for many people, the weather outside today would be quite lovely, but not for newt. he preferred colder weather, sweater weather, one might say, so the very fact that he was in a plain t-shirt was a bit unusual for him. it also made his morning tea just a little bit unbearable. needless to say, he still sipped on it while reading today’s newspaper. soon enough, newt had been too focused on reading and spilled hot tea onto his shirt. “oh dear.” he mumbled. he set the newspaper down, but before he could get up and grab a napkin, someone who had witnessed the ordeal, handed him one. “oh, why thank you.”

despite being the head veterinarian in the office, the techs had been doing enough work today, so newt decided it was his turn to walk the puppy. she wasn’t anyone’s pet yet, but the office had been taking care of her while looking for her forever home. the great dane puppy was certainly spunky and rather friendly, but usually forgot how big she really was. newt usually had a pretty good handle on her, but she was extra excited today and managed to escape just long enough to knock someone over showering them with kisses. “oh my goodness. i am so sorry. down girl!”
