I mean I know albinos are rare but given that Baiken somehow has naturally pink hair it's amazing it's only ever come up once

Sin Kiske cannot have a canon Gear form I imagine because if he had a tail it would never stop wagging and that is not an especially intimidating thing to witness

It's a small thing but I love your Gear!Sin's bright teal paw pads so much it's such a fun little choice ad a fun place to put color. I want to poke them. Toe beans should be a prerequisite for Gears with paws in my opinion.

Thank you!!! Sin has gone through SO many design changes over the years, especially in the colours, but the teal is the thing that finally clicked everything into place. He used to be dark blue and red, but I adjusted those colours to be brighter, and added the teal accents to REALLY pop out.

Also, agreed. Let's see some gear paws! Let them have cute beans! This will be a game changer in gear-human diplomacy!

we need to slow down a little I'm so serious. all these quick short videos on tiktok, ig reels, and youtube, artists releasing quick little songs for the trend, tv shows releasing episodes at once, people using chat gpt and google ai overview because they get answers quickly but no validation done for the source, we need to sloww downn i really do not think our brains should be running this fast

I feel a little bit better now, so I wanna talk about going to Comic-Con last weekend! I took a bunch of photos, but there were a lot of people so I don't think I should post most of them since I don't have everyone's permission

I decorated my sidebag for the occasion, it felt fitting. Though it also made me realize that most of the trinkets I've got on my hanger are keyrings, not pins, sadly, and I only had so many spots to put keyrings before I worried about them getting tangled. Aside from I think one or two, those are all the Gear pins I've got! The hearts and KyDizzy ones (as well as the Faust shaker charm) were from the zine I was in last year, and I bought the Bedman one on ebay ages ago. The Axl charm came right from the Arcsys website back before Strive released, it also doubles as a standee! In retrospect I realize it's not visible, but I also put another Bedman charm my friend Nana got me on the zipper pull under the outside flap.

The frogs and Kirby were just for fun, admittedly.

It was up in Saratoga, which is kind of a trek but acceptable for a day trip (me and my sibling had debated doing both days, but that meant either having to drive really far back and forth or contending with inflated hotel prices.)

Getting there was kind of hilarious, we'd wanted to come early but even only after an hour, there was a line wrapped around the main building. Mostly nice folks, except for one guy who I think was chaperoning a pair of cosplaying teenagers and kept making weird comments about other cosplayers as they walked past to get into line. There was also a three-year-old dressed as Ladybug and despite the circumstances had a remarkable amount of composure

It was kind of harrowing actually getting inside, compared to the campus for the convention I used to go to, the front foyer was pretty narrow and uncomfortable with the crowd. In retrospect, very glad I brought my noise cancelers

Some highlights from wandering around

-My sibling found a lady with a bag full of tiny ducks who was passing them out to everyone

I brought a wheel of frog stickers and kept sticking them to things and people

-Two, count em, TWO!! GG cosplayers!! Both Strive Faust (one of them did mention they saw a Ky somewhere and the fact that I did not spot them was my white whale for the whole convention)

-(which was funny bc there was a period where I'd genuinely thought about cosplaying him before running into my usual realization that I can't cosplay most characters even if I could sew bc I am fat and have too much boob)

-Was admittedly a little enthusiastic since I've never actually met someone into GG irl, one of them was nice enough to let me take a picture and he even had a little crochet Faustling doll a friend had made for him

-Saw someone dressed as Kurotani (the girl whose face implodes from Uzumaki) which was a deeper cut I hadn't expected

-Bumped into someone in the bathroom who was wearing a Beetlemon jumpsuit, apparently she had it custom made, because as I said to her, 'Frontier gets absolutely no rep.'

-As one point we got stuck in an elevator with a pair of women cosplaying Devil Homura and Madokami and they were incredibly sparkly

-The main thing my sibling and I wanted to do was get autographs and somehow it took us about an hour to find out where it was despite literally being in the next room over

-We sat in the big line that was spilling out into the main hall for a while, only for me to realize that it was specifically just the line for Roger Clark and Jason Griffith (both lovely people I'm sure, just not who I was there for) and for some reason the other way to get into the signing room was through the back??

-I did it!! I did get to meet Nicole Tompkins! (Jack-O's VA among others) I was scared shitless but she was very polite and she said she liked the stuff on my bag. It seemed like a lot of people brought Resident Evil so I'm kinda curious if she got a lot of Jack-O fans

-She and the attendant at her table seemed a little surprised by what I brought in (which I won't share bc it's a gift for @solradguy and I don't wanna ruin the surprise!!)

-...I also immediately ruined it because apparently she has some nice shiny gel pen thing and it take a bit of time to dry. I immediately dropped the sleeve I had on it. She was very chill about it though and was willing to redo it

-I do not know what was in that pen but it literally took at least a half hour to get close to dry. It's a little funny, I ended up sitting in the corner fanning it while my sibling basically looped around the signing room (lots of RDR guys there, which they were hyped about, and also Costas Mandylore, who according to them was a huge sweetie)

-Despite wearing tie-dye and having my hairpin I got he/himmed at least twice so here's your daily reminder gender is a scam

-There was a tattoo booth and the sheer concept of it bewildered me

-Convention money feels like a different thing from real money. Between this and my old regular con I find I have a terrible weakness for merch tables by Asian ladies selling imported plushies. I spent way too much money and am fully aware of that fact. Still upset I didn't also buy the Quagsire-Closdire magnet plushies but I'm trying to see if I can find the set on ebay

-Snorlax plushies were strangely in vogue, there were a lot of them being sold and I also saw a lot of people carrying them around

-Likewise convention time feels different from real time because I swear between the process of simply getting stuff signed and browsing took about five hours

-No GG merch :( not even Bridget

-The whole thing was stressful, but in a fun way! I forgot how much I missed just fooling around with a bunch of strangers in costume

-My sibling and I stopped for food on the way home since con food is really pricey, so I got to take another couple photos without worrying about a bunch of strangers

Introducing my absurdly fluffy new son (as yet unnamed but astonishingly soft to the touch) alongside my emotional support plushie brought from home, Mr. Junket G. Potpourri. I spent way too much on him. I am fully aware. Also not pictured but I bought a Cleffa doll as well right before leaving and her name is Football because she is perfect punting shape

gotta love it how at least elphelt and jack-o at least have been doing the bare minimum of helping out in dual rulers and there's useless ass ramlethal doing fuck all. first no personality, next no plot contribution, what's next? daisuke will take away her interesting kit- aw wait already happened.

I feel sort of bad for saying it but I'm kinda starting to get the impression that the writers don't know how to make a female character relevant for more than one game. Dizzy gets introduced as an important character as the daughter of Justice and then she gets into a relationship and her only major contribution from there is giving birth to Sin. I-no shows up as a mysterious antagonist then just sorta fucks around for several games until being narratively relevant in Strive but Chaos does most of the legwork and she fucking dies at the end. Ram and Elphelt were introduced as important characters and Ram especially had a character arc of finding her selfhood and now she's just kinda here in the army for some reason. I mean she did have a couple of good moments in Another Story but she wasn't really the focus there.

I mean in fairness Elphelt did technically have a role like you said, but that role was 'gets nuked.'

Hadn't really thought about it until now but I think Dizzy having her Xrd outfit and old appearances of Necro and Undine in episode 1 despite her changing in her playable appearance was intentionally done so we can see her shift iterations. The clothes are easy enough to change out of but I'm gonna theorize that her wings' change is going to occur once she's freed. I think it's being implied that she (and probably also Ky) are going to end up pacifying the rampage and perhaps the change in her appearance will be some kind of 'perfect' form or one she assumes upon taking up the mantle of the Queen of Gears, and that her wings now look more alike to symbolize her mastering control over herself and of them.

Took a while to find a cable that worked on my janky old laptop, but at least I can finally take images off my my new phone

Been practicing a little with the 3D printer, the software my father uses has arrow shapes as a default so this wasn't too complicated as a test run. I think you could make a more canon-accurate one worn on the bangs if it was wider so the clip could be attached perpendicular instead of the way I did it. This is more of an 'inspired by' than an actual replica of Bedman's arrow, but I think I'm going to keep toying around with the proportions. If I can, I might also try to find a way to make a raised ridge around the edges of the shape since in some angles his appears to have one.

I should probably also use a different glue next time, not only because every time I try to use superglue I get my hands stuck together, but because it took a strangely long amount of time to cure, and you can kind of see by the arrow's tip and where the clip was stuck, it has a strange kind of discoloration. I'm not sure if it had a strange interaction with the plastic of the printer.

It was very good luck we had a pink filament close to the right color, but I don't think we have an orange, or at least not one quite like Delilah's. Maybe if I can do well enough on the pink version, I can look for the other color

iirc ky shook hands with dollar store dracula too. i think it would be funny if when the thunderseal barrier goes down ky's gear cells start acting up but then dizzy just shuts it down immediately

I could see that, though It seems like Strive has gone really back and forth on him because apparently he has the scales of Juno but also doesn't count as a Commander Gear so technically he ranks lower than his own son?

Also in general Gear percentages are so fucky since I thought the whole thing was that Gear cells were capable of converting people but Dizzy is allegedly half-Gear and Sin quarter-Gear but a converted human like Ky and Testament would be full Gears? And even then there's no physically obvious difference between whole and partial Gears anyway, they seem to have very similar physiology and physical limits. Dizzy is somehow only half but is still more visibly nonhuman than say someone like Testament?

In short if they do decide to do that I hope it's in the form of Dizzy giving him a lil kiss. Ky has a moment of freaking out but Dizzy just tilts his head down and smooches his forehead to fix it

I should have known better. I don't go out much. I don't go to events much. I thought going would be fun. I was looking forward to it. I don't feel like I look forward to things very often.

I think god hates me. Why is it that as soon as I have thoughts about doing something nice, this happens? My parents often ask me why it seems like I only remember bad times. It seems that whenever I try to specifically go against that, things find a way to infect those good memories

Once again was unable to be there at the time for Episode 5's release, but this time it was at least because I was doing something fun! Sure as hell was fun to come back to...yikes...

-Despite how much of an annoying windbag he is I will say I kinda like the direction they took for Nerville. I don't like him but I appreciate that they gave him more texture than just the one-note concept we had. He at least has an incredibly pathetic side that automatically gives him more substance

-I have no idea how in the goddamn this family tree is interconnected. Does she just call him 'dad' because he adopted her or is there something else?

-tbh the sibling angle was probably the less interesting option just because now we have to shoehorn in all this background info. Like, if it was an alternate universe thing it'd be one thing, but...

-Unika being a Gear was obvious but I sorta went in expecting that

-Yaaay Baiken and Jack-O actually get to do something. If for only like a minute tops

-Sol doesn't have the Flame of Corruption but he's got like all of its OP powers still. Sure why not. Honestly Gears just make no fucking sense in this series

-We are officially coming up on...three full episodes of Sin torture? Were is not for the fact that I know Strive's arcade mode takes place after this I would assume he came away completely traumatized into catatonia

-Unika has been here for five episodes and gets to show off more Commander Gear abilities than Dizzy has in almost two decades. I'm not bitter. I'M NOT BITTER

-In spite of this being a full episode with several monologues it feels like there were maybe four plot points

-This would be the corniest fucking thing ever but please given all the fucked up stuff please let the conflict resolution be the power of family love. Let Dizzy (and maybe Ky also) show up and override everything because she's mama and mama is strongest and then there's a big family hug
