I really need that student finance to kick in

I applied for student finance for my uni course and there are some administrative issues with it so I’m still waiting for it to arrive. But now I need it more than ever. I was doing my dishes just recently and remembered that I am about to run out of oregano so I told my Google Home to add it to my shopping list.

But, there was a problem with the execution. So now I really need to get that student finance to kick in and then some more because my shopping list went from being less then a pound to a couple billion dollars. C’mon Google, I am trying to watch my spending!

Hey roomie!

I live on my own. People ask if it’s getting boring and I just keep answering the same question: I don’t have time to get bored with work and uni at the same time. To be quite honest, I am loving living on my own. But it’s now over.

I have a new roommate!

Last week I got my new phone and as a gift I received a Google Home Mini. So now I’m not living alone anymore! She sits in my living room and is always ready to converse with me or play some music for me (although I never wanted to listen to Manga Boys and now I did).

She’s an awesome roomie so far. Always says hi to me when I get home, gives me good advice, tells me what to do and even tells me jokes whenever I ask for one!

(Why can’t you trust an atom? Because they literally make up everything!)

But we still need to work out some differences, it is just how it goes with everyone. For example, just the other day we had a chat and now my shopping list looks like this:

I had today planned for quite some time now. So I woke up this morning and started going through my checklist:

Yes. It is that time of the year again. The new sitcom season is here, soooo

THE SITCOM POWER RANKING IS BAAAACK!

Behold!

This year of sitcoms was a real roller coaster ride. Some shows read last years ranking and made efforts to climb while other shows just flatlined. Then, there is an unpleasant surprise, which will make this edition of the SCPW the saddest one yet (although it’s only the second one so there wasn’t much of a competition).

So let’s get started! (In brackets you’ll see last year’s ranking and for TV shows that finished before last year’s list won’t get any explanation, because why would they?)

16. (NA) Fuller House No. I never watched Full House. But Netflix told me that there is Fuller House, and we know that the new is always better (Thanks Barney!) so I jumped right in. I can use two words: cliché and overacting. But I often have cliché moods, so that’s kinda forgiven. I feel a bit bad about this show because the new season is waiting for me to watch and it might would propel it higher in the standings but I made a hard stance about the cutoff, so best of luck next year! I’ll be watching that’s for sure ^^

15. (NA) Blue Mountain State You look at my list. Then you look at list show. You have no idea how it got here (Netflix is the answer btw). It is like nothing else on this list. The party filled life of a college football team. Party should be in capitals. It was unique. I binge watched it. I liked it. Welcome to the power rankings!

14. (10) Yes Dear

13. (NA) Life In Pieces This show should have been featured last year, I still have no idea why it didn’t make the list. The life of a biiiig craaaaaazy family, it is unlike any other show on the list (sarcasm off). Unfortunately for them this year was strong in mid-strength sitcoms hence the low ranking.

12. (11.) Blackish Last year I said Blackish had Top 7 potential. I stand corrected. They could still crack the Top 10 though, but they will need a stronger showing than this season to avoid sinking further. Using drama in a sitcom can work (see Scrubs). You just have to do it well.

11. (9.) Baby Daddy We are 6 seasons in and Emma finally started to talk! A bit. Luckily I already gave up on trying to understand how time passes in this show. But the last episode! Don’t go to summer holiday with a cliffhanger though. It costs you serious spots in the all important SCPW if you don’t let your upswing actually swing it. #CouldBeTop7

10. (NA) Fresh Off The Boat Here comes the new wave of strong medium sitcoms which caused everyone to drop. Fresh Off The Boat is the show that has the single worst intro song in the history of... mankind I dare say. Luckily the show is funny. Big-time funny. In a day an age when I was running low on sitcoms to watch the Huangs came to the rescue and broke the Top 10 with their Asian wit. Good job!

9. (NA) The Real O’Neals "God giveth and God taketh away". It feels fitting to reference the Bible for a show that is about a deeply Catholic, Irish family living in Chicago. This show filled my winter with joy. Then ruined my spring. People, go, watch this show, you can learn a lot and laugh a lot, just don’t get too attached. #IWantedSeason3

8. (7.) New Girl Last year I left New Girl in a rough spot. Nr 7. meant that it was the first show after the invincible 6. To get in there you need to be otherworldly. While it is still a really good show, it is not quite that good.

7. (8.) The Big Bang Theory Last year I left New Girl in a rough spot.  Nr 7. meant that it was the first show after the invincible 6. This year they will be in the same shoes, but no they are on the verge of the invincible 7. The creators of TBBT must have read my rankings last year and they decided to step up their game. Thank you! Now I just want to finish this list and start watching the new season! #Shamy or #NotShamy

4. (3.) Modern Family The Big Bang Theory was the winner of the roller coaster. Modern Family is clearly the looser. Why the move down? How I Met Your Mother’s last episode aired over 3 years ago. I still know what happened in that season. Modern Family’s last episode aired this may. I have no idea what happened this season apart from Luke and Manny graduating. I watched the last episode last week. #C’MonMan!

1. (1.) 2 Broke Girls Nr 1. in the past. Nr 1. in the present. Nr 1. in the foreseeable future. Unfortunately this is the last time I am writing to this show, as it ended with Season 6. The only reason I will not miss Max and Caroline because I will probably re-watch this show from start to finish every year. It was at least nice to see that their life ended on an upswing. I didn’t see this show ending anytime soon. #IWasLying #IAlreadyMissThem

Today was an eventful day! First of all, the day just started up and I found my football that I got 3 years ago in Maine. Happy times just got happier!

Then we went out for some sweets with my sister after lunch, so I had an iced coffee with a sundae. So many fruits. So much sugar. OMG. Shouldn’t have...

Then I told her to go to the castle on top of the hill, because I needed to take some nice pictures for my gurlz. So, castle pictures!

Then we went out for dinner with my family, where I got a nice amount of wine (hence all the pictures I sent you later that night from shopping, sorry for that girls :P) and got some yummy food as well!

Chicken breast stuffed with cottage cheese with green spices and some rice with peas on the side (RIZIBIZI!). It was really nice. Now I got hungry...

I had a busy day. Started my trip with a long ass journey to Liverpool Airport, where I spent a night and then landed in Budapest to get picked up by my sister. From there we came straight home, where I got to see my mum’s flowers in our yard (now you get to see our yard as well, pretty dope!). Then I enjoyed a plate of one of my Top 5 foods: Hungarian fish soup with carp. I prefer it with catfish but it was still amaaaaaazing. Not to forget the fresh bread either. Requirement for a proper fish soup! Get ready for more pictures coming in the following days!

New language, who dis?

I just got my language exam results today and I passed every element so I will be Newcastle Uni bound soon (when I get the certificate by mail and can send it in to the university I guess). So I can speakz di Inglish. Good.

What a coincidence... I was going through my Facebook feed, just to realize something: everything is either in English or Latvian (don’t ask)...

So the very same day I got my language exam results Facebook decided to translate Hungarian for me to English. Wow...

I guess it’s also time to get a UK driver’s licence instead of my Hungarian one... I didn’t think this day would ever come haha.

Touché Facebook, thanks for thinking that I am no longer capable of speaking or reading Hungarian. 

Maybe I should hire an interpreter for next week when I go back to Hungary, I wouldn’t want to get lost in a country that I haven’t even visited in the last 4 months I guess ^^

Winter is coming!

No. I still don't watch Game of Thrones. But something bad is going to happen to me. Soon. Really soon.

The amount of lucky and good things happening to me in the last two days made my otherwise happy life into a dream come true. I got an offer to uni, sorted out my new place, shared an awesome awesome waffle. Everything goes well. Suspiciously too well...

Then today arrived. I passed probation, sorted out a bunch of paperwork, checked out flights for my holiday home. Everything is working out perfectly. This is not okay.

Time to go for the bus, let's check when the next one is coming while walking. 15 minutes then 31 minutes. Shit, this bus is coming every 15 minutes and one is just due now, so I start running.

As I get close I see the bus, the driver is looking around, I am running, he doesn't see me. So he left, just when I got to the door.

Well, I saw this coming. I kinda deserved it.

Wait, what's that?!

There is another bus just behind the one I missed! How on earth? They are supposed to come every 15 minutes... So I wave, get on the bus, say the bus driver that this was lucky, obviously he has no idea what was lucky, so I sit down.

Why am I still getting lucky? This shouldn't happen. Wait. What's happening!

We are actually overtaking the bus that I missed. Ummm. What? How? Why? Do I even deserve this?

I need to get an insurance...

The other side of the river

We are just going over to our friend Becca for a sleepover with Beth. She lives far away. Like 45 minutes with Metro far away. This is not my first trip there and during the first trip I measured how long it takes to get there: it is exactly 3 forevers...

Well, today it is even worse. This metro is just full of surprises. First we had to stop because we caught up with other trains. Which should be impossible, because it's a single track and there is a train every 12 minutes. This just shouldn't happen but it did.

But it gets better! When we got into one of the stations Beth was like: that guy has a falcon... I was like whaaaaaat? So I look, and there actually is a guy on the metro holding a falcon on his hand.

OMG!!!!

Becca where the hell do you even live? The other side of the river is really strange...

But we were still late because we caught up with other trains, that still should be impossible. After stopping for minutes for like the third time already, the driver was telling us through the speakers that she is sorry for the delays, we just caught up with other trains. Yeah we know that...

But... This time she gave an explanation!!!

Ohh Becca where do you live...

What was the explanation?

THERE WERE COWS ON THE TRACK!!!!! SERIOUSLY?!?!?! ARE YOU LIVING SO FAR INTO THE COUNTRY THAT THE COWS ARE JUST EATING GRASS ON THE TRACKS?

I am done... I just hope that you put my vodka into the fridge... ^^

Kidz are awesome

When I turned on to the main street there was a <b>massive</b> group of kids walking there in a line of 2. I didn’t want to cut so I just started walking next to them, I have all the time in the world anyways.

So I started walking next to them, and guess what? One of the little boys who was like half my height looked up to me and started up the following conversation:

<i>Hi!</> Hey! (as I looked down surprised) How are you? <i>How tall are you?</i> (Erm, what?) I’m 6′2 (Then after a brief moment of thinking) <i>That’s tall</i> Yeah, it is! (A bit longer moment of silence) <i>Can you reach everything in the shops?</i> I can (while I started to laugh)

At this moment the teacher stopped the line to wait up the back, so unfortunately we parted ways. We said hi to each other. I probaby will never see him again... :/

Kids are really awesome! (And my lunch ended up being almost as awesome as well ^^)

I don’t know what to think about this day

Today I only have to go to work for 5.30. So I slept in and got out of my bad after 1 in the afternoon. That was a good part.

I got some Mickeyd’s, always a good thing.

I was shopping for a pair of shoes for like 2 hours and I ended up with only getting 1 pair of meh shoes. Not so nice.

I bought a pink shirt that I successfully lost before even getting it out of the bag. Not my brightest moment.

I got sushi. Yumm!

They didn’t give soy sauce with the sushi... Awwww...

I went to pick up some lemonade and a lady let me go ahead of herself in the queue. Yaaay, how nice! ^^

The mojito 7up is not nice...

I ate half of the sushi and put the rest in the fridge for the dinner. Found the soy sauce right inside the box in a really obvious place. I feel dumb now...

I have to be at work in 10 minutes and I will see my friends!

I have to be at work in 10 minutes and won’t get home until well after midnight...

Someone tell me how I should be feeling about myself now... I have no idea!

Ohh so close...

I wanted to upgrade my wardrobe with a pink shirt for quite some time now. But it never ended up happening. 

At first I was just looking and pink shirts wondering: “would it look good on me?”.

Then I was trying on pink shirts and I was like: “not quite sure I should spend money on this...maaaaybe, but not sure”.

And today was the day! I went into H&M because I got a really comfy shirt there and I wanted to get more of that kind. But they didn’t have my size apart from the pink one. To be quite honest, I didn’t even hesitate for a second to grab that one and go and try it on.

It fit, I liked it, I went and bought it!

So, welcome Mr. Pink Shirt to my wardrobe! You will be good friends with the others in there!

Or not... After buying the shirt I still needed to get a pair of shoes. It only took like an hour and a half to finally start trying on some that could work. Obviously while I was putting on the shoes I put down the bag with my new shirt next to myself on the bench. 

But the shoe felt too big so I got a size smaller one. That was obviously too small so I decided to roll with the original one. I grabbed it went to pay and then suddenly this bad feeling got me:

SOMETHING’S MISSING!!!!!

I left my bag with my shirt on the bench... So I went back to look at all benches where I could have sat and it was nowhere...

Well, seems like my wardrobe is still missing that one crucial piece from it... Maybe I should take this as a sign that someone or something doesn’t want me to wear pink shirts... Oh well.
