How much water does briary add to their squash?? Also how much of a fan of squash are they?

Bruce adds SO much water, to the point where many would consider it a crime. Diary tends toward the stronger side, but still within the normal range--typically a little less than 4:1.

Squash was quite a discovery for our Bruce, who was essentially raised by an American. Diary was was familiar with the concept, though, and brought some home from Tesco one day when she was feeling fruity an adventurous. She left the kitchen for two minutes after bringing in the groceries, which was unfortunately just enough time for Bruce to see the squash, pour a whole glass of it, and take a big gulp... needless to say he was traumatized. So, yeah, he's a bit overly cautious when it comes to preparing his squash now.

But that's not to say he doesn't enjoy it!! Diary typically sees squash as a nice treat on summer days, often opting for hot drinks when the weather turns, but Bruce isn't picky and will pour himself a glass whenever he's in the mood for it.

They usually have both lemon and apple/black current squash on hand :)

Movies movies movies. Bruce and Diary love movies, regardless of if they're going out to the cinema or cozying up for a night in. There's something about seeing stories that belong to people (who they aren't already privy to the intimate details of) playing out before them-- stories that end, and that they can walk away and move on from when the screen goes black.

Bruce has a special love for puzzling. He has a whole shelf dedicated to jigsaws and a few hanging framed on the walls. When people come over for the first time, they're always surprised the collection doesn't belong to Diary, being the quieter and more introverted of the two, but there's something about the searching and the finding of the pieces, and the actual assimilation, that brings him a lot of comfort. He loves listening to music while he puzzles, or using the time to think about things his brain doesn't have the focus for most of the time.

Callie (the calico plushie Bruce got Diary) sits on Diary's lap while she works from home. The cat becomes a comfort to her, and will often bear the weight of any anxiety attacks Diary may have while Bruce isn't home or available to ground her

Diary desperately wants a cat, but Bruce is tragically allergic. One day, he comes home with a stuffed calico cat, and sets it on the kitchen counter next to the tea kettle for Diary to discover, and when she does her face brightens immediately. She cuddles the cat, gives Bruce a kiss on the cheek, and promptly names the stuffed animal Callie 🐱

Bruce loves hikes and will go on holiday just to scale a mountain. Diary is less a fan, usually preferring to sip tea and work on crosswords and sudoku puzzles at a cafe while Bruce goes on his planned escapades

Diary works in numbers and analytics, so she can build and navigate through spreadsheets like nobody's business. Sometimes Bruce likes to pour himself a lemonade and just watch her work on them, bc "it's magic, I swear"

Bruce is a Leo, Diary is a Cancer.

The age gap between Diary and Bruce isn't really a problem, but Diary still loves to tease Bruce about it. The word "baby" isn't just a term of endearment in the briary household 👶

Since discovering (and devouring) Hannah Montana on a streaming service, Bruce and Diary will just randomly break into the Cheese Jerky rap whenever they feel the situation warrants it. Bruce is always the man with the cheese, and Diary is the man with the jerky

Diary uses earthy, woody scents for herself, while Bruce leans toward citrus 🍊

Bruce is the nosy neighbor. Most of the other people in their building have learned to avoid him because he will absolutely pry information from them out of pure curiosity. Diary has had to privately apologize on a couple occasions for her partner's tactlessness

Diary is a Tea Snob™ and Bruce learned very early on not to touch the tea or the kettle, and that he'll never know the right amount of milk and sugar to add to Diary's cuppa

Bruce is British, but because he was basically raised by Emma, he adopted a lot of American culture and coloquialisms. Add that to the fact that Diary speaks like it's still Victorian London, and we end up having quite a few miscommunications and little lessons about each one's version of English
