🏷️ N O T E S O N L O V E 🏷️ Review time! (mild spoilers? Maybe) Overall: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice level: 🌶️🌶️/5 It's no secret that I'm a sucker for the grumpy/sunshine trope and this book delivers Seth has just come back to his father's company after having his heart obliterated. He had been travelling the world and living it up (read: sleeping around). He meets Kiran who is the very embodiment of sunshine. At first, he's extremely annoyed at her sunny disposition, but soon grows to like having her around. We learn that she is married and has 2 boys, who come first - always. She has a seemingly fairytale life and Seth's seems to be the opposite. We then learn what secret Kiran has been hiding, and makes Seth pursue her more, because he's become a little addict 😊 An HEA is guaranteed! Please read the trigger warnings before reading this book. Mentions of suicide. Cannot wait for the other brothers! I think my favourite is Aiden, so far. 💫 O F T R U T H S A N D B O N D S 💫 Review with spoilers 😬 (2nd slide is my favourite quote by Grayson) *swoon* Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 (I did clutch my pearls a few times and whispered: "Oh my...") I've been sitting on this review for a few days now, mainly because that cliffhanger was brutal. I finished this book in 2 days (!!!) I was that invested This is a continuation of Of Gods and Monsters by @zavi_james and follows Quentin as she navigates Elysian politics and all its complexities. We go deeper into the characters we love and love to hate to understand them a bit better. While all of these things are happening, Quentin's life hangs in the balance because she's a demi-god and Elysia has had its fair share of demi-god problems. The chemistry between Quen and Gray is just 🤌🏼 and it sort of introduces a bit of BDSM with a collar - hence the pearl clutching. I haven't felt emotionally invested in characters and characters ARCS for a long time and I have to say that this book has changed that. I've waited 7 months for this book to be released and I'm so glad I found the first one...and sobbing because I have to wait for the 3rd one. Just a PSA, I still hate Hunter and I want to bash him over the head with something heavy. 🗡️ T H E M I N D F * C K S E R I E S 🗡️ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (forgot I was reading vibes) Spice level: 🌶️🌶️/5 I have just finished all 5 books in 3 days and let me just say: Whoa! This book is written in first person from Lana Myers' perspective. 10 years ago, tragedy struck and now she's out for blood. You learn pretty early on, page 2, that she's a serial killer who has a kill list and she's making her way down the list with the help of her friend, Jake. He's also connected to the tragedy 10 years ago, and together they make an amazing team. Think Penelope Garcia and Derek Morgan from Criminal Minds...just more sinister. She ends up dating Logan Bennett of the FBI who is hunting her but they both don't know it. I want to put so many details in but, for the life of me, I cannot separate them. Like, I said, I read all 5 books in 3 days and they kinda bled into one another. It's an incredibly easy story to follow and well-written to the point that you can empathise with every character. It's very difficult to make you feel something for a serial killer, let me tell you! You want her to win! We find out that she has dyslexia and he knew about it all along and made changes to company policy to make things easier for her. I'm the biggest sucker for #EnemiesToLovers and #OneBedTrope and this one delivered. Josh Chen is a resident at a local hospital and Jules Ambrose is a lawyer waiting to write her Boards. Jules is Ava's (Josh's sister) best friend and they've all known each other for 7 years, since their freshman year of college and they have been besties ever since. Josh absolutely hates Jules and thinks she's a bad influence on Ava, and as the protective older brother; he makes that very clear. unfortunately for him, Jules gives as good as she gets and the *tension* builds to the inevitable. Some dark secrets are revealed and that causes them to break it off momentarily until they realise that they're better together than apart. You know the drill.
