Decided to demonstrate the mic functionality, after it became apparent a lot of people didn’t know about it.

At least with Spirit of Justice, there is a dedicated “activate mic” button in the lower right corner of the lower screen (it’s what I press prior to yelling). On DS releases, you instead press and hold the Y button to turn on this function, as shown below.

Phoenix vaguely giving Apollo a hard time for saying “Hiya” in AJAA is really fucking funny considering that this is one of the very first things he ever utters in this game series

so recently, i've gotten obsessed with looking at the steam version of the apollo trilogy after looking at 3ds files for ages, and it's crazy how similar, yet so different all the files are

i obviously haven't seen Everything bc there's three games worth of content, but i've been slowly uploading anything i've found interesting to the spriters resource. i think the first thing i started looking for were those 4 artpieces you get after completing each game + the whole trilogy because i'd like to see them all at a higher quality, and i may be looking at the wrong place, but after all the converting,

i don't know why only one of them looks normal </3

still, it's been really fun looking at how everything is broken down :)

Tbh I wouldn’t know, since I’ve never tried to pull apart the steam releases (I don’t know how and I’m satisfied with what the 3DS releases have given me)

My biggest guess would be some incompatibility with the original file type and whatever you’re using to turn it into a viewable file? But what you’re dealing with is alien to me so that might be super far from the actual issue

While someone else already confirmed this, I'll add that it really only detected if you made noise into the mic.

So if you held down X... I think? (I just remember it being the "top" button) during a part of gameplay where you could interject, it would mute the game and show an indicator that the mic was active. And at that point, you could do anything! Scream into it, start loudly reciting poetry, whatever. It'd activate the interjection all the same.

This is similar to the mechanic where you had to blow into the mic to get rid of excess fingerprint powder... I'm pretty sure it was just sensing volume so you could just scream at it and scare the dust away.

To preface this, my highschool was weird as hell. My graduating class was 11 people, we kind of got to choose whatever we wanted to do… etc

Because of the small class size, I talked with said “homeroom teacher” - the only teacher/advisor I had (there were four in the entire school) - a fair amount. And since I was counting my own drawing efforts towards art credits, I ended up bringing up the fact I was posting them for people to see online. I had to essentially explain what my plans were every time I chose a credit earning opportunity so it was relevant.

I think I also mentioned artist blogs I looked up to, and he suggested messaging them to ask for tips etc… absolutely terrifying idea no thank you 😭

Anyways. When graduation was coming up, he asked me during a one on one meeting how I pronounced my blog title… Lo and behold he wanted that info so he could mention it during his graduation speech regarding me ?!

So not only did he say it out loud but he did so in front of an auditorium of people. which is like hi let me crumble into dust on the spot thanks

To be honest, most of my drive behind this was just kind of knowing that it was much easier to get this AU across via fanfic compared to isolated posts and art. And also trying out first person writing sounded fun.

Not really meant to be a huge thing (it’s only 1.8k words), but count it as a AU preview of sorts!
