What is a zine ?
Zine short for fanzine
It’s a creative platform kind of like a blog
Definition from wiki : self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via a copy machine. Zines are the product of either a single person or of a very small group, and are popularly photocopied into physical prints for circulation

3. Based in New Jersey and made "by teens, for teens," Crybaby is only a year old, but has already gained a cult following, each issue selling out almost as soon as it's released. This zine is all about growing up, and its contributors have no issue getting into the nitty gritty of adolescence — experimenting with your style included. GEN Z zine
4. Hate zine - explore politics and social justice through art, photography, writing, poetry and music. In print and online. Representing people from different backgrounds; female voices are important; giving young artists and writers a means to publish their work; articles that touch upon the shit that's going on; and not presenting real issues in an ignorant, glossy way," she said. All these zines combine visuals, fashion, and social justice in a way that mainstream media often seems to struggle executing. Not only will you be able to learn about current issues alongside underground trends, as well as discover new creative talent both in the beauty industry and outside it, but by supporting these independent zines, you'll know that you're money is going to those who can use it to further the causes you care about most.

How coronavirus has impacted the fashion retail
Since the pandemic started, no one has hardly been able to shop in-store, which for some stores that don't also have an online website has been the worst year and several months for them. Many shops have suffered from the pandemic but, some more than others. Topshop has had to close all of its stores. Most of the employers had to find out through social media that Topshop was going into administration after failing to £30m loans. This left almost 13,000 employees jobless. Asos has now bought Topshop so you can shop it online but all stores are now closed until the foreseeable future many have been left unemployed as a result of this.
Why did Topshop close? they had an online store
Topshop's problems started way before the pandemic. The pandemic merely made it worse and landed the company in way more debt. Sir Phillip, who used to own Topshop before Asos took or choose to ignore that rise and popularity of the forever growing online shopping community. Before closing down, Topshop had over 510 stores across 58 different countries, the areas covered were Europe, North America, South America, the middle east, and North Africa, South Africa, central Asia, and Southeast Asia.

The positive impact of the fashion industry
Fashion is forever changing and is a way to express yourself, there aren't a lot of right and wrongs within it; it is what you make it. The fashion market attracts people to buy things which are of course very good for the economy. Because fashion is forever changing there are loads of new jobs each year and in the future, there will be jobs that we never would have heard of 5 years from now, there are so many opportunities within the fashion and once you are in you are in! I think what impacts the fashion industry the most in a positive way is that fashion itself does not have a gender, race, age, height, language, and so forth. I truly believe that is what impacts the fashion industry positively because it is a way to communicate to others without having to use words. Instead, you are using color, pattern, design to do this. Fashion has its own language and it evolved every single day, it often moves with the times and is no longer just about runway shows and collections, it is about how you showcase the product and what message it conveys.

SUSTAINABILITY
The fashion industry estimates for 10 percent of global carbon emissions and just under 20 percent of wastewater. The klarna app, when you buy through them, it now tells you how much of an impact on the environment you an contributing to measured in c02 emissions. It helps you keep better track of your carbon footprint. Although, this is a very recent thing and isn't making a great difference yet. One pair of denim jeans alone causes 33.4kg of carbon dioxide across their lifespan. According to the Levi Strauss company itself, choosing raw denim will have less impact on climate.
How can we take action to be more eco-friendly and sustainable within the fashion industry?
By using biodegradable materials, we can help reduce the amount of waste within the fashion world. Shopping in charity shops, recycling and upcycling clothes old clothes will help get more life out of garments. One of the most important things to help reduce waste and stop causing so many c02 emissions is to stop shopping at fast-fashion retail shops, especially online. By shopping online, we are making our carbon footprint bigger than it needs to be. Because the clothing has to travel to you, we all will eventually have to pay the price.
