I feel I must remind some, that I do not condone the actions of this character written; his actions do not reflect the writer of this blog. He is an antagonist, and villain to some --though tragic, but still a villain in his own right and a monster in most light. Yes he is a powerful and ancient entity. This does not mean he goes without weaknesses that can nearly render him powerless and weaken him enough, reducing him less than yer average man.

"Make enough of a problem of yourself, and certain people will decide it's not worth the effort." Not all the time, but some of it. "Mortals, especially. The point is to buy enough time to get away," he shrugged, waved a hand. It was basic, really. Buying time didn't exactly help when faced with another vampire, but still.

"We're not exactly a common problem, lass." As far as he could tell, nowadays. They were around, certainly- if he cared to look, he was sure he could find the underworld of them here. Overall, it would seem as if vampires had gotten smarter with their existence lately. (The likelihood he was banned was high, anyway.) "The point is more to make a scene, the chance whoever's harassin' you will continue to do that when there's more people comin' is low." He had seen it, heard of it- managed to use it to his advantage a handful of times. "Doesn't even need to be a knife or anythin'. A ring would work." Paired with a shrug, as if it wasn't a big deal. Perhaps that was enough to distract from the fact he wasn't going to answer the last question.

"What... do you want me to do? Slap you? Scratch you? Isn't that just making sure that you would kill me? Why would you let someone who fought back so violently live?" Calondra pointed out, her legs shaking as her hands struggled to stay still in front of her. Was he really mocking her for not being prepared to fight a vampire? Was this something she was supposed to just have expected to happen?

"W-wait... are you telling me how to fight other vampires?" Calondra gasped at the realization. He really was trying to help her protect herself from his kind. But why? Wasn't that just making it dangerous to be a vampire... not that anyone could call Calondra dangerous.

" ... Why? Why would you help me?"

He wasn't exactly worried about the inhabitants of where he now found himself, sure of the tricks he held up his own sleeves. The summons had been unexpected, regardless. He'd take it over other places he could be.

Teague offered a smile, a bow- theatric, if one paid enough attention. "Not exactly somethin' you can help," he could worry about getting the smell off his clothes later, once he had left. (He could be somewhere worse.) "A delightful little place you've got here, but I must say I'm curious as to why I got an invitation." As he straightened back up.

he never met one before. he only read about vampires in books, but he wasn’t sure if what he read was true. “ thanks for coming over, i am sorry if the wolf smell is getting to you.” he said. this island is full of wolves. people who can become wolves & back and forth.

That was an effect he tended to have on people. It usually meant he was doing something right. He could also just as easily change that. (He wasn't sure he wanted to- yet.)

Teague raised a brow, offered a grin. "Am I now?" There were many hymns he half remembered, could no longer verbalize. He extended a hand, hovering near her chin as if to tilt it toward him. "Did you want it to continue?"

Just a note on character resistance...

Just because my muse resists something, doesn’t mean I don’t want you to do it. I’ll happily let my muse be abused in many ways. But that doesn’t mean I’m just gonna have them roll over, especially if they’re fairly powerful. But don’t take their resistance as a sign that I want you or your muse to stop.

I’m making this because I sometimes feel like people think when my muse resists, it’s a sign for them go back off. It’s not. If I am not comfortable with something, I’ll tell you OOC. If I said go for it, I mean just that.

On the flip side, if my muse is ever being too difficult, please, let me know, and I’ll do my best to correct that.

((So I wanted to play around with the concept of a vampire who wasn't all that hung up on the taste of blood. Yeah, he could make up something about it, if he really had to. But given that he didn't want to be a vampire in the first place, it feels like it makes more sense he doesn't

Well, this was just pathetic. He probably should have accepted that sooner. Teague let out a groan, straightened up. "Y'could at least try to fight back, lass." As he slid back a step, raked a hand through his hair. "That's not goin' to stop anyone." She was just lucky, this time. (He didn't care to kill if he didn't have to, anyway.) (He could wait longer before feeding.)

"It's very hard to convince someone to stop with words alone," oh, didn't he know that. It was always what he tried first, but he could still resort to force if he needed to. "Take some self-defense classes or somethin'," as he waved a hand, dismissive. "The world's a dangerous place, especially with us runnin' around." He supposed, actually- "Or at least carry somethin' silver with you." It would really only help if she found herself facing a vampire, but it was something.

"... I don't have a reason... I am just asking it of you." Calondra hated the words as soon as they slipped from her lips. She knew how pathetic it sounded, like a doe begging for mercy from the wolf. He was right - she had nothing to offer in return.

"I help people. There are some who rely on me. If I was dead... they would suffer." It was the best she had and even Calondra knew it was not enough in the face of what may be a predator.

Two twin rivers formed on her cheeks as she stared back at the vampire, waiting for her demise. Would it hurt? Sometimes in the stories, vampires did something to the victim to make it more pleasant, but Calondra doubted she could rely on stories for comfort...
