Chadwick knew he had a limited amount of time left on this earth so he lived every single day to the fullest. He made five fantastic movies, brought a king to life on our screens, marched in the streets for the rights of so many people, and married the woman he loved. 

Don’t just remember Chadwick for the movies he made. Remember him for the incredible man that he was. Because he lived. He lived.

I’m thinking a lot about how there was an internet joke for a while that Chadwick Boseman was getting sick of doing “Wakanda forever” bc he occasionally looked tired or unenthused in pics. Knowing now how much he was suffering through and how tired he must have been, I’m thinking about those pictures again. He really continued to bring people happiness and make art through cancer diagnosis and treatment. Celebrity deaths are so strange and it’s always a unique sadness and I never feel quite entitled to my sadness. Like, I didn’t know him. But he brought me a lot of joy and I just want to acknowledge that. Wishing him and his family peace

Lupita Nyong’o, Boseman’s co-star and love interest in “Black Panther,” described his career choices as those of a socially conscious history buff. She recalled a working session with the film’s director, Ryan Coogler, and Boseman that he turned into a mini lecture on the ancient Egyptian iconography and spiritual customs that had informed the original comic book.

“He’s very keen to put human experiences in historical context,” she said. “Even with a world that was make-believe, he wanted to connect it to the world that we know and could try to understand.”

One wonders if, as a result of his travels in the shoes of moral giants, Boseman has evolved an occupational shorthand — a secret posture, gaze or pattern of speech — that can invest any character with ineffable dignity.

Asked the question at the restaurant, he seemed to turn it over in his mind, as if he wanted to give it a fair shake.

“They can put the clothes on you,” he allowed, finally, after a long pause. A wry smile fanned across his face — both rows of teeth, steady eye contact. “But then you’ve gotta wear ’em.”

The projects that I end up doing, that I want to be involved with in any way, have always been projects that will be impactful, for the most part, to my people — to black people. To see black people in ways which you have not seen them before. So Black Panther was on my radar, and in my dreams.

non-lip kisses are my absolute favorite. absentmindedly kissing the back of someone’s palm as you hold hands. chaste forehead kisses and brushes against their cheek. silly boops on the nose. kissing fluttering eyelashes. neck kisses that barely touch skin but are no less passionate. kisses on collar bones or exposed tummies. sloppy kisses at the corners of someone’s mouth. kissing each and every fingertip with a delicate touch.
