Let me make one thing abundantly clear. If you:
are a folkist, volkist, odinist, nazi or any other type of racist,
are a TERF, radfem, tradwife, or any other form of transphobic "feminist",
exclude people out of the queer community (like trans, aro/ace, or bi/pan people)
exclude people out of the witch community (like trans, men, or Christian witches),
You are not welcome here. May your speech dry up and your communities turn to dust and crumble.
I will not be pulled into any "discussion" or "discourse" (I don't have the will or the patience, I am not Bree). I said what I said, if you do not agree, make it easier on yourself and block me. If you do try to debate with me or try to tell me your stupid views and opinions, you will be blocked and deleted.

Common Witch Misconceptions Pt. 1
Here are some common misconceptions I see both in and out of our witchy community.
We are all pagan.
This is very common, even in witch circles. There are many witches that aren't religious, many witches that follow religions that are not pagan (such as Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Shinto, etc.), and many witches that are atheists or agnostic.
We are all Wiccan.
Just... nope. Wicca is a religion, it does incorporate witchcraft, but witchcraft has been around a lot longer than Wicca has.
We all believe in the Three-Fold Law.
Again, nope. This is a Wiccan rule. It's a doctrine that Wiccans follow, not witches.
We all worship the Devil/Lucifer/Satan.
I'd say most of us don't even believe that the Devil exists. However, to those who do, most of them don't worship him. And to those who do worship him, they are not bad people and often see Lucifer in a different light than how Christians see him.
We aren't critical thinkers.
Hey, hi, hello, this one really bothers me. I understand thinking that we might be a little odd, but we aren't dumb or idiots for having a different spirituality than you. Many of us (at the least 4,000 on tumblr) are actually very into skepticism for witchcraft and believe that it is important to have!
Our magic is like the movies.
Nope. Not even close. All of the magic that I have experienced has been purely spiritual. I have never been able to summon fire, or move something telekinetically, or have those sorts of physical results.
Look out for part two! Hope this helps to dispell some misconceptions!

“White Pagans were treated horribly and mass murdered in Europe.” is a complete sentence. You don’t need to add “too.”
You can acknowledge the suffering of your ancestors without diminishing the suffering of another culture.  Telling someone to stop complaining about the persecution of their ancestors because your ancestors “were persecuted too” is just ugly.

Note
Does the witch community accept other religious practices?
Witchcraft isn't a religion, so yes you can have whatever religious practices along with practicing your craft.

Non-Magical Benefits from Witchcraft!
Hey there my Witchlings! I want to show my fellow Skeptics real benefits that you can experience with practicing witchcraft without being a full believer in magic or the metaphysical!
Grounding can help you calm yourself down when you are anxious.
Doing rituals and spells are a great way to help create a physical reminder of what you want in life.
Crystals make excellent worry stones for you to stim with.
Some herbs can actually help relieve common illness symptoms (but they cannot cure illnesses).
Meditation can help you practice visualization, which is useful for artists!
Learning about witchcraft can help you understand other cultures and the way they interacted with spirituality. Education is always a benefit imo.
Spell jars help to remind you of goals.
Manifesting is a detailed way of putting out what you want to achieve in your life and reminding you what you want. It's just like setting a goal plan (please don't forget to actually act on whatever you're manifesting though).
Creating an Altar Space can create a calming place for you to relax.
If you have a deity, or you work with spirits, you can vent your problems to them and get things off your chest.
Having a ritual routine can help you create a schedule, or stick to a schedule, which can be beneficial for mental health.
Listening to Reiki ASMR is surprisingly peaceful and can reduce anxiety as well as help calm you or ground you.
Introspection is very important in witchcraft, and it's also just important in general, understanding yourself, your core beliefs, will help you.
And there are many more! Witchcraft "works" in many ways, so, now that we know that, we can have fun even while remaining skeptical.

Daily reminder that:
Witchcraft and the metaphysical cannot cure mental illness, physical illness, or disorders.
Mental health symptoms are not signs your "third eye" is opening.
Spreading misinformation about what the metaphysical can do actively hurts people.
You have to believe scientists. That's not up for debate.

Yall, please do not skip therapy. The therapist needs to be there to help you process your emotions after the cards bitch slap you with your own stupidity.
