The windows flung open and the night breeze wafted through it, gently caressing Venetia’s hair. She rested her body on the stick-out sofa in the living room, repeatedly tossing herself to sides as she played with her phone while waiting for her boyfriend to come home. The reception was pretty much garbage the whole time, it made the whole waiting thing like a fresh hell to Venetia.
“Ugh, this sucks,” groaned the lady with a long sigh following after. Suddenly, the clicking sound was heard. Venetia rose up and sprinted to the door—to find her lover, Lance, has finally arrived home. “I miss you!” her voice loud enough to chant across the hallway.
The man could only chuckle, he gave her a big warm hug she has been waiting for. Venetia smiled, then seconds after she examined his countenance. Her eyebrows furrowed.
“Should I punch that annoying guy that bothered my baby right on the gut?” were the exact words she wanted to utter out. But ever cheerful, Venetia ended up brushing her ill intention off and guided Lance to the living room after putting off his stuff. She welcomed him with her whole heart.
“You took your dinner and didn’t skip it, right?” asked Venetia while sitting down on the sofa. She pulled back up the extended part of it so Lance could sit comfortably. “Yeah, I had chicken earlier,” he answered.
“Good. Now, come here,” Venetia patted her own laps, signaling her man to turn it into his pillow. Lance naturally listened to her and rest himself comfortably on the sofa, pillowing over his girlfriend’s laps. Venetia smiled tenderly to the person before her eyes, she brushed her fingers through his hair while her other hand found its way to cup his cheek.
“I’m proud of you. You’ve worked hard, harder than anyone else, I believe,” her voice turned as gentle as her stroking fingers, “I hope the world gets kinder to you and leave you out from any of its harshness.. as you are really precious to me and those who stick around you.”
Venetia leaned in to leave some kisses on his forehead, while still stroking his hair. She tried to give him all the comfort she could offer to get him through the day. Her left hand extended to reach his hand, pulling it close to where her lips at and started to plant some kisses there as well.
“Sleep tightly tonight, my love, you’ve done your best. I love you.”
And with the words spoken, the night went on in such a serene—and completely loving nuance. Hours went by and the couple eventually dozed off so soundly on the sofa. It was a good night, indeed.

How do you always manage to write things that leave me speechless? January 10th being our New Year is something I never saw coming, but it feels so perfect now. Honestly, thinking back to how we started—it's kinda wild how things just clicked, you know? And I'll never stop being grateful for.
I said I wasn't sure about relationships too back then, but you've been everything I never thought I'd have now. Thank you for making me feel enough, for sharing your world with me, and for making me realize love doesn't have to be complicated.
Reading what you wrote makes me reflect on us and how much we've grown. It's just the little things, your random texts or te way you know when I need you to pull me out of my head.
With all this laughing, loving, and celebrating—I think we're doing just fine.
My new year actually starts at the tenth
To me, each person has their own New Year. Some celebrate it when the clock hits twelve on December 31th—and some of them celebrate when it genuinely feels like a new year, new chapter to be written.
I celebrate it not at the first, but the tenth. The reason prolly lies on fact how we started talking in January, most definitely because I want to celebrate our love more than anything. Never have it crossed my mind, the thought of having you as my lover. I thought.. "Yes, this person's cute and hilarious. We'd make a great pair of friends," as I wasn't quite sure I was capable of being in a relationship. I experienced a lot of bounce backs. It was unpleasant and had me pondering whether I would ever be enough or not. Surprisingly enough, I didn't get to swallow that kind of pill when I was talking to you. I grew comfortable, as well as my feelings toward you. And the funny thing is.. I wasn't even realizing when you managed to hold my heart in possession—until that one embarrassing moment only two of us should know.
Everything happens for a reason. As cliché as the quote goes to my ears, I believe some big bumps, whether it's embarrassing, frustrating or saddening, meant to happen in order to let our relationship reach the stage we step on right now. I also believe how both of us have handled things well despite all. My gratitude extends to the wonderful time we have together. You have been filling my days with so much laughter and love, comforting me every time I experience meltdown. Thus, for the ups and downs, I am genuinely grateful it happened.. and forever will be if our faith to each other remains unschatched.
Thank you for being the reason why I celebrate New Year on January 10th.
I love you, my ribbit.

Little runaway, the world's never easy
You're so good being down on yourself
And the fog makes it harder to see me
You don't know where to reach out for help
Oh, you're gold, but you don't even know it yet
We could go, maybe both forget
Won't you come, and we can stare at the stars?
And look at the comets from the roof of my car
Little runaway, I know it's been hard
You're trying your best, but you keep falling apart
There's a universe in front of us
That knows how small we are
Won't you come, and we can stare at the stars?
From the roof of my car
You could hide from everyone, but I'd know you
Put your pain on me any day
Though you'd still have some trauma to go through
I'll make it easier for you to see the way
Oh, you're gold, but you don't even know it yet
We could go, maybe both forget
Won't you come, and we can stare at the stars?
And look at the comets from the roof of my car
Little runaway, I know it's been hard
You're trying your best, but you keep falling apart
There's a universe in front of us
That knows how small we are
Won't you come, and we can stare at the stars?
From the roof of my car
Uh, oh, oh, oh-oh
Ooh-ooh-ooh
Mm-hmm
Won't you come? We can stare at the stars
And look at the comets from the roof of my car
Little runaway, I know it's been hard
You're trying your best, but you keep falling apart
Lay your problems right here, let them all disappear
From the roof of my car
Not necessarily means that I can drive a car, but hey.. the sentiment still delivers, right? This is the first song that I sent to you. You asked me for a recommendation (agency's task) but I was blushing and all like a schoolgirl. I was mad happy when you took my words into account and ended up using the song. *blushes* I LOVE YOU BABYYYY!!!

Yes, Chef!
Lance had dabbled in a bit of everything for his content, but cooking that was a different beast. It all started when he tried making his "ultimate scrambled eggs" on camera. He expected it to be a quick, fun video, but instead, he ended up with a chaotic mess that barely looked edible. Unfortunately, the post caught the attention of none other than Gordon Ramsay himself. A harsh comment from the chef hit Lance's feed, calling his dish "an absolute disaster". Mortified but motivated, Lance decided he better learn the real art of cooking.
A few days later, he came across an ad for a cooking bootcamp hosted by Keittiomestari, a renowned Finnish restaurant. The two week intensive promised hands on training with professional chefs, and surprisingly he managed to secure a spot among 30 participants. Lance soon realized he wasn't the only amateur in the mix. Some students had culinary school backgrounds, while others, like him, were just there to learn the basics.
The first day was overwhelming. They jumped right into knife skills and it was way harder than it looked on TV. Lance nicked his finger more than once, but he kept at it. They spent hours on technique, moving from prepping vegetables to breaking down meats. The chefs were tough but fair, and Lance appreciated their patience with his rookie mistakes.
Midway through the camp, the challenge began. Each participant had to recreate a classic Finnish dish using traditional ingredients like reindeer meat, lingonberries, and smoked fish. Despite his nerves, Lance managed to create something passable, with a little coaching from his new friend. They bonded over their kitchen disasters and encouraged each other through each round.
By the final day, Lance could actually hold his own in the kitchen. They had one last task: to prepare a meal on their own. Lance went with a sushi and pizza fusion. After a few hiccups, he managed to serve it up just as the timer buzzed.
As he plated the dish and presented it to the chefs, he felt a surprising sense of pride. Two weeks ago, he wouldn't have known where to start, but now he cooked an entire meal, start to finish. To his surprise, he received positive feedback.
Back home, Lance uploaded a new video, titled "From Kitchen Disaster to Keittiomestari." And though he still had a long way to go, he couldn't wait to see where this newfound passion would take him.
