At twelve o'clock, in the blue lit cave, Steve sat, waiting for Diana. His father’s watch was on his wrist, ticking the seconds down until she would come and entertain him again. He’d hurt his leg when he crashed his plane into the water, and he barely noticed. When he blinked open his eyes, the first thing he saw was pure beauty.

After that, the pain had hit him. The Amazonian women had made him makeshift clothes, not much more than mere cloth pinned around his shoulders and waist. As he recovered, sequestered in his cave while the women decided what to do with him, Diana came and visited him every day. She brought him books, and sat with him for an hour and asked questions about the human world. Steve lived for that hour.

The Bravest In the Land

Author’s Note:Happy Holidays to @ziva-david! You officially got my last prompt/gift I’ll ever be taking on Tumblr and I hope you like it! Since you said canon hurts, I figured I’d give you a cute as hell AU. Enjoy!

“Long ago, in a faraway land, two babies were born.

The first was born to the Queen and her Consort, both of great beauty and strength. So divine was the child, they believed that the kingdom had been blessed by all the gods.

The second child was also a blessing from the gods, born to a farmer and his wife, who had long thought to be barren. Given such a miracle, they, too, were invited to the palace to partake in the festivities.

Both children, radiant and pure, were set before the people to be praised and celebrated. A great banquet with delicacies from all parts of the kingdom with music and dancing filled the senses of all who attended.

But the great sea witch of old, Circe, was jealous of the happy kingdom, for she coveted the blessings that they received. So, she appeared in a haze of violet smoke and approached the babies in their cradles. And under the sight of all the kingdom, Circe plucked one of the children from the cradle…

And vanished.

The kingdom mourned for the loss of one of the blessed children, so much so that the Queen herself decreed that any warrior in the land brave enough to find the child would be given riches and the greatest of honors.

But first… it would take a warrior of exceptional skill to find the child, wherever Circe had hidden them away.

For years, many warriors would try and fail to find the child. It was said that Circe had created a tall, spiralling tower with no doors save for one window at the very top of it. And yet, even with such information, no one could seem to rescue the child.

It seemed that liberation was far away and that Circe’s prisoner had been long forgotten…”
