AU: After months of teasing and flirting, Stiles finally picks up the courage to ask Erica out on a date for valentines day. On the date they talk for hours, opening up their feelings to each other and confirming that they’ve both liked each other for a very long time. They both agree to rent a hotel room for the night, where they eat strawberries and whipped cream by the fireplace, before things pick up and get hot and steamy for the night.

“A training montage, huh?” she asked, quirking an eyebrow.  “Derek said I could stay with him and I think I’m going to take him up on it.  Honestly, I don’t know if my parents should know I’m back.  I’m pretty sure they moved too, and it’s for the best.  They’re better off without me,” she shrugged.

Derek liked seeing that smile back, and was glad they could steer the conversation to a happier subject. “Of course we can. Just need to get you a passport, and we can go. Or, you can go. Something tells me he won’t want to see me.”

“That might require telling my parents I’m alive, and I’m not too sure I want to do that,” she explained.  They were better off without her anyways.  “Why wouldn’t he want to see you?”

He didn’t really have any ideas – and after his dad had been injured, he’d definitely considered it, but his dad would never leave. And Stiles didn’t exactly get his stubbornness just from his mom. “Because Scott needs me. My best friend is here. My dad won’t leave. I can’t leave them here on their own, you know?“

“He did?  He always seemed fine whenever I saw him,” she pointed out.  Maybe that was because she never actually saw him at the height of his first few full moons.  “You could, you just don’t want to, and for good reason.  Just like I don’t want to leave on my own.  I don’t have anywhere to go anyways.”
