Where to stay When visiting Bromo Ijen Tour from Malang, you can stay in one of the following three cities; Malang, Surabaya or Probolinggo. Surabaya is the furthest from brom. It is a 90-minute drive from Surabaya to Mount Bromo. Malang is quite close. It is a 60-minute drive from Malang to Mount Bromo. Probolinggo actually gave Mount Bromo.
