one aspect of many hardcore kpop fans is that they fail to recognize that kpop was specifically designed to be addictive. every group or artist that you follow is essentially engineered to be addictive. otherwise, why do you think we consistently receive various clips of them from backstage or during photo shoots, unlike other industries? im not blaming the artists themselves; it’s more about the structure and the concept of the industry. this design, which fuels constant obsession, contributes to the acceptance of toxicity in fan behaviors, rendering them into unbearable traits. when you think about it, being a fan of these kpop artists has been turned into a job of embracing and loving all of their concepts and styles, specially during comebacks. not because they are compelling you to do so, but because you choose to fit in and connect with other fans in the fandom to be recognized as a true fan. that's the hypocrisy that arises within individuals shaping their identity. fans frequently compare with other artists and deride them without appreciating their music, overly fixating on personal favorites while ignoring their wrongdoings or other serious concerns, being intensely involved in voting while disparaging other nominated artists to encourage fandom participation in voting etc etc. many have succumbed to the system here. a system that transforms fans into mere puppets. adopting traits that are perceived as characteristic of a kpop fan, believing that it defines you as a "real" fan, is just a myth. there is no justification for this dynamic to exist. you can be a solo stan, a multistan, or a dedicated supporter of just one group; as long as you’re not demeaning others, hating without understanding, or concocting hate chains as part of your identity. you shouldn’t belittle other members just because you prefer one, and similarly, you shouldn’t be unfair or mindless while being a multistan. a common issue among multistans is that they cast votes for their various favorite artists in the same category from multiple accounts and claim fairness, which is evidently not being fair as they shows. im not going to hold your hand while saying that voting from different accounts for each artist doesn't truly add value or make a difference. in fact, you’re contributing nothing. it’s better to concentrate on which artists resonated with you this year and which comeback genuinely appealed to you, and then vote for them in the appropriate category. fans being excessively obsessive and defensive in misguided ways leads these companies and artists to feel a sense of superiority. they begin to exploit fans as tools to support them during unsuccessful releases, dubious collaborations, or other questionable actions. what i want to convey is that instead of immersing yourself in fandom and allowing it to define your personality, you can cultivate a well-rounded identity while enjoying these artists that match your preferences. because, in the end of the day, yes, you have the right to criticise them, stop supporting them, or switch to a different fandom. there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. and rather than becoming an ignorant person let's build up a wise existence with fun experiences in this kpop universe. let's enjoy this part of our life without drowning ourselves in the process.

being a kpop stan is a rly enjoyable experience when you realize you can just be regular. you can know nothing about them! you dont have to know your biases favorite color or birthday or even last name lol. you dont have to watch their appearances or shows or any of it. you dont need to be in the loop. and above that its way more enjoyable when you realize you can dislike stuff. you can hate their releases, its ok. you can hate their styling or their choreographies or you can even dislike some of the members lmfao.

'real fan' culture needs to die it is human nature to have tastes and to be critical of things i promise. you dont have to unconditionally like every aspect of every person in every group you like and know everything about them down to their place of birth. you can even curate spaces where you are critical of them i promise its ok. you wont go to jail or anything
