Red Dwarf theory my roomate, his boyfriend and I came up with:
Everyone on Red Dwarf is a trans man, exept for Kryton, his gender is ambiguous and close to a washing machine than anything
But Lister, Rimmer and Cat? all trans men
the twist? they are all so insecure and trying to hide it behind their own understanding of masulinity, they just never assume anyone of them could be trans.
Ofc, the only one who knows is Kryton, who helps them with everything that comes with it...and maybe Molly, we are not sure on that
Does it have any lore implications? No, not really, but is it fun to watch it through this perspective? And just making everything more queer and somewhat relatable? Hell yeah
Also this is just the unique show where this would work, since everyone is so anxious and unique, so this is something they all would do...for their own reasons...Lister being one of the bois so much, he kind of does not care, but also kind of does? Cat being so fashionable and needing to look like the perfect macho man version of himself at all times? Rimmer...being just Rimmer?
recomend watching it with this in mind

What was your obscure chatroom/forum that you used before social media? Don’t say Gaia Online or Club Penguin. I’m talking obscure.
#I have no idea what counts as obscure#but mineral makeup forums like Everyday Minerals#I think was the name before it fell apart over censorship

"If you get up early you can get so much done before 10am," this is true. But if you stay up late you can get so much done after 10pm. Equally true. Let's stop pretending like the morning has Magic Bonus Hours and acknowledge that it's because there's less people bothering you and you can focus

every day i see takes on this website made by people who don't seem to believe any suffering but their own is real
#I think that big part of it is that on the internet nobody knows you're a cat#it is a natural part of childhood and adolescence to think that noone ever suffered like you

TOM OF FINLAND (2017) dir. Dome Karukoski Decorated officer Touko Laaksonen returns home after a harrowing and heroic experience serving his country in World War II, but life in Finland during peacetime proves equally distressing. He finds peace-time Helsinki rampant with persecution of the homosexual men around him, who are even being pressured to marry women and have children. Touko finds refuge in his liberating art, specializing in homoerotic drawings of muscular men, free of inhibitions. His work, made famous by his signature ‘Tom of Finland’, became the emblem of a generation of men and fanned the flames of a gay revolution. (link in title)

there's been plenty of pushback against youtube's plan to age-check users by using an AI to analyze everyone's watching habits, but amidst that, i spotted this playlist circulating among some teens:
(picture is a reconstruction to protect the kids identity)
interesting! they're trying to trick the AI by watching videos that have a primarily adult viewer demographic? well im a curious fella so naturally i have to take a look-see, and

Another thing fandom needs to start doing more of is projecting on tops.
There are delicious amounts of psychological distress you can inflict on that guy once you get into his head. The brainworms of forcing agency and initiative on someone who genuinely is Not Fucking Ready For It are exquisite.

im gonna be honest gang i really don't care if a 16 year old sees porn. i think the circumstances & context around your first interaction with sexuality is a lot more important in whether or not it will be traumatizing in some way than the sex itself. like i think the first time i ever looked up porn i was 12? which is a very normal age as well. and i was also on tumblr where i saw a lot of people saying "hey porn isn't realistic" so when i watched porn i was like hmm interesting, maybe hot, but i's not good advice. and that was that. watching porn didn't lead me to engage with any adults, it didn't make me upset, all it did was help me visualize things and later explore my own sexuality. and im not saying there's no rules i couldn't get behind regarding minors and sexual content because we do have these concepts for good reasons. but i keep seeing people be like well OBVIOUSLY we should keep minors from watching porn! and im just like idk! do we really need to be majorly concerned with preventing teens from accessing porn as much as we need to make sure there is bountiful, educated and compassionate sex ed, workers rights for sex workers, and awareness around abuse? maybe the solution is better positive than negative
