Catherine ♡
All her life, she has had her door tightly closed and walls firmly built. She imprinted it in her mind that her narrative would only remain as a myth no one would bother to know if real or plainly concocted.
Catherine was an unopened book, enveloped with blank paper yet purely judged.
She thought she was never meant to be read by anyone, until He came—Jesus.
With leaden steps, she began to unravel the ropes so twisted that two hands couldn’t be of help. It was not as easy as reciting the alphabet. Heck, she would even spit curses and was often led back to her old habits of hiding from the facade and running away from what she deserves (because she thought nothing captivating was made for her)! It was not painless to win against the chaos in her soul.
Amidst her battles, it was the warmth of His embrace that held her together. She felt as though she was being carried like how a little girl does to her precious and favorite book, with both hands wrapped around it, careful, gentle.
Her once tangled life has been unsnarled by His divine hands; her shields totally taken down, not to expose her damages, but for her to see a whole new perception of beauty, strengths and love which have always been rightfully hers.
She may be enveloped with dull impressions and her story a myth to some, her testimony lives on—it may not be in others heart, but definitely in hers.

Critique on the speech of Manuel L. Quezon
We, Filipinos are responsible for the growth and success of our own nation. We just have to be persevere and earnest. We make up the nation, that's why we define our country's strengths and weaknesses. It must be rooted in character, self- discipline and work. We are all part and an objective, of which depends on our way of building our character. We should have a high sense of responsibility and earnestness, because there will no other people that can make our own country successful, but only us, his people. We all have to work and persevere in making our country, the Philippines, what it should be.
According to Manuel L. Quezon, "National strength can only be built on character. A nation is nothing more nor less that its citizenry. It is the people that make up the nation and, therefore, it cannot be stronger than its component parts." I strongly agree in this statement because I believe that we are the only people responsible for the growth, success & prosperity of our country, the Philippines, because we belong to it & we make up it. It simply means, what we are as an individual is what the whole nation is. We are all responsible of whatever the consequences of our actions, because we are the one who did it. It's our choice if we want to do it in the right way or the easy way. Doing the right thing for our country is not easy, I admit it, it takes a lot of sweat & blood before we achieve success, but its worth it, right?
We need to build a solid foundation of our own that can survive and surpass the rising of the hillside, the raging flood, the lightning or the storm and confident of our own capabilities and strength. Manuel L. Quezon also mentioned in his speech that, "our national structure must rest upon the rock bottom of the character, the toil, and the prowess of the people". Again, I agree to him, to be able to surpass all the hardship and obstacles our nation will face, we must be strong, united and ready. It's like when you're going to a war. You will NEVER win when you're not equipped & ready.
Also he mentioned many traits and values that each and every Filipino should possess and have. Some of the traits he mentioned are vigorous, sturdy, healthy body and mind, courteous, brave, industrious, self reliant and many more. According to Manuel L. Quezon, "We are engaged in the epic task of building our nation, to live and flourish, not for a day but for all time". I strongly agree to this statement because it must not be done only in one day but all throughout our life. Also, it cannot be done in just one day because its a continuous process and it is something that's needed to be improve as time goes on.
Also, he mentioned in his speech that, "Our task - our heroic task - is to awaken and apply these faculties so that our people should become what of right they should be: morally strong, virile, hard-working, refined, enterprising, persevering, public spirited".
He emphasized in this statement that we are a part of a nation and it's our responsibility to make our nation what it should be and what WE should be.
According to Manuel L. Quezon, "There is no substitute to suffering and privation to bring out the finer qualities in man, just as physical struggle develops his sinews." For us, to be able to do these things, we should have a patriotism for our country and we should persevere and be earnest because it's hard to do things and perform actions for our country, when you cant even feel the rage of patriotism inside you. Being earnest is being sincere and being true to what you want to achieve. Being persevere is NOT giving up when things goes out of the way. Fighting & loving our own nation is not that easy, it takes a lot of effort, obstacles, trials & difficulties, but when we really mean to save & revive our dying patriotism for the Philippines, we can and we must endure all of it. Its not yet late, we need to wake up the patriotism for our Philippines in our hearts. We need to save and revive our dying nation. We are the only people who can do it, him people. We should not fail him.
As Manuel L. Quezon said to his address of His Excellency "Policies and Achievements of the Government and Regeneration of the Filipino"at José Rizal Memorial Field, August 19, 1938. Manuel didn't expect that there's so many faculties and Students of all the universities and of the teachers and pupils of the public and private schools of manila. For the purpose of doing his honor on the occasion of his birthday, he felt the unbounded happiness for his in that fine and generous tribute, their approval of the policies and achievements of his administration in the last three years. The expression of the friendship and the support of the Filipinos to Manuel was spur him to go onward with renewed faith in the policies he has pursued and with redoubled determination to carry us to a successful completion.
To conclude everything, I want to say this again for the last time that we are, his people, are the only people who is responsible for to growth, success and prosperity of our own country, the Filipino. Nonetheless, we should accept and do our part and responsibility in changing and reviving the patriotism and our love for our own, the Philippines. As Manuel mention in his speech, "I have an abiding faith in our people". I firmly believe that it's not too late to start doing our responsibility as a citizen of this nation. Let's start building our character. Let's start disciplining our self and we should strive for the best. It's not too late Filipinos, we can still save and wake up the patriotism in us. We just have to believe and do it.

Best and Worst day
It's not sunshine & flowers every day, there will always be a bad day, but of course, we all have the best and the happiest day of our life. The day is November, 7, 2017. 1st semester recognition. I was very anxious because I really wanted to be one of the honor students. Every day I've been praying for this, "Lord, everything may not fall into their right place right now, but please, at least let me have an honor." I've been literally crying because I was very anxious, what if I am almost there & I didn't make it? What if it’s just a matter of points, but still, I didn't make it? Fortunately, I made it! Weeks and days before the recognition, I was really nervous & sad because I really think that I will not make it into the quota which is 92. On that day, while sitting in the function room, I was sweating when its the time they are calling for the honors. I am about to cry because I really thought I didn't make it because they already called for Lorraine & Keia, and I haven't been called yet, but I was called next to them! My heart is so happy that time, it was exploding with excitement and joy! Finally, all my hard works pay off. Those stressful and sleepless nights, those breaks you sacrifice just to finish the requirements and those quizzes you needed to study. Those days you choose to just finish a paper work instead of hanging out with your friends. Those Sundays that are supposed to be a family day, but because of loads of paper works, you choose to just stay in your room and finish it. Those days you just want to cry and sleep because you're too tired and restless. Those days you just suddenly have a breakdown because you don't know what to do anymore. Those days you just want to give up everything and just sleep. It was all worth it. I am so proud of myself at that moment because even though I was really stressed with all the circumstances and problems I had faced for the previous weeks & days, I still manage to not let myself be discouraged and my studies be distracted by those problems. It's even become my motivation to finish all the school works I needed to finish. It serves as a distraction so that I'll not feel sad.
Before I tell you the worst day in my life, I'll be mentioning some of the feelings I feel whenever im having a bad day. Having a bad day is really hard because you lose all the motivations you have & you just dont want to do anything but to sleep and sleep. Having a bad day is when you dont want to talk with anybody and you just shut down everything & everyone around you. Having a bad day is thinking all the worst scenarios that may happen to you. Probably the worst day of my life is when my parents had a big fight and they almost separated. They've been having this silent treatment and then suddenly they just burst out. They are literally shouting at each other and my mom was already crying while my siblings & I was watching them shout, telling mean, offensive words and tell things to each other. I really dont want to see my parents fighting, especially when my little sister is there. Also, because I'm too fragile and vulnerable when it comes to family matter. My little sister, she's too young too see how cruel and painful reality is. Imagine what would a child feel when he/ she saw her parents fighting? What will he/she do? Blame him/herself? She doesn't deserve to see that because she's still young. That day I really thought we'll be a broken family, that night I was crying so bad because I really can't imagine being on a broken family and I know it will be harder for my younger siblings to deal with a broken family.

I’m not just falling in love with you. I’m falling into you. You’re an ocean, and I’m falling in, drowning in the depths of who you are. Like you said, it’s scary in a way, but it’s also the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced. You are the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced.
