  “I’ve been hearing a strange amount of requests for forgiveness lately. First your fiancée and now you.” Eva observed, looking at Victor perplexed. Knowing about Victor’s family and fiancée would have made introductions less awkward especially if they are to make others believe the cousins cover story. Bonding with his family, even more with Elizabeth, could strengthen their story with less questions from outsiders.

  “I hope I didn’t cause an issue between you two. I want Elizabeth to like me. I wish to be friends.” Eva confided in him. She spent most of her time with Victor and desired new company. Different people she could connect with. Real people not just those in books. Talking about anything and everything.

"Forgive me, Eva, I should have better prepared you." But Victor as usual hadn't thought about Elizabeth. But when constructing the little ruse about his latest creation being his cousin he'd given no more care to his adopted sister and fiancee than he had one of the lamps or rugs that adorned his ancestral home.

A human simply existing instead of with a supposed divine purpose. Maybe one day she could accept herself fully. She possessed more time than others.
