Heard this stupid dad joke that killed me: Which Chinese word takes the longest to write? "Friend" (朋友) because it takes two months just to write half of it

observation: among a certain subset of tumblr users, the term “blorbo” has become unchic, but the concept it describes is still important; and so it has been replaced with “The Character”

ok wait genuine question
#I THINK COOLSVILLE SU- no i dont. coolsville forever! <3#when i did trivia team in high school the coach always made us pick a fictional high school for the scrimmage team names#but like. no one could ever think of a fictional high school so hed always toss out options but itd always be from shows no one cared abt#so i ofc tried to have some fun w it and say like “atlantis hs” and stuff like that but he was always such a stickler like “whats that from”#blah blah so coolsville was my go to. i was team scooby doo essentially every time#but there were two scrimmage teams and the other one rarely had ideas either. so id literally just pick a cardinal direction and suggest#they also be coolsville. coolsville east. west coolsville high. etc. which tbf didn't always work but at least sometimes#this went on for like 3 years btw. so yeah you could say im a coolsville fan#that teacher was such a character. declan reese was a form of torture specifically created for 15yo girls actually#(declan not being his name but the main character in the novel he was writing who was supposed to be a teen heartthob singer type)#being a captive audience focus group on him w my female teammates was definitely a bonding experience on our part fs

if you have like 20 variations of 1 fandom, count that as 1
#8 plus 1 for a wider interest (not just a fandom) and then 2 fandoms spoiler tags. one im still into and need to watch sometime#and the other im not but that season was so bad and hated im glad i kept the tag blocksd#plus a lot of ships and subsections of my own interests i just cant stand#and then a current events thing relevant like 2.5 years ago that the discussion on this site irritated me about greatly#for the blocked fandoms its nothing i hate with a burning passion its mainly stuff i dont like or dont care about but had some good friends#get obsessed with at some point and i just had to block it to keep my sanity and not get annoyed w people i like who didnt do anything#but rb scrimblo bingus 5 times too many

truly some people have no genre savviness whatsoever. A girl came back from the dead the other day and fresh out of the grave she laughed and laughed and lay down on the grass nearby to watch the sky, dirt still under her nails. I asked her if she’s sad about anything and she asked me why she should be. I asked her if she’s perhaps worried she’s a shadow of who she used to be and she said that if she is a shadow she is a joyous one, and anyway whoever she was she is her, now, and that’s enough. I inquired about revenge, about unfinished business, about what had filled her with the incessant need to claw her way out from beneath but she just said she’s here to live. I told her about ghosts, about zombies, tried to explain to her how her options lie between horror and tragedy but she just said if those are the stories meant for her then she’ll make another one. I said “isn’t it terribly lonely how in your triumph over death nobody was here to greet you?” and she just looked at me funny and said “what do you mean? The whole world was here, waiting”. Some people, I tell you.
