Teach boys about periods

My mother also talked about periods to my brothers.

When I first got mine I had terrible cramps. Crippling cramps. I once was camping with my family and a few of my big brother’s friends when my period came. My cramps were so bad that my mom gave me a full pain killer ( I was 13 and before that she only gave me pills cut in half).

I literally laid down on my parents’ air mattress and cried in pain for an hour before the pill kicked in.

My brothers friend came in to the big tent and I was just curled up and sobbing. Now, I was quite the tomboy and was known to rough house with my brothers and their friends and made sure I wasnt seen as just “a little girl.” So my brother’s friend was confused to see me openly weeping in the fetal position (seriously, these were the worst cramps I have had in my life. My vision went white). He asked what was wrong with me.

My big brother stood up immediately and suggested a nice long hike. During this hike I am sure he had a pretty awkward conversation with his friend explaining menstrual cramps, because when they got back the pain pill had (mostly) kicked in and I was sitting up at a table when my brother’s friend sheepishly asked me if I was feeling better. I said I was better, and he said good.

When we made s'mores that night my brother and his friend kept me well supplied with chocolate.

Making sure sons know as much about periods and menstruation as daughters makes them better brothers, better sons better fathers, and better men. A man that understands a period will not lightly accuse a woman of “being on her period” if the woman is in an argument.

Raise better sons Teach them about normal bodily functions.

About “free” psychic readings…

Hey everybody. I’ve seen a MASSIVE influx of new reading requests lately, and I wanted to make a few things clear because it seems like some of you maybe don’t understand how psychic abilities work, or the toll it takes on a reader to use them.

Please keep in mind while reading this that I’m writing about my experience specifically. Other readers aren’t my area of expertise, but I would think most of this would apply broadly. Some of it might not though, and that’s okay.

There are a lot of different types of psychic ability! Some people literally see things that others cannot, others (like me) hear, some can smell and taste and other things, but I want to emphasize that not all psychic ability involves sight. I’m not gonna go into the nitty-gritty about different types of psychic ability, mostly because I know a LOT of other tumblr users have written absolutely A++ posts on the subject already. (I would highly recommend @underworldariel specifically, she’s an absolute peach and I’m sure she’d be willing to reblog that post if you’re interested, just give her a shout)

I get a lot of questions asking me to physically describe someone’s future SO, which, if I wanted to, I could do! But, actually, I’m predominately an empath, and while I can see a little, that level of specificity takes soooooo much out of me that it’s not worth it to do for free readings! So that’s point one. Point two is that also, the universe is a billion times more complex than that! I could do that reading for a client (and yes, I say client, because that degree of work is something I AND other readers deserve payment for, but I’ll get to that, stay tuned), and the client could make some decision, big or small, five minutes later, that would completely change the range of options available for that client’s future! Which means that, in addition to having almost no “sight” to speak of metaphysically, I’d still just be picking out some stuff from a spectrum of possibilities. There are some things in your life that are meant to happen, okay? There’s some stuff that there’s no avoiding. But I’ve got bad news for y’all if you think your next boyfriend is one of those things! It doesn’t matter to the universe who you date, and often it doesn’t even matter who you marry!! Your relationships aren’t important, as harsh as that’s going to sound. What matters to the universe is YOUR life, your happiness, your pain, and the lessons you learn and teach to others! Okay? So when you ask ME, specifically, as a reader, these types of questions, THAT is what I get messages and information on. The universe doesn’t even recognize that humans come in a variety of hair, skin, and eye colors, okay, it sees SOULS. So going to a reader (again, me specifically, but I’m sure other readers out there seeing this are nodding their heads) and asking them about specifics like that, it’s hugely frustrating, because we want to help, but we can’t always control what the universe is willing to share with us, at least not without putting in more work than your free reading is worth.

Now to my big point, the one I’ve been leading up to: most readers who offer free readings do so for the same reason Costco offers you free samples on weekends- it’s because we want you to buy something!! It’s a sampling of our abilities to make sure our style works for you before you spend your hard earned money on asking us your questions. Now, other readers do it for other reasons, and that’s their business, you can go ask them why they do that. The point here is that ASTROLOGERS, TAROT CARD READERS, RUNE READERS, PENDULUM READERS, AND OTHER DIVINERS AND PSYCHICS DESERVE PAYMENT FOR THEIR WORK. You came to us, you wanted us to tell you all about whatever it is you wanted to know about, but you don’t want to acknowledge the effort that takes to get you your dumbass answers about whatever dumb thing your sweet little heart wants. And I don’t mean to be rude here, I’m just done sugar coating it.

So with that said: I’m officially opening paid readings. I haven’t up till this point because I haven’t even been getting requests for free ones. That’s changing. I’ll be posting later today with a menu of what I offer, as well as pricing and how to get your money to me. Those of you popping into my ask to ask such specific things like what your next SO will look like, or when you’ll meet, or when you’ll get a job, etc. etc… help me help you. Toss me some money so I can eat to compensate me for my time. I’m more than happy to answer your questions- but I would be doing not only myself, but the entire tumblr and online divination communities a HUGE disservice if I did it for free.

You cannot both demand a service and disrespect or belittle those who provide it. Pay your gods-damned diviners.
