“Yeep! How did you see me??”

Curses and crumbs! How was he so easily spotted from behind this tree?? Clearing his throat, the small purple figure took on his most dramatic stance and a super serious expression.

“Tremble, mortal! And feast your eyes upon the face of darkness itself! I am the shadow who stalks the streets at night, a fallen angel of justice sent forth to purge the land of corruption! I am the blackened paragon by which all shall be judged! I am… the… arbiter of… wait. No. I am the… um… the… judge..? I think I said that already… I’m sorry, what was your question again?”

“Oh! I haven’t seen you around here before, my name’s Mega Man or Rock for short! What’s your name?”

Anti squirmed and hissed in pain as his friend treated his wounds. He was trying so, so hard not to cry infront of him. What kind of an example was he setting for his student, getting all banged-up like this? Some sidekick-slash-mentor hero he was!

“I-I guess I’ve gotten too used to fighting giant squids who use lasers instead of their own mouths,” he responded with a forced smile. “Sss, agh! Hope he doesn’t have an appetite for me in particular now.” He gingerly touched his fresh new bandage, where he could already see the tiniest spot of black blood trying to peek through the fabric.

How about “aftermath” for li’l Hydachi!

"O-okay! That should... do it...?" Hydachi snips the last bandage onto his friend's arm, patting it gently with one hand while closing the first aid kit he had brought with his other hand.

"I didn't think a giant squid could scratch like that. Jeez. I didn't know a squid's beak could be so sharp..."

"Here's a boop from the birthday girl! Boop!"

“Eep! Attacked by someone that I trust..! And right in the moneymaker, too! Have villains these days got no decency??”

“… snrk! Hahaha! Just kidding! Hey, did you say that today’s your birthday? No way! I hope it was an awesome one with lots of cake and presents!”

“… especially lots of cake… mmm…”

Upon seeing the unexpected dilation of her eyes, visions of excited cats swam in the youngster’s mind. Funny eyes. Feathers. What other cute animal features did the lady hide? Did she have a doggy tail too?

To be honest, he was a little unsteady on his feet. Not only was he hurt and exhausted, but his accursed supersuit quite literally made his legs feel like noodles. He let go of her hand and experimentally tried to take a few steps on his own. He… lost his balance. Rather ungracefully, too.

The next thing he knew, Anti was on his knees and gently swaying side to side, as if gravity couldn’t decide which way he should fall.

“… why do I feel so… why can’t I… remember..?”

A tiny spark of pride urged him to turned her down and rise up on his own. Afterall, a hero ought to be able to take care of themselves! Right? But yet another failed attempt to sit up snuffed out that spark, forcing him to accept that he’d be stuck here without her.

“… yes… please,” he mumbled as he reached up to take her hand, his own shaking like a leaf and feeling like it weighed a hundred pounds.

While most people would probably be at least somewhat unnerved by what appeared to be an actual monster, Anti wasn’t afraid of this stranger for her looks. Infact, he found himself staring in particular at the feathers that sprouted from her head like hair.

“… f… fluffy,” he muttered aloud. It was a good thing that he hadn’t the strength to reach up high enough to impulsively touch her head. Attempting to pet a complete stranger was most definitely inappropriate behavior.

Nacara grabbed his hand. She tugged him upright. 

She cocked her head at him–at first, unsure what he could mean by that. Her eyes widened, pupils full circles before narrowing to their normal size again. The plume of feathers on her head flattened. It took a moment of silence before she gathered her words. “Can you stand on your own?”

Hate: What does your OC hate? Why? How do they act towards the object of their hatred?

Bravoman is especially sensitive when it comes to his identity as a hero. Having lived his entire life as a background character with no particular talents or skills and then suddenly being thrust into the foreground was a trip and a half. People noticed him? Cared about him? Admired him?? Impossible!

When Anti came along, Bravoman mistook him for a simple fan. Just some kid who was real good at making costumes and had a passion for drama. But when Brave Man came onto the scene? Bravo felt an anger like nothing else before it. Even he didn’t realize that it went a lot deeper than just “this jerk is profiting off of my image!” In actuality, it was “how dare he take the only thing that makes me special, makes people realize that I exist, and use my life-threatening situations for his own cheap stories?”

For the first time in Bravoman’s life, he had something that made him unique, something that he could feel proud of. And for the first time in his life, he genuinely hated someone. He was even willing to fight Brave Man in public over it at his own convention, until he was reminded that he couldn’t punch a civilian no matter how awful they were.

Even though they have since worked together to save the world on multiple occasions, Bravo still harbours dark and bitter feelings for his copycat rival. He hasn’t let it escalate beyond hostile remarks, eyerolls, or the occasional childish bickering, but he wouldn’t be too upset if Brave Man took a good smack in the face from a baddie from time to time.

Mistake: What's the worst mistake your OC ever made? What led to them making it? Have they been able to fix it? How have they moved on?

If one were to ask Anti what he thought his greatest mistake was, he would probably tell you that he makes a new mistake every day. Or that he is a mistake, just some walking talking accident with thoughts and opinions. He is rather dramatic that way.

In truth, his greatest mistake was a simple little thing that most children do without a second thought; trusting his own father.

Most kids are usually raised with love and affection. Anti didn’t receive any of that. And yet, he never stopped wanting his dad’s attention. Never stopped hoping that today would be the day that he would notice him. All he wanted was to spend some time with the man who created him. Share his interests with him, talk to him about the things he liked, have someone to give him a hug when he was having a bad day. What he got instead was silence, cold neglect, or if he was lucky, yelled at just for being a kid.

Their “relationship” ended the day his dad stopped seeing him as his unwanted son and as an experiment full of untapped potential. Even after Anti was finally taken away from his abusive father, he was deeply in denial about what he had gone through. His dad couldn’t be that bad. His dad would never hurt him without having a really good reason for it. Anti deserved it. He had to. Because if being hurt by his father wasn’t Anti’s fault, then he had to wake up and realize that his dad never loved him. He couldn’t bear the truth that he had never been loved or cared for before.

It wasn’t an easy or fast process. It took a lot of attention and kindness that he wasn’t used to for him to realize that the way his dad treated him wasn’t normal or okay. He still has a lot to learn about how kids are supposed to grow up with their families.

Anti continued to blame himself for his own abuse for a long time. If he did nothing to deserve what his dad did to him, then surely he deserved it just because he was foolish enough to trust him. It’s a learning process. At least now he knows that he isn’t supposed to be nervous or scared by the mere sound of his own parent’s voice. And now, he finally has a family and friends who cherish him deeply and are there for him on every step of his journey.

What emotion are you?

Anxiety

Anxiety is your companion, the shadow that hangs over you like a storm cloud. It's a voice that whispers in your ear, telling you all the things that could go wrong- echoing and bouncing inside the walls of your mind. It's a feeling that clutches at your chest, making it hard to breathe. It's a cycle, a never-ending loop of worry and fear. I wish I could turn it off for you, silence the doubt in your mind, but it's always there, lurking in the corners of your thoughts, ready to strike when you least expect it.

“!! Whoa! That was one wicked glare he shot that guy just now! I had no idea that he had a side like that to him! Maybe he only likes nature and hates people? Huh… I can relate. The way he sent that man running just now was… kinda cool… I wonder if… would he mind if I hung out just a little closer than usual..?”
