INTRODUCTORY STATEMENT

Welocome to to A-Parallel-Institue, a blog created by the U.S.A. Branch of the Magnus Institute. Our intentions are to provide a means for those afflicted by the fear entities to recognize their situation and come to us for assistance with their conditions. To do this, the head of this institute, Ms. Cato, has instructed me to create a social media platform to better reach those outside of the city where we reside.

This project, alongside helping those who may be unaware of what is causing the strange and seemingly unexplainable problems in their lives, also provides a means of giving a voice to several individuals who have agreed to assist this objective. These volunteers have provided introductory statements linked below as a means of sharing some basic information regarding why they have ended up with us and what they wish to gain from assisting in this task. Each of them have agreed to answer questions, however relevant or irrelevant to this project, from any of you. That way, you can gain a better understanding of these individuals and their position, and perhaps you can encourage them to share information that we have yet to procure from them. The following list shall be updated as we receive more volunteers for the project.

We hope that your participation in speaking with these individuals will help spread the word about this institute and provide both a means of receiving help for any of your own afflictions or a better understanding of what handling these entities is like through the experiences of our volunteers.

This is an ask/art blog featuring many of my own characters, as well as cameos from a few of my friend's characters that will be tagged accordingly as they show up. It takes place in an alternative universe where The Change never really happened, but the world was still affected by it. This version of the Magnus Institute, as a result, is a bit different, with the blog following a separate division centered in the United States.

As of right now, I have only listened to a small portion of Magnus Archives and only know so much about the overall story and world, relying mainly on the bits and pieces that my friends have told me. Because of this, there is a possibility that several things may be inaccurate, and I apologize if that is the case. Do keep in mind, though, that this is an alternative universe, so many things may also be intentionally different or inaccurate.

Name: Luka

Fear: Hope, the opposite of fear!

Gender: Nonbinary (They/Them)

Age: Teenager

Height: 5’4” (162cm)

Description: Luka comes from a universe that never experienced The Change, but was nonetheless affected by it. Jonathan and Martin’s ultimate act of sacrifice in their world birthed the entity of Hope in another. Hope manifests on earth in the form of an angel-like child named Luka. Luka exists in direct opposition to the fears, passively draining avatars and manifestations of their power until they wither into dust. They are undoubtedly powerful, but they lack the focus, drive, and wisdom of the fears to do much on a wide scale. They instead prefer a more personal approach, actively seeking out individual humans suffering from the dread powers and swooping in to instill within them the power needed to survive. Being the direct result of human will, Luka is much easier to understand in their existence. They are not so much an ambiguous force of nature that’s intrinsically tied to humanity, but a (mostly) tangible being with a distinct personality and will. One similarity, however, is that Luke can also create avatars. Avatars of Hope are often associated with light, doves, feathers, and dreams. Although usually delicate and graceful, avatars of Hope can also represent the grit and determination it takes to stand against something as primal as fear. Never underestimate Hope and those who champion it.

Personality-wise, Luka is as playful as they are optimistic. They consider the few avatars they have family, and are sociable with everyone and everything they meet. Even fear avatars and monsters are potential targets of friendship despite the obvious conflict in nature. They love helping others and generally being included in things. They can often be seen hovering around the Magnus Institute, curiously exploring and chatting with all who enter and exit. The Eye isn’t thrilled by this, but it has yet to make a move. Perhaps it’s biding its time?

*They gave a sheepish wave as the door clicked behind them. A door that wasn’t there before. With a blink it was gone, and so too was Mal.*

Mal: I guess I should mention something. I also came over because I heard your family was having Spiral problems. Not that I can magically fix everything, but I wanted to see if I could help. Chroma was really vague on the details, but I unfortunately know the Distortion pretty well. Or, at least, my version of it.

Mal: Old tech is more reliable, to be fair. We use a lot of older stuff at the hospital. For some reason some of the entities have a harder time effecting old equipment too.
