A- anyway, now that I think about it, I mostly hung out with Peso and Shellington all day, at least until the Octo Alert went off, so I must've not heard about it since I was doing other things!

Actually, it's really convenient that we initially didn't have any work today... Must've been related.

They were originally called Butchers before they were renamed Mimics because they hides in like furnitures and mannequins. If they enough humans, they’ll become human like. Eat too many humans, they’ll become an elder mimic

The midnight zone? Yeah, I've been down there a few times now, not too often. (I really wanted to go when Shellington was looking for new creatures down there, but I stayed behind T-T) I hadn't brought any devices down there, but I imagine trying to use wifi down there would not be easy... It's been a bit since we've gone down there, so maybe we'll go back down soon?

All of the gups are super reliable and durable! The most that happens in the case of a crash is that what makes them go breaks. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't crashed one before 😓 I'd also be lying if I said that was the only time! but yeah the gups are built to handle everything! including the midnight zone!

Oh, and I'm guessing you're talking about Tweak? She's a great mechanic! She built all the gups! We, uh, also frequently debate whether classic or modern video games are better 😅 (All in good fun though, we try eachother's games all the time.) I know that wasn't much but I could tell you more about her another time if you'd like!

Also, we've got water filters, so we're all perfectly hydrated! (It'd be really silly if we didn't...)

The other day, I found a transcript of the job interview I had when I applied to become a Octonaut! Looking back at it, I remembered how nervous I was T-T

The questions asked were pretty simple, basically just "are you sure you can handle this" questions, like a primarily kelp based diet, how well I'd be able to handle living underwater, etc. (I was actually referred to a teacher for classes on underwater diving, or something along those lines. I only barely passed that...)

I was able to ask if I'd bring my game console onboard during that interview, and I remember Barnacles had actually chuckled a bit when I asked, and he said it was alright.

I had basically no experience going in, I still have no idea how I was brought on. If I'm being honest, I kind of expected that I'd drown on the first day. 😭

I think I already went into this before, but Shellington is the best! He knows so much about marine life! I always love hearing his rambles about any sea creature! Not to mention, while I was waiting for the storage room to be fully cleared out, he let me sleep in his lab in the meantime! (Although, considering he constantly works at night, I frequently helped him out, so I didn't get that much sleep...) He's great to be around, and really friendly. ...Maybe a bit cute. I like him a lot!

I... can't say I know you, although, isn't philology related to language? Or something? I know quite a few languages, actually! Infact, Shellington's been helping me out with learning Vegimalese since I expressed interest!

So, fun fact about my room, Obviously, when you're dealing with electronics underwater, you wouldn't want them to get anywhere near water. I honestly wasn't sure how bringing this console on board would fare, especially since the Octopod could flood, and we've actually needed to flood it before. Luckily, I didn't need to worry about a thing!

In my room, there's a small section that rolls up a barrier when the Octopod is being flooded. Originally, it was supposed to protect the few non waterproof items in the storage room, but that's all been moved now. So, when I moved in, it was just the right amount of space to set up my console! (They actually already had a TV in the barrier area as a backup for other screens, so I get to use it!)

That being said, it ain't perfect. I've had to get that setup repaired a few times now... I've got it all waterproofed as much as possible, but sometimes they will still break.

The vegimals on board are just so cute! Shellington has actually been teaching me how to understand them. It's super amazing that they have their own language! I wanna know everything there is to know about Vegimalese!
