The more I think about it, the more I want to go with the second option. Maybe I can satisfy my need for Adam to go ‘wtf why am I in Bass’s (god I love making stupid exorcist names) stupid comics’ by letting him out in Adaline’s dreams, which she remembers vaguely. Like, he fully crashes out every night only for Adaline to wake up and regard whatever she experienced as some sort of fever dream. He eventually accepts that he’s happy with Lucille and as Adaline, only for Lucille to clearly become possessed by Lucifer which pisses him off to no end. A version of him is finally, finally, fucking happy and this dick has to ruin it.

Adam: MOTHERFUCKER you basically already won! The only version of me that is enjoying life is your fucking wife! In this universe I literally blush everytime you come near and you are 100% the provider in the relationship! You literally dress like Lady Oscar (yes I know Rose of Versailles, fucking Bass again) and call yourself the Crown Prince!!! You won in the original world and here! Except here, I’m also fucking happy! MOTHERFUCKER I AM CARRYING YOUR KID! Don’t fuck it up!

Adaline the Next Morning: Dear, I don’t know why, but I had a dream last night where I was very cross with you. I fear the pregnancy woes may be getting to me. Perhaps we should take a trip down to Light and Ede’s estate. It would make me feel so much better to see how happy we all are.

Lucifer (Internally): EVE AND LILITH ARE FUCKING????

Otome Isekai Adamsapple

I’ve had the basics for an OI/Villainess AdamsApple AU stirring around in my head for a while. First of all, Adam fits so many of the reincarnated/transmigrated villainess tropes, it’s actually insane.

Gets cheated on by his partner from an arranged marriage TWICE

Is cheated on with a smaller, more delicate romantic option

Is seen as an unrepentant bitch (in his case asshole)

Likely (hopefully!) has an actual backstory which either explains most of his ‘evil’ deeds or shows that he isn’t as bad as people think (please, Viv, make Adam 3 dimensional!! I will literally do anything)

Seemingly doomed by the original narrative

Perfect material for regression/reincarnation/a second chance (as seen by the multitude of fanfic regarding the subject)

The basic premise I have currently for my take on this idea is:

Adam is reincarnated into a new world (fantasy/OI inspired) which is kind of an alternate of the main Hazbin universe.

The majority of people in this world are genderbent (mainly because I am a sucker for yuri and I am not ashamed of that fact). So Lilith is Light, Adam is Adaline, Eve is Ede, Lucifer is Lucille, Sera is Seran, ETC (also the names are lowkey dorky because OI names are ridiculous 99% of the time. I have legitimately read one where the love interest is named Aquastead. I think the same one had a girl named Tiararose. It is tradition for the names to be kind of ridiculous).

Similar to the Eden story, the original story (because most OI has a person reincarnating into a pre-existing narrative before it occurs, usually with them knowing how things plays out, or regressing back in time after the story has unfolded) plays out with Adaline losing her fiance (arranged) to Lucille not once, but twice. The second time, however, she is forced to stay with Ede. She tries to kill Lucille while she is pregnant with the heir to the kingdom, Charles, and is executed alongside her loyal handmaiden (Lute).

This is where I have two places the story could go:

Adam knows he is reincarnated, gaining his memories from his previous life when an apple falls out of a tree and hits his head. We get the typical OI dilemma when someone has lived a life and suddenly remembers their previous life (‘Who am I?’). Adam decides to deal with that fuckery at a later time, realizing that they have been reborn into an Otome world. How does Adam know what Otome is? One of his exorcist girls was super into the genre and would talk his ear off about it. After realizing the people in his life, like his fiance, are very similar to those in his past life, he understands that he is probably going to go through similar events. Maybe he gets a flash of what the future could be. At this point, he is approached by Light and Lucille. He has his engagement broken off and is humiliated. Yet the pair are shocked that Adaline seems far more interested in getting the hell away from everything over screaming like her usual self. Even her new fiance Ede notices that Adaline seems far more interested in getting the hell out of dodge than making Light jealous. This leads to Lucille deciding that pursing Ede and Light is boring. She is much more interested in Adaline, who seems to know so much more than she is letting on. Cue Adam trying to escape the narrative with Lute while being aggressively pursued by the main character of the world Lucille. They of course end up together, Lucille making Adaline the Crown Princess consort. Similar to the anime ‘Bureaucrat to Villainess (Spoilers for that) where the main character (beloved Dad, seriously watch the show it rocks) is watched by his wife and child through the game he was reincarnated into,the cast of Hazbin (maybe narrowing down to the Hotel Residents + Lucifer and some Heaven residents) can see Adam’s reincarnated life unfold on the television as it is presented in the form of an otome game.

Adam is reincarnated and only has vague dreams about his old life, never being awakened fully to his old memories. Adaline doesn’t go down the original path, however, her subconscious leading her away from destruction. One fanfic idea I have always thought is interesting is what if Adam was ‘wiped clean’ in some way (reincarnated/memory loss/return to Eden mindset) and became the sole decider of if redemption could be allowed. His say so is needed to lift the redeemed souls from purgatory, where they endlessly slumber, into Heaven. God sends this decree down, so Lucifer has to go locate Adam and force him to make his babygirl’s dream a reality. Only, Sera is nervous to tell him that Adam seems to have been reincarnated in one of the pocket universes created in the beginning. Lucifer has to go on a mission, remind Adam of who he is and bring him back to reality. He is synced up with the version of himself from this universe, Lucille. The narrative of the Otome world, however, has moved on and ended. Lucifer wakes up to a sleeping Adaline next to him. He quickly realizes that the version of him he thought he was getting into (as he had been debriefed on how the story was supposed to unfold) went completely off-script and chose Adaline over Light. He now has to decide if ruining the happiness this version of him and the amnesiac Adam has is worth it, especially with Adaline having a child on the way. Bonus points if, again, everyone at home is watching.

I will probably write this at some point as the pull of yurifying every ship I like as well as the OI genre in general is too strong. If anyone else is inspired by this, please feel free to write. I crave yuri Adamsapple in general.

Light - Cold Duke of the North, Magic Tower Leader, The type to go ‘…Interesting’

Ede - Second ML syndrome to a T, himbo knight, warm Duke of the South, Golden Retriever Prince, Foreign Prince, could probably have a decent redemption arc

Seran - The Sane Choice (the one that we logically know is the best/healthiest choice, but that we will never pick because we crave drama), The green/blue haired glasses secretarial character (even though he has white hair), Aide to the ML, Initially distrusting of the FL before he realizes she may be the only other sane person around, dresses in suits which are not time period accurate but look good anyways
