what is wild to me is that in the span of 10 minutes penelope went from the idea of colin bridgerton even liking me back is preposterous! to a fucking marriage proposal from that guy 10 MINUTES

I can't resist talking about something: Colin Bridgerton is amazing because that man gets off on getting Penelope off. He gets so turned on that he can make her so turned on, that she's so responsive to his touches and his body. You can see her pleasure is his priority, always. It's gorgeous to see.

can we talk about how Colin was showing genuine anger towards El for the mere thought of her sharing that he was helping Pen find a husband in any way. he never raises his voice to his siblings or hardly ever gets angry but even the thought of one of them hurting Pen had him snapping… they hadn’t even kissed or been intimate yet and he was ready to throw everyone under the bus for Penelope.

it’s the way he looks so proud of himself when he says he misses her. like he’s finally said the right thing that will bring his pen back instead of whoever he’s talking to right now. the pen who smiles and blushes when he pays her a compliment. who hangs on his every word and makes him feel ten feet tall. well sorry col, but that penelope can’t come to the phone right now. she’s never gonna look at you that way again. but if you’re lucky, and you are, she’ll look at you in a way where she sees you for exactly who you are and loves every bit of it.

I saw a man saying that women “obsessing” over the Penelope x colin carriage scene are weird. But have they ever considered that we often seek out and love this media because in real life it isn’t often that women are adored. Colin LOVES her, worships her, he wasn’t concerned with his pleasure in that carriage…he was concerned with hers and hers only. Proceeded to ask if she consented (with his eyes but you know), and then loved her while they were intimate. Held eye contact, ensured she was looking nice when they stopped, it’s precious and it’s RAREEEE!! Is it that hard for men to understand that a lot of women just crave love, affection and genuine intimacy?

i’ll just be having a normal night and then i remember how the first time colin kissed pen you can hear him panting into her mouth and then i’ll remember how every time he’s near her after that he can barely breathe or you can hear his heart pounding and then i’ll remember how he couldn’t even tell her his feelings during the ball because he literally could not breathe with her right there in front of him like she was stealing all his air again and the way he looks down at her mouth was like he so desperately wanted her to make his head stop spinning and fill his lungs with her because she’s consumed him and then i’ll remember–

And when she said they were just friends he backed up, with TEARS in his eyes, like he was devastated but still backed down. it’s hitting me now just how significant penelope’s “your eyes are the most remarkable shade of blue, yet somehow they shine even brighter when you’re kind” line is because in that moment she completely stripped away his armor and saw his vulnerability and kindness and told him that’s what makes him more remarkable than any front he puts on

polin are perfect cause they are the most horrendously down bad for each other losers in history like Colin went so insane after their first kiss HE BOUGHT AND ATE THE SAME CUPCAKE AS PEN SO HE COULD TASTE HER AGAIN. and Pen didnt even realize she was gonna be seriously injured CAUSE SHE WAS TO BUSY STARING AT HIS ARMS in the balloon scene. i love these horny nerds.

did anyone else catch that in bridgerton s3 when colin is asked by other lads how many places he went he says he lost count but tells penelope he visited 17 cities UNPROMPTED because she's the only one who has never made him feel annoying or snotty for talking about his travels

#this part almost broke me #penelope was willing to let him go #she couldn’t stand the thought of forcing him to stay married to her only out of honor #the way she says “your” instead of “our” family even though he had already referred to her as now a part of their family #she didn’t want him to feel trapped #she was willing to lose the love of her life so he could be happy #but HIS FACE says everything #he is surprised and a little pained #he almost looks amazed that she would even say it #because he never truly wanted to be without her #but i think her being willing to protect him made him love her even more #don’t look at me

I'm that type of romantic that actually was really touched about the small things about Colin "Last of the Romantics'' Bridgerton: - Colin defending her, telling her he loved her first and being silly just to make her laugh, happy to dance with her and make her feel beautiful and loved, already so excited that he acts like she's already Mrs. Bridgerton and once she actually is, he clearly loves saying "My wife", being happy to show her their home together; - Colin making sure their first time was good for her, making all about her pleasure and taking pleasure on her enjoyment, reassuring her all the way through and after ; - Colin not being able to pretend he's unhappy about marrying her, encouraging her to come to him at the altar. He was an emotional mess because he loves her and it showed, from his smile, dancing with her, to kissing her and caressing her face: - Colin repressing himself, trying not to sleep with her not because he doesn't love or desire her but because he is the type of guy that needs them to be perfectly connected for that, because that's how it was with her, he loves her and when they did make love it was a complete connection to him and anything less taints what they have, if he still has negative feelings and doubts, but being "weak" when she says i love you, his brain short-circuits and his heart and body acted; - Colin feeling lonely and admitting to himself that it was mostly because Pen didn't reply to his letters, him keeping her letters, and smiling to himself while he reads it; - Colin so heartbroken and sad and yet he is there, in their home, sleeping on that fucking couch but there, not on the streets making her feel insecure about his whereabouts; - Colin learning to love equally, accepting and respecting, admiring her, taking pleasure on her success, unafraid of confessing his feelings and his issues, letting himself be helped and loved back... Those are a few of the things that i love about Colin this season...yes, he lashed out unfairly sometimes, he was stubborn and had his ego bruised at times, but he learned and he never stopped trying to protect her, even if with the wrong approach at times. That, my friends, means to me way more than many sex scenes. But that's just me, i like the details, the in between the lines.

At first, i thought the whole Colin teaching Pen would be a bit of a mess, but then it becomes clear that he's not teaching anything other than telling her she's already great, she's smart and charming and that she should show the world how great she is and, by being whom she really is, she would surely make men fall for her. That he was too damn dense to understand that this was clearly how HE saw her, how wonderful she was, and that SHE was everything that he wanted & admired in a woman makes everything even tastier. Bless that kiss. He found his way home and never left.

after declaring how he feels about her, making out with her, fingering her, the thing that makes colin decide he wants to marry her wasn't an act of lust or passion. it was when the carriage stopped, they realized where they were, and had a laugh together. in about 5 seconds he realized in that moment that he wanted to spend the rest of his life laughing with her and making her laugh.
