well interacting as hitoshi is much harder than i thought. he literally knows no one other than izuku and he’s a resentful little prick in general. i’m really struggling to come up with stuff for replies. but since i love this series so much and the community is lovely, i’m gonna make an iida blog bc he’s my second son, and put this blog on a sorta-hiatus until hitoshi appears again in the manga!

There was something that lingered in the air whenever Izuku passed by the dark haired boy of his past; a stranger that held an importance, and a person that he’d grown very curious about since their fateful encounter at the Sport’s Festival. Even now, he could remember his concerns, and his fears that he would lose to someone with a quirk so absolutely indomitable in nature. Everyone before him that had come into contact with it had been rendered completely useless, bent only to the other’s will, and even in their fight, Izuku feared that he would meet the same end.

Yet here they were, trapped within the school’s lunch line, and he was sure Hitoshi’s defeat against him still rang loud with a resounding bitterness.

“Uh–hey… It’s kinda been awhile, h-huh?” He began, doing his best to make this conversation start easily, but he knew better than to assume that everything was completely fine since then. 

    izuku’s shaky, uncertain voice    reached the taller boy and he turned around with a cautious step ,    ❛    midoriya .    it certainly has been a while .    ❜    he was under the assumption that the boy would do his best to avoid hitoshi since he said many horrible things towards him during their fight at the sports festival .    obviously , those were part of his strategic play to bring his quirk into use , however , he continued throwing profanities out left and right out of frustration even after it was deemed to be unfruitful .    hitoshi was still pained by his crushing defeat .

    on the other hand , he had yet to thank izuku for showing not just him , but everyone who was watching the festival what a real hero was like .    especially during his fight against shouto , the boy’s spirit was inextinguishable , the tension in their battle leaving the audience without time to breathe and even though izuku’s excelling results weren’t enough for the top 3 places , many thought of him as the real winner .

    ❛    we haven’t talked since you beat me ...    i think you fought well against your classmate , but it’s strange how you focused on helping him overcome his problems .    not unexpected of you though .     ❜

this piece of shit is well known for pranking people to hell and back on april fools. everyone knows this and doesnt talk to him the entire day (which is also rewarding to him in most cases), but those who don’t know make the mistake of answering him... they regain consciousness in the school infirmary, bandaging themselves from head to toe, their torn uniform laying on the floor next to them. the next day no one talks to them out of respect.

    lunch break often passed    more or less uneventfully and quietly , all the students grouping up with their friends and eating together .    hitoshi often recoursed to the school yard , either with a few people from his class or alone , but never once did he see any of the teachers there -- not eraserhead in his signature yellow sleeping bag , laying in the grass just a few steps away from the doorway , as he did that day .    carefully approaching the man , his open eyes became visible .    ❛    how are you , mr. aizawa ?    ❜

    ❛    what kind of traumatic    events could’ve happened in a kid’s life that caused him to ignore an element of his already powerful quirk ?    ❜    he digged deeper , his eyes rolling in the tired sockets , glaring in another direction .    hitoshi could not understand that the foul feeling of pride had the ability of making people throw parts of themselves away .    it wasn’t a surprise , but it was something he never understood    (    he had nothing to be proud of    )    .    ❛    sorry , i didn’t mean to pry .    i’m ... glad that midoriya opened your eyes .    ❜

Her twitch at his voice was completely visible, halting her task in trying to pull those bikes upright again. Honestly, she was more than a little keen on getting it done before any of their owners came out; but evidently, she failed at it. And so, trying to swallow down the sheepishness she felt, Riku offered a smile.

      “I’m fine~ Really fine.” 

If a broken skateboard as a result was considered ‘fine’.

      “Are one of these yours? I’m sorry, I really wasn’t looking where I was going. If I ended up breaking yours somehow, I can fix it in a jiff—”

    ❛    they can’t break that    easily .    ❜    he walked up to the bikes with an irritated expression -- he wasn’t exactly mad at the girl, but the awkward accident was going to cause him a headache later that day , he could feel it .    how can someone be so careless that they run right into a full bike rack ... ? 

hitoshi moved to help the other , and his eyes stopped at one of the unfamiliar bikes : its chain lock was damaged badly.    with the smallest movement , it would most likely fall off .    he was left with two tiresome options ; wait for its owner and discuss a way to fix it , or leave immediately so the two kids don’t fall under suspicion .    ❛    we need to leave now .    we were never here ,    ❜    hitoshi claimed and freed his bike from the mess with a swift move of arms .
