veritysinclair:
Verity looked at her friend as he appeared up behind her. She gave him a weak smile, as she was too scared to even open her mouth until they got inside. Once he pulled her into a hug, she rested her head on his shoulder. All of the emotions were getting a bit much now, so she let herself go and began sobbing on his shoulder. Without a word, she handed him the keys, nodded when he suggested they go inside. “Sorry. I’mm a mess.” she managed to force out in between the sobs. “I am just so.. stupid.”
“You have nothing to apologize, don’t worry” he said as he unlocked the door, leading her inside and over to Ryan’s couch before putting a blanket on her. “You’re not stupid, you could never be stupid” he said, sitting down next to her and holding her hand. “Do you want to tell me what happened first or do you want me to get you some wine?” he asked, wanting to do everything he could to make her feel better.

“That is cute.” Diana said with a smile. Knowing she had always struggled when it came to making friends, mostly because most girls did not want to be her friend, and guys had only wanted to sleep with her. She had also worked from a young age, so there was that. Diana looked at him, clearly surprised when he told her his age. “Right then.” She said before leaning over and taking back the glass of wine she had previously given him. “Sorry, but seeing we are friends now, I am going to tell you underage drinking is bad.” she said before letting out a teasing chuckle.
Brendon just smiled when she called him and Verity cute. After leaving home, Brendon never felt like he had any trouble making friends, his only problem was that he could only make friends and he couldn’t find someone to date. “that is fair” he laughed as she took away the drink, “No complaints here, I’m enjoying my water” he said, holding up his water bottle.

Diana offered him a slight smile, before she shrugged her shoulders. “Well you are referring to her as your best friend, so I assume it went okay.” Diana responded with a light chuckle, taking another sip of her wine. “I’d love to be your friend!” Diana told him. “And you don’t have to drink that to try and make me become one.” She added with a teasing wink.
“It did, I would call that a definite success story. She’s my best friend in the whole world” he smiled. “I would like that” he said with a nod. “Although if we’re going to be friends I have to come clean about something” he said before leaning a little bit closer and speaking quieter. “I’m not exactly old enough to drink yet. I used a fake ID to get in here because I like the atmosphere, but I’m definitely...not even close.. to being 21″

@brendonrulli
Verity had called Brendon and asked him to come over to Ryan’s place the second after her conversation with Dieter had finished. She could not believe he had met someone. A nurse someone. Just like she had said the first time they had met. As a joke! She was struggling to hold back her tears as she felt frustrated with everything. She had reached the front door and was fiddling with the keys to unlock it when she heard something that resembled footsteps behind her and turned around.
Brendon could hear how upset Verity was when she called him and knew how serious the situation must’ve been. Rushing over to Ryan’s, he got there just as she was trying to get the door open. “..Hey..” he said cautiously, in a hushed tone. Looking at her, he could tell she was about to cry. “C’mere” he said, stepping closer and pulling her into a hug. “It’s going to be okay... I’ll get us inside, we’ll get you comfortable, I’ll grab us some drinks and snacks, and you can tell me everything” he said softly, pulling away from the hug but keeping his hands on her sides and looking into her eyes. “Does that sound alright?”

Diana smiled at him. “My mom never let me party or drink either, but i managed to find my way around it.” She told him. “But honestly it was not worth it in a lot of ways.” She admitted. “I find it hard to have fun without alcohol.” She added. “Yes, well.. I guess I just need someone who are a bit more like minded and relaxed.” She told him
“I never really tried it” he shrugged, “I only drank that one time with my best friend because it was when I just met her and I wanted her to like me and be my friend” he said, looking down at his drink. “I suppose that could be what I’m doing right now too” he admitted with a small laugh.

Diana smiled. “Well in that case I hope that this one is to your liking.” she told him. She thought her taste in wine was pretty good if she could day so herself, but the amount of luxury wines she had consumed in her lifetime, it did not come close to any of those. However this was one she actually could afford. “They sound like a dream.” She told him. “I mean, you don’t sound like the type of guy that parties to the early hours of the morning, which is the main issues as I am in college and work weird hours with my job as a nurse.” She explained. “So I feel like I am more like a burden if anything.”
“It’s good, it tastes nice” he nodded, “I am definitely not the type to party all night- I never have and I don’t think I will. My family was really religious so that probably helps explain why I have had about one glass of wine in my life and don’t party” he shrugged, “You’re not a burden, they should be more considerate. Your apartment is a shared space, they’re not being very nice about it”

Diana smiled. “Yeah, wine is not the worst place to start in my opinion.” She told him. “Ugh, I am living with college students, and even though I am one myself I am not in my early 20′s anymore so I just needed some space and a quiet place to finish some work. Who would have thought a wine bar was more silent than my own home.”
“Yeah, I don’t mind wine I think it’s pretty good. I think I’ve drank it like....once, with my friend. And that’s about the extent of my drinking” he said with a small laugh, knowing that he was one of the least experienced drinkers she’d probably met. “Some people in their early 20′s aren’t so bad, you just got paired with some louder ones, I’m sorry to hear it. That must be a really difficult environment to get work done in” he said, knowing he wasn’t even 20 yet so he had to watch what he said to not let her know that he was way too young to be in this wine bar.

Diana nodded, glad he was happy with her choice. “Oh, I mean, don’t feel pressure to drink if you don’t want to!” She told him quickly, not wanting him to feel obliged to drink, just because she had bought it for him. “Its nice to meet you too Brendon.”
“Oh no, it’s fine, I’ve drank wine before with my best friend it wasn’t bad” he nodded, taking a sip of it. He would finish the drink, just very very slowly. “it’s not every day that you see someone out here doing work on their computer. What’re you doing anyway?”

Diana let out a light chuckle. “Is that so?” She said, clearly amused by his joke. “I regret not buying you a gin and tonic or something like that for your heroic effort.” She responded, before she took a sip of her glass. “Thank you anyway. I am Diana, by the way.” She introduced herself. “And whom may my hero be?”
“I’m sure I will be much happier with whatever it is that you’ve already bought for me” he smiled, “I don’t really do hard alcohol, I’m not a big drinker, so this is perfect thank you” he said sincerely, “I’m Brendon, it’s nice to meet you”

“Thank you!” Diana said before she made her way over to the bar. She decided to order two drinks, another one for her and one for the young man who’d offer to watch her stuff as a thank you. She paid and made her way back to her table, placed one glass down on her own and the other on his. “There, as a token of my gratitude for not letting my laptop with what feels like has been my whole life’s work stolen.” She smiled.
Brendon smiled when she came back, “Oh, thank you” he said sincerely. He had drank wine before with Verity, and he didn’t know how to awkwardly tell the stranger that he didn’t drink, so he decided it would just be better to suck it up and have a glass. “Like seven guys came in and tried to steal your laptop while you were gone and I had to fight them off, it was pretty heroic if you ask me” he joked

Diana took a large sip of the glass of wine she had ordered. After having been stuck inside for the majority of the day, her flatmates had started to arrive back home from whatever they had been doing, making it impossible for her to concentrate on the paper she was trying to write. Therefore, she had found her way down to the small wine bar located close to her apartment. “Ugh, I am out..” She mumbled to herself, before she looked to the person sitting to her left. “Um sorry, would you mind watching my laptop while I go order another glass of wine?” She asked them.
Brendon didn’t drink, but he liked the atmosphere of a few places in town where alcohol was served and him and Verity had gotten fakes so he could go out with her when she wanted to drink, so sometimes he would just go and sit at local areas alone. He found it calming. Although he didn’t look 21, he found it fairly easy to convince people that he was 21 and just looked young for his age, so he didn’t get much trouble from staff when he sat at wine bars. Turning his head when a girl spoke to him, he nodded, “Oh yeah of course, I’ll watch your stuff”

@brendonrulli
Trevor has joined Mia, who was now currently living with him due to her situation, to the food festival that was going on down town. He had been a little bit more excited than he cared to admit and had not eaten all day until they got there. When he got there, obviously he had been keen to try out as much as possible, but he ended up feeling a bit unwell. He had found a free seat at a bench a bit outside of the main event, where he was sipping some water from a bottle trying not to be sick.
Brendon got a little lost as he traveled around the international food festival, and he wasn’t sure where Verity had gone. She was one of his only close friends, so he wasn’t sure what to do with himself once he was alone in such a big crowd. Looking around, he saw someone sitting on a bench alone who didn’t look like he was doing too great. Walking over, Brendon spoke cautiously, “Hey are you okay? You don’t look too good...”

Verity chuckled “I know, you are such a good boy and also the lucky person who gets to make sure I don’t make a fool of myself.” She said “Ops, I mean Jean.” She quickly corrected herself before taking a final sip of her drink. “Gnocchi? Fine, we can do that!” Verity responded. “I am in serious need for pizza right now. Or a burger.”
“Making sure you don’t make a fool of yourself is a full time job, but I’m up for the challenge” he smiled, “Alright we need gnocchi, pizza, and burgers. That’s the list for now, we can definitely find those here”

“I am currently on my second cocktail of the day.” Verity said with a light chuckle. “Or, Jean is.” She added, seeing she was not 21 just yet. “But now I am in need of some food. I am thinking Italian, but I am not sure. Do you have any suggestions?” She asked.
“I’m on my second water of the day” he said, holding up his water bottle, it being well known that Brendon doesn’t drink. “If we’re getting italian first, we have to find somewhere with a good gnocchi because that’s my favorite”

“Perfect, lead the way.” Kathryn replied, thankful that Brendon seemed to be more acquainted with Portland than she was. She’d never been the best at actually going out and exploring. “I’ve been pretty great actually. I’ve just been pretty busy since I moved here so that’s why I haven’t been around much. How about yourself?”
Starting to walk, he moved at a slow pace to make sure she was walking next to him. “That’s good, I’m glad to hear it” he smiled, “You seem happier than most of the time when I saw you in New York, and I’m really happy to see that” he said, sincerely. “I’ve been good, I’ve been really good- just very busy, same as you. I’ve been really starting to take my dance classes seriously and it’s a lot of work so I’ve been kind of a loner because of it”

“Brendon, no!” Verity was quick to say. “It is always the man who reaches out first, that is just the unwritten rule.” She informed him before letting out a light chuckle. “Women are usually to scared to take the first step, besides women like feeling wanted or desired.” Verity did at least. She felt her cheek turn red as he once again brought up Dieter. “Oh stoop!” She said before letting out a light chuckle. “I highly doubt he had Tinder! He seemed to be too classy for that stuff.” She shrugged.
“Why is that an unspoken rule?” he shook his head, “That’s not fair, guys are scared to take the first step too! And we want to feel wanted and desired too, I don’t like that rule” he said, smiling over at her when she spoke again. “You’re totally blushing! Ooh did he seem too classy for it” he joked, smiling, “Well if he does have one, you have to swipe right on him”

Connor smiled at the boy, “That’s good! Maybe Ellie will cooperate and let us have a movie night. Or we could break out the board games?” he suggested as he watched his children. “Or we could just alternate who holds the phone while the rest of us try to get Ellie to crawl to us, always fun.”
“That sounds really fun, yeah” he smiled, “I’m down for either, movies or board games” he said before laughing at Connor’s next comment. “I am determined to get her to crawl to me, we’ll get it on video eventually” he smiled, making a funny face at Ellie to get her to laugh.
