cover everything from speed typing to existential drama. If you're unsure that he's the man to beat, just check out his latest game, Cliffhorse. minecraft servers Yes, it's just as absurd as the title implies -- you play a horse pushing a giant ball across cliffs, and there isn't any more to it than that. But that nebulous design (which took just two hours to build) is what's important. Persson describes the game for Windows only as a jab at developers who misuse early access programs by charging for "minimum effort" releases, where the majority of the content will be released later. He's also aware of the irony, given that he charged for Minecraft well before it was even finished.
If the absurdity of the project were not evident, Notch will only accept voluntary Dogecoin donations for payment. Cliffhorse can be downloaded absolutely free of charge if you wish. It's a good thing there is no profit model since there aren't assurances of updates in the future. You might not be a fan of Persson's parody to send him virtual currency. The launch might be useful in the event that developers do a little more work before asking gamers to pay.
@bonzrat Two hours in Unity. Boom. Goty.
