Draft one & feedback
This is the draft of the two-minute opening of the film we have created. I know this is the two minutes of opening, however, I showed it to my family, without telling them the context of what it is. As this is a two-minute film opening, it was cut in between the scenes. They were all quiet at that time. They asked what happened to the other part. Why have you not made it all? This feedback was great. I was happy to hear that because this was a two-minute film opening, not a short film that would have any conclusion. Then, I showed it to my teachers and classmates and got their feedback.
Here is the feedback from each of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These were the feedbacks that my team and I got on our media product. Overall, we could see that the audience was enjoying the opening, and they loved most of the things, however, they were concerned about it getting cut abruptly. They all wanted to see the whole story. Overall, this tells that the opening was good enough as in opening the whole story can't be understand, however audience can get to know the context.
I personally sat down, watched it more than 10 times, and noted down all the issues observed, even though my cinematographer saw it. The actor's name and the cinematographer's name were missing.
Things that I observed apart from these were that on the caption Aarav's name was small and the background music of the title was to soft and low.

Edit day three
On the third day of editing, we started with the soud mixing and finidng the backgrou sound.
For the background, I chose a horror erie sound, which aligns with the theme of horror. I also used different background music for the bedroom scene where Aarav is drawing vigorously. I chose this music because it creates suspense and curiosity in the audience after hearing it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we started working on sound mixing, where we adjusted the sound as per the need. I kept the background in the market scene so that the background music wouldn't be sudden when the title came. Also, for the hall scene, I used Ram Sutra bhajana background music as there was a scene of performing rituals. Then, the editor balanced the music as per the camera angles. When we see the location of the sound coming out, we try to make the sound come from that side — for example, in the Ram Sutra bhajan, we balanced the sound from right to left of the screen.
Tumblr media
Then, we gave the transition to the credits, where we wrote the names of the director, editor, cinematographer, and Production designer. Also, we included the actor's name. We gave Fade in and out.
Tumblr media
Then, with this, we started creating the title in Photoshop. I wanted to show blood to create the creepiness and danger as planned while we all were thinking of the font size.
Tumblr media
Then, we added the locket sketch with some black magic dolls inside the locket to signify horror. This added more depth and meaning to the title of my product.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the title and locket, we first placed the title in one of the layers, and then, by adding a new layer with the locket, we erased all the parts of the locket, especially the chain, according to us, as we wanted the locket to be wrapped around the title.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lastly, while doing the color grading, there was some issue with scene 3 as there was a lot of lighting. As mentioned in the edit day one, where 30 to 40 percent was remaing. The editor masked it by using roto brush, and then adjusted the light and gave the color grading after the editing was completed. This was all the end process of this edit day.

Edit day two
On the second day, we started with the color grade. Initially, our color grading was around 60 to 70 percent completed. Additionally, after a day, when we went through the edit, the editor and I felt that the color grading was not looking that good. The yellowish tone was more, and then we started working on it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, over time, when we made the changes, we realized it was not looking good. The previous was better, and it was shooting well with the morning atmosphere as we wanted. However, the remaining grading was still remaining. We thought, in this, it will require a lot of time due to the masking, as the editor has to use roto brush to do all the masking.
Tumblr media
Then, we started adding SFX. To do this we used non digetic sound. We used YouTube to get all the SFX, such as door opening, walking, ambience sound, and background music. Even though in our footage there was a soud of each things, but it had lot's of ambience sound. Additionaly, that was no very impactfull. We used this sounds and it gave lot's of freedom to the editor to create the same emotion, through the sound.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once we collected all the sounds, we then used Wondershare UniConverter to convert all the videos into audio. As soon as this was done, the editor transported all the sound files into Adobe Premiere Pro.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, we created a folly to use in our media product. One is the grunting of Aarav, and secondly, tearing the paper. As Aarav was possessed by some spirit, and he has all the control, then there must be a change in the voice of Aarav if the spirit is grunting. Aarav's voice was too kiddish, so then I took the initiative and created the grunting sound. This all shows that there is someone else inside Aarav. Once the editing was done and sound was placed perfectly, it was better than expected.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, for the tearing of the paper, the whole group sat together, where I was tearing all the paper and crumbling them to get the exact sound. My editor used a sound recorder app and recorded all the sounds of paper tearing and crumbling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once it was all done, then we sat down to synchronise all the sound effects with the action. It was difficult for my editor to match due to the different pace of the music and action, however, we managed to synchronise.
Tumblr media
Once this was done, then we saw the magic. Initially, the whole video was boring and seemed uninteresting, however, as soon as the SFX got added, the two minutes film started to show emotion and add depth in it. It wasn't flat as it was before. We could see and feel the emotion due to the music.
Tumblr media
Once this was done, we removed the lens distortion, as we were shooting some top angles.
Tumblr media
Lastly, we wrote down all the credits and caption of the two minutes film opening and finished the edit of day two. However, the sound mixing and background music remained.

Edit day one
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now comes the post-production, where my team and I were excited to bring our project to the next level. I was excited, my whole group sat down together, and we started.
Tumblr media
Initially, my editor started listing down all the final shots from the footage folder, and then he shifted all the final shots to the source folder and imported them into Adobe Premiere Pro. To do the edit, we chose the app Adobe Premiere Pro.
Tumblr media
On the day of the edit, my editor and I decided to do the edit to finish as much work as possible. First, as soon as we completed collecting the final takes, we started jotting down all the work that we were going to do, like sequencing, color grading, Sound effects, and title, etc. Once the sequencing of the footage and cutting the extra parts were done. We had a lot more time left when we finished the colour grading.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once finished shortlisting this footage then we started by cutting the footage and arranging it in the timeline. Once we started sequencing the footage files to create the opening, there were lots of different ideas in the group, including mine. It created some conflicts regarding the sequencing of the scene with my editor. However, we figured it out and went for the best options for us. We had 5 shots for the market scene, however, we only used 4 as we felt one of them was extra. Also, we paid our full attention to the continuity of the film, where my editor used to identify the jerks and fixed them with the correct posture and movement as per the change in the shot.
Tumblr media
On the shoot day, we shot a total of nine scenes however, we used only four full scenes and half of the fifth scene. As per the plan, things were good. We planned to shoot extra so that on the edit table, the footage is enough because once it becomes less, then it will create a huge problem, and we have to call the actors again and set up all the things and shoot.
After this, we started witht the color grading, where initially we did the color correction with help Lumetri Color.
Tumblr media
Here, I had multiple conflicts with my editors just because my thought process did not match his, as he was suggesting certain things, which I used to find not to be good, however, we decided to do both and check which shot worked best. In the first scene itself, I wanted to keep one of the scenes where Varsha is at the vegetable shop; however, in the edit, we removed it because it was not looking good.
Tumblr media
Over time, I understood that we started cooperating and implementing very ideas and checking which shoots well. Some of the shots I found not to be so good, then I decided to remove all of those.
Tumblr media
The cinematographer also gave his input in the color grading and in terms of sequencing the scene, and we three decided which things to keep and which to remove.
Tumblr media
The color grading that we decided to give is oranges, a yellowish color, which will showcase the energetic morning, and then once the afternoon is there, the color grading will be bright yellow. To do this all, we stareted first with the adjustment layer, where editor added the adjustment layer to clips and then we started doing the colour grading.
Tumblr media
In the market scenes, the thought process was to not reveal the main actors first. Even though they are being scene, they are in the focus, and they will be introduced at the end of scene 1 where the intro will take place.
Tumblr media
One of the extra scenes that were shot on the shooting day, the scene where Aarav enters the bedroom, was taken in the two minutes opening and was used. This was the end of day one of editing. We were only able to finish 60 to 70 percent of the colour grading due to some issues, and extra work was needed in one of the scenes of Varsh, where the editor had to do all the masking. These parts were remaining.

Shoot day two
Tumblr media
Here comes my second day of the shoot, which was not as challenging as day one. Not only I, but my whole team and even the actors were quite fast, and they were used to things. Everything went quite fast.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We initially started with the easy part, where we recorded all the conversational scenes between Vansh and Varsha. We had multiple over-the-shoulder shots with some two shots.
Once this is all done, then comes the scene where Arav, Vansh, and Varsha get up from the lunch table. In this, we had to shoot the point of view of Arav, however, there was no food to shoot. This created the problem, however, there was rice as a lunch, and then we added some ketchup to the rice and made the look like yesterday's food.
However, due to some misunderstanding, one of the team members didn't bring the clothes and utensils; he kept them at home, which took lots of time to go back home and bring them. This took lots of time.
As things proceeded, the number of takes was reduced. On this day, we were supposed to shoot the kitchen and hall. In one of the scenes, Vansh enters the room after coming from the sports club. Varsha had to broom and act. The choreography done by me took lots of time. To reduce the timing of that scene, I had to change it and keep it as quick as possible.
Tumblr media
For most of the scenes, I tried to maintain the 180-degree rule.
Keeping the continuity was a little challenging, as on day one, some of the things were taken back home, and then once bought, we had to rearrange them to their places. I cinematographer and went through the footage and told the PD.
Same as the day one, on the day two multiple shots were canceled. As we proceeded ahead, I decided and discussed with my team and cut off scene 10 as there was a lot of footage, which was enough for us.
Tumblr media
Here, the camera is one and the shoot was going one, where I was continuously looking at the camera and making sure that there must not be any kind of mistake.
Tumblr media
This is the scene where Varsha is cutting the vegetables, and suddenly, the blood comes out. This was one of the great shots, which I found to be. As this had blood involvement and the lighting was good.
Here are some of the screenshots of the scene recorded.

Shoot day one
This was one of the greatest days of my life. This was the first time I was going to direct. Though it was very stressful for me, but gave me extreme pleasure once things were done.
Tumblr media
On the first day of the shoot, my actors were late. Though it was not good, it acted in favour of my team. It gave some extra time for my PD to arrange and set the design for the shoot.
On day one of the shoot, as per the schedule, which I planned based on the time, location, and actors' availability. My first scene to be recorded was the market scene. I wanted to show the morning scheme of the market, where Arav and Varsha buy vegetables and head for home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As soon as the actors arrived, the PD started looking at their costumes and doing some make-up, which was needed. Also, she started working on the props, where she arranged the bag for the vegetables. Simultaneously, my cinematographer was checking the camera and arranging the tripod. I also started taking the reading of the actors and started guiding them regarding the location and how they will hold the bags and walk—everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here comes the real problem. In our script, we decided to shoot the scene and show Varsha and Aarav buying vegetables and coming, however, the vegetable owner was not ready. Then, I had to make some changes to the plan. Instead of showing Varsha buying the vegetables, we decided to take the long shot of Varsha coming from the vegetable shop. We just shot the scene where she had some vegetables with her and she turned around and headed for home from the vegetable shop.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, while we were shooting on the market, there was a problem with the people. As they saw the camera, everyone surrounded the cinematographer and started asking questions, which used to create problems. Also, we were a little uncomfortable due to the crowd. Then, I moved away from my cinematographer with the actors. I inform them about how they have to walk and till what place. I was on call with my cinematographer to inform him when to roll the camera, etc.
Tumblr media
While my cinematographer, actors, and I were shooting the first scene in the market. My PD was preparing the set for the bedroom scene.
Once the market shoot was done, we shot all the scenes in the bedroom. My priority after the market scene was to shoot all the scenes where Aarav was needed. All the scenes of the Bedroom included Arav, so we tried to finish that. As per the plan, we knew that this would help to reduce the budget, too.
Tumblr media
Once the shoot of the market was completed, as per the schedule, we headed towards the bedroom scene. I first instructed my actors regarding where he has to sit, what actions they would have to perform. Also, the emotion which he has to show, while drawing. I did and explained to him about taking deep breath and do grunting while drawing on the paper.
I mostly worked with the cinematographer and actors. Before the shooting started, I took the reading of my actors again. I looked at their voice modulation while saying the dialogues and corrected them by acting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are some of the working stills, where I am engaging with actors and telling them and choreographing them how to act, express, and what things have to change.
Tumblr media
I worked closely with the cinematographer and looked for framing and composition. As per my need, if things are okay. I mostly tried to follow the rule of thirds.
Tumblr media
I always looked at the framing and focus, but my job didn't end there I had to talk with the actors and guide them to come into the frame and arrange everything, as in some scenes, I wanted to capture certain parts of the background, there I can't tell my cinematographer to move.
Tumblr media
Most of the time, the movement continuity becomes the problem. I had to make sure that actors were present in the same place as the shot one, showing that while editing, it didn't create problems. The above image shows the same thing, where I am telling my actors to move a little so that the place he sat in shot one becomes the same.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Every time a shot was taken, I had to look at them and check whether they were perfect and looked the same as I wanted or if there was any problem. Most of the time, when we had to take multiple shots, due to some focus issues and actors' mistakes, it became a lot more frustrating. However, with this, I learned to control and have patience and improve the shots.
Tumblr media
Once the bedroom shots were done, we started with scene two, where Aarav was shown entering the room. In this image, we can see that Aarav had to hide behind the wall as there was no bedroom next to it.
The location of the bedroom was a different place. The hall, kitchen, and bedroom were not all together.
On the first day, on the set, I had to shoot 1 extra scene, which came to mind. which shows Arav entering the bedroom. While shooting there were multiple thoughts came into my mind, and I told my team to shoot and keep it for the safer side. I had to cut down multiple shots, as initially, while creating the shot decision, we put lots of the camera angle and movement learned in the class, however as the shoot began, I realized and learned that it's not necessary to keep a lot's of angles, as that will become too much. If I can convey the story with fewer shot angles with meaning, then I don't have to go for more. Therefore, I cut down those shots.
At the end, the shoot time was over, and one scene was remaining to shoot, which we decided to shoot the next day, as Arav was not needed and time was over. The end was quite good. The day went well. Though it was quite stressful, it gave me a lot more confidence, and I was ready for the next day's shoot.

Mock shots at the location
This blog is all about the test done with the actors on location.
I initially choreographed them about the act, then told them to act. This helped me to understand mistakes and wherever it will be possible. In terms of acting, sound, framing, etc.
Doing this helped me to reduce the number of takes as the actors knew what to do. We all practiced it as if it were an actual shoot. We placed all the equipment as per the needs. For example, we placed the camera where it was supposed to be and shot it as if it were an actual shoot.
One of the corrections that I made because of this is the way of serving the food. Initially, I planned that the mother would serve the food beforehand on the plates, and she would call the children and then place the plate containing food, then decided instead she would serve on the table itself and have the conversation.
This is one of the recorded mock shoots.
This is another video where I am enacting the scene to my actor in terms of how he will act and how the shots will look after the correction. This was done just to check if there would be any jerks in this two shot. Which I understood after doing this. Then, we changed and planned to take one single shot.
After this, we took another mock shoot to check whether this looked better than the first one or not. We all loved the second Mock shot, and then we planned to reshoot this shot and make it final.

Bebas Neue
Yes, this is the font name that is going to be used in my film title.
Tumblr media
This is the font for my project that my team and I finally decided to keep in the two-minute opening film title. Though my story is based on horror, mystery, and thrill, it helps to create a contrast and show the power.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Initially, my editor and I planned to keep some horror font, which will align with the movie theme, which is mainly used in horror films. We thought that would align with the genre of the film and help to create the mood of horror.
However, then I my team and I thought to challenge the convention and do something different. My editor researched online and came up with Bebas Neue. As soon as I looked at it, I liked the font. I researched about it, and in group we decided to keep it.  I do have my thought processes behind choosing Bebas Neue.  In my film title, there will be blood and lockets. However, I won't be keeping the font in the same direction because then it will become too much. I don't want my audience to catch that.
Tumblr media
The Bebas Neue is bold and eye-catching. It will grab the attention immediately. It works well with various designs. The boldness makes it look more powerful, which will make my title look strong and impactful. The clean, sharp edges will give a sense of seriousness and are perfect for a dark horror theme. I planned to pair the grunge texture and blood splatters to increase the horror feel.

Pre production meeting
This was one of the most important things that helped me to reduce my stress before the shoot day. I wanted to have less confusion and problems on the shoot days. Also, I didn't want any unexpected things to happen there, so I decided to take a meeting with my group.
One day before the shoot, I had multiple meetings with my team — not only with the team but also with the actors — to finalise everything. I gave them the arrival time and explained the things they had to keep in mind while coming to the shoot location.
Tumblr media
I was mainly concerned about the set design and props. We discussed all the important props that were needed for the shoot — for example, the candle, locket, cricket kit, etc. We made sure to have everything. Also, I had my conversation with the PD regarding the costume of the character, whether everything is ready or not.
Also, in the meeting, we decided who will bring what on the shoot day for the set design and props, etc. While we all were discussing and finalising. I wrote the final materials, which my team members will be bringing.
Tumblr media
Then we moved towards the food and budgeting. We planned where we would be bringing the food, what it would cost, and everything. Also, we planned to keep some extra money so that we wouldn’t have to struggle on the shoot day; if there is any requirement, we can use it. I also created a list of things where all the money would be used and how much each person is contributing, etc. I kept making note of all the budgets, which we will be needed on the shoot day and before the shoot day, like for the props such as frame, candle and wall hook.

My research before the shoot
As the shoot day was coming near. I was quite tense about it. To prepare myself, I started doing research about my role. Also, I started watching videos on framing, acting, and directing so that I could guide my team on the actual shoot day. I wanted to know all the frames and how I wanted my actors to be present.
Tumblr media
I started visiting different YouTube channels and watching videos on camera placement, framing, etc. I thought this would help me to make quick decisions on the camera framing. Even though there was a shot devision, I made sure to do this so that, if there will be any issues I can handle things. Also, I started creating the storyboard for the frames, as per the shot division, for my cinematographer and me.
I also watch horror films, where I used to revine the movie, focus on sound and placement, also the miss-en scene of eachh frame in terms of set design and actors acting and emotions. Also, different things work as a symbol and derive some meaning in the frame.
These are the some movies that I watched again and again to study the camera and background sound and to understand the logic and ideas of the directors.

This helped me to understand the study about the mother and son relationship. It helped me to understand how to build fear without jump scares.
In Addition, I also watched directors' interviews and commentaries. behind the scenes and also to understand what work directors mainly focus on on the actual shoot day. For all this, I watched Behind the scenes of RRR. Also, some videos online example, “Morgan Freeman On What Makes a Good Director.

Lastly, I tried the exercise of visualisation, where I tried to imagine each frame of the story, how it would look like, and how the story will move ahead. Also, I used to think and visualise the whole day, how it will go, how my team and I will be working together, with full dedication.

Personal practice at home
I was learning all the theory and practicing all the technical stuff in school for a limited time. I always wanted to practice those skills and create something of my own. Also, before the actual shoot, I wanted to practice directing and some editing skills.
The classes on editing, camera angles, and shots were done. I personally shot my own video. where I took multiple shots and tried to edit the videos.  I shot my video of studying and solving math questions.  As my laptop doesn't support Adobe Premiere Pro, I used Filmora to edit the videos.
This is the video. It contains the app's watermark. As it was a practice, I just used the app to practice the learning.
I didn't stop there. After a week, I shot some other videos of my uncle, which I planned to edit. The thought process was that he would be walking and texting someone special, and while texting, he would be blushing. I tried taking the shots with different angles and movements. For example, I had master shot, closeup, mid-shot tracking, etc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two images are the working stills where I was shooting the videos of my uncle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are the images of my edit table. After the shoot at night I edited the video and applied my knowledge of editing same as the previous video. While editing, I realised that I had made multiple mistakes in maintaining the continuity, which created problems on my edit table.
This is the final result, where I have tried to cover my mistake, however, there is the issue of continuity. Throughout this whole process, I have understood all the things I have to keep in mind.

Scheduling of shoot days
Scheduling of the shoot is the timetable for the days of the shoot. It has all the scenes and actors needed on each day of the shoot. This was quite interesting because this gave a clear idea of the shoot day to my team members and me. It also gives some ideas of how many scenes we can shoot.
Tumblr media
The schedule was done by me. Initially, I thought to plan it as per the locations. I made a schedule, where I kept the market scene and all the hall scenes on the first days. My thought process was to first complete all the difficult and heavy or longer scenes on the first days, and if anything is left, we can shoot on the next day, where all the scenes are easy to shoot as they are short.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although I made my schedule as per this plan, the plan changed when I thought about the actors and budgets while discussing in the group. I realized that I should prioritize the actors first to reduce my cost and the actors' time as much as possible. I checked my screenplay and realized that the role of the younger son in the first 2 minutes of the opening is less. I should be finishing his scenes on the first day so that he won’t have to come on the next day. This would save my actors' time and our money.
Tumblr media
Finally, I made the changes and planned to shoot the market, bedroom, and some hall scenes on the first day.

Master breakdown & shot division
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We were a small group, and my role was the director. I didn't have an Assistant director or production manager who would be managing the master breakdown. Therefore, I worked on the master breakdown to showcase my creativity. The story that I wanted to make.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I contacted my PD and talked to her about the costume and color palette to decide on the costume of the character and create a mood and atmosphere as per my vision. I wrote all the details from makeup, casting production, Props, costumes everything, which is part of the master breakdown. As I was clear that the family I am planning to show will be a middle-class family. Keeping this in mind also know that Varsh (The female mother character) has lost her husband. Therefore, there must be one photo frame of the husband with a garland. All the ideas and the thoughts that I had I kept on putting in the master breakdown to make the story look exactly as planned.
Shot devision
Shot division works as a weapon for the director and cinematographer, which kills most of the stress of the director and cinematographer regarding the shots and camera placement. It saves time during the shoot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Initially, for my project, the cinematographer and editor worked on it, where I have contributed through my input and feedback. Initially, they started creating while keeping editing in mind. Then we had our discussion regarding this, and I told him to let's go with shooting. I planned this so that for the shoot, we take less time and the cinematographer will have less confusion, including me on the set.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, once the shot division was ready, I gave my inputs and made some changes according to my need so that the mood of the scene remains as it is I want. Like some closeups, long shots, etc. One of the examples would be when the keeper is watching and planning to do a match cut or the Arav sitting down, and we are taking the master shot of him.
Tumblr media
Overall, the shot division helped to plan the shoot more smoothly and helped to be efficient.

Budgeting
Budgeting in film production is extremely important because it helps control costs and makes sure money is spent wisely. In budgeting, the money or the cost is clearly distributed amongst cast, crew, equipment, locations, and post-production, as it helps to avoid unexpected delays by preparing for possible extra expenses.
This is a hypothetical budget created by my team for the overall pre-production and post-production after the discussion done in one of the meetings.
For this this file, my editor took the responsibility to type and create this file.  We have distributed the budget according to the 2-minute film opening. We divided the budget into two parts, pre production and post production. We tried to include all the props, set design materials everything.

We eliminated multiple costs in this budgeting, as there are most of the things available in our college campus which we could use. Example: the place—we don't have to rent. Some materials like sofa, cupboard, etc. These were just a few which didn't cost anything, but there were many other things too. Also, there was no cost for the pre- and post-production because most of the equipment was managed by my teammates. Most of the production design materials were handled using household materials too. Also, the post-production—we all were sure that there won't be requirement of money, as we have the resources. But still, we created this hypothetical budget considering the important requirements where we can have to put money. Example: in the post-production, we have all the software, but we still wrote because initially, we will do real film, then we will need all this. But some of the materials which we will need on the shoot day—we make sure to keep in mind so that we can arrange all those before the actual shoot.

Music
Music plays a crucial role in any film as it enhances the storytelling through the emotions and creates the right atmosphere for each scene. It helps set the mood—whether it's fear, sadness, joy, or suspense- and helps build moments of tension or drama without dialogue. Background music and sound effects (SFX) also add realism to scenes, making them more impactful through the emotions they evoke. In many films, specific sounds or music themes are used to represent characters or situations, helping the audience connect with the story on a deeper level.

Here is the link to Bramayugam as an example of the background music. It has been used to build the suspense and show the intensity of the story.
Overall, music and sound work silently in the background to make the film more powerful, emotional, and memorable. If there isn’t any music, then the entire connection of the audience and the film breaks. The audience doesn’t actively participate as the right feelings according to directors are not evoked by the film in the audience. The music helps directors to bring real feeling and emotion inside the film, which resonates with the audience.

For my story or the two-minute film opening, I will be using some intense horror music, like silent Erie and jump-scare sound effects with some ambience and whisper sound. I will be using these sounds to create the mood of fear, tension, sadness, or suspense. Also, the ambience and whispering sound build suspense and unease without being too obvious. Great for eerie market scenes and quiet tension before chaos begins. Also, the whispers create a supernatural vibe.
