she’s as smitten as they come,      smiling so radiantly only the sun could rival it’s glow. ❝  is that so ?  ❞ her arms drape lazily from his shoulders, ensuring there is no distance between them. an innocent fascination prompts her head to tilt. 

it’s moments like this that she enjoys the most. he says something stupid, she laughs, and they are reminded of what it feels like to be so soft. normalcy can feel incredibly far away at times. (  there’s always something pulling them into the realm of insane.  )  but oh, how easily he reels her back to what feels like a normal teenage life. even if just for a night.

crown of golden tresses turns from him to hide the tinge of red burning beneath her cheeks. it threatens to expose how the answer he has given isn’t the one she expected when she foolishly asked,  ‘ have you ever thought about kissing me ? ‘ (  STUPID GIRL ! of course he hasn’t. ) he’s right and she’s humiliated. so she does the only thing she can to salvage this and laughs a strained sort of sound like this was just a bad punchline to some joke.
