Hello! I must ask if you have some tutorials, tips, etc. about drawing/designing buildings such as houses, schools, and the larger scale stuff like towns. Also wanted to say that I appreciate the help you're doing!! Love from the Philippines : ) <3

Hi there! Thanks for the great question!

Before we begin focusing on drawing buildings, I strongly suggest making sure you are solid on the fundamentals, especially perspective. 

And here’s an image generator to practice perspective:

Perspective Practice

Being able to imagine squares and spheres and curved objects in 3D and being able to render them properly with respect to perspective will be essential. 

Most buildings are a collection of boxes! I think looking around will be really useful for inspiration. In addition, I think looking up a brief history of architecture on like wikipedia might be useful too. That way, your buildings can be more interesting than just a bunch of boxes. 

Like look at the imagination and vision for that design! Great work. (That’s the first image off the wikipedia article on architecture I linked above. 

I would go find some great references and do a series of studies as well. This will help train your hand eye coordination as well as give you a foundation of aesthetics you like.

These image references don’t require credit. There’s a lot of other great stock out there, but if you are required to credit, do not forget to credit!

Another great way to practice building design is to use the lovely and free sketchup software: https://www.sketchup.com

Once you have experimented with all of that, I think you should have a solid foundation to design your own buildings from imagination!

Buildings are mostly just an accumulation of simple, geometric shapes arranged in a functional yet aesthetic way. 

Same goes for towns, which are a collection of buildings. Though when rendering towns, don’t forget that human eyes process color & light differently depending if the building is close or far.
