Well. It's been exactly one year since I started this comic. Which is pretty impressive for my tiny attention span. This is the biggest of my stories and I'm so damn proud (and surprised) that I was able to finish it haha

Small artists you need to understand that when you see an artist who you think has 'made it' tells you not to worry about the numbers and to not fret about getting more likes than reblogs they are not telling you it because they think you are stupid for caring or because they dont need to network to survive they are very likely telling you that because they have witnessed first hand the way the numbers game tears people to shreds in terms of mental health and motivation

I've decided that 2012 April is actually creepy and unhinged. Bitches love her for her uncanny and distinctly inhuman swag.

Seriously tho I'm majorly disappointed they didn't have her being half Kraang be more noticeable besides her powers n stuff. I just want it to be where you look at her in the dark and she looks back at you with glowing green and yellow eyes and you just think "that doesn't belong on earth". Ugggh look I just rlly like aliens and uncanny valley and I think April deserves to be a little insane.

Gonna ask this to a few people that inspire me, but how do you take inspiration from things without feeling like whatever you make is just bad in comparison? Or like a downgraded version of the thing(s) that inspired you?

(If this is too negative feel free to delete/ignore, I'm sorry)

Well for things like poses, I’ll often try to take the pose ref I’m using and try to shift it around in my head so it’s from a different angle, or I’ll take multiple references and mash together small parts that I like. But most of the time when I do this, I have created a scene already in my head, so I’m just searching for references to help with accuracy.

For things like ideas that scratch my own creativity, I’ll make sure to make it my own. All creating is taking from things you like, and making it something completely new! You have to have faith in your own talents!

When I first started my AU, there was a few comments saying that it was similar to LFLS. But imo, the only thing that I think was close to LFLS was the scarf I had Leo wear (which technically, was taken from the comics Dark Leo arc, not even from LFLS lol). But I didn’t let those comparisons get me down (too much 😂) because I knew that I was having fun writing my own plots and coming up with designs on my own!
