“I’m prepared to write off the $10,000 debt but not 50, because I don’t think I have the authority to do it,” Biden said in a CNN town hall.

Just to be clear, he never campaigned on forgiving ALL student debt but a portion of it. He is being lobbied to forgive all of it and the Dept of Education is researching the president’s ability to do that.

I hope he does forgive ALL student debt but that is not what he promised.

As for Pelosi- I gave no idea why she muddied up the waters.

How’s everybody feeling about how Biden ran a platform of “I’m going to forgive student loans” only for a year in to not only say he’s not going to do that but having that hobgoblin Pelosi who championed him the entire Election say “we knew he couldn’t do that because only Congress can pass debt forgiveness. Sorry no take backs”

This is not correct. Biden didn’t campaign on this and he has been lobbied to forgive student loans. A final decision has not been made. Just yesterday the senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer, said it would be a good day for Biden to do it.
