so rachel or alex? i forget which said there are two endings to the show and a crew guy who is active on reddit kinda clarified that saying that one ending is “post script” or more of an epilogue.

i’m pretty confident that last scene will be midge and susie making up in the future? they’re really pushing how important smidge is and how it’s the real love story in the press so I feel like they’ve basically already confirmed that the show will end with them.

what really confuses me is i would’ve assumed that the “first” ending would’ve been midge performing in some capacity and us finally getting “the marvelous mrs. maisel” but apparently midgelenny comes after that???

it seems kinda crazy to me that a midgelenny scene would follow what is arguably what everyone has been waiting for since the pilot lol maybe it cuts to them and then cuts back to her performing?

well… found another piece to the midgelenny puzzle on instagram

i’m putting it under a cut because i don’t want anyone to be spoiled if that’s something they’re easily concerned about so enter at your own risk!

this is from the finale and captioned as midge’s final monologue of the show. she’s made it on camera at gordon ford. for the first time? or does it happen sooner? anyway, scene 46 and it’s still 60s midge.

remember that the chinese restaurant scene is number 48.

so, if the instagram caption is correct then the midgelenny flashback comes after midge doing her final standup set. hmmm.

When do you think Lenny’s stand up set that we saw in the NYT will be in the finale?

not sure! interested in what other people think. my understanding is that he just has those two scenes so it perplexes me a bit. if it matches up with the real lenny set it’s 1965 which is the future but not TOO far… i wonder if the whole ep is set around then?

wherever it is, i’m pretty confident it’s before the chinese restaurant. i think we’re leaving lenny and midgelenny on a “happy” note.

do you think it’s lenny reading a fortune to midge or vice versa

IF this is actually a thing (lol) i think it would have to be lenny reading a fortune to/for midge. it’s her journey that we’re following, not lenny’s. we know where he’s going sadly. it would make even more sense to me because the scene comes pretty late in episode i figured out. i noticed almost immediately when we got this photo from set

bottom left corner “scene 48” i did some research (thx reddit) and most hour long shows will have a scene number count somewhere in the 40s. now i don’t think it’s THE end because that’s too good to be true but it has to be close to it?

what better way to close out midge’s story than to see the person who truly believed in her and understood her tell her that she’ll succeed? come on, asp!!

coming out of lurking around to present my chinese restaurant theory that I’m not sure has been mentioned yet?

minimal lenny screentime means I’ve had plenty of time myself to obsessively look at the new york times photos lol

this photo in particular i think tells some stuff

i saw some people talk about the pen and how he might be giving her notes which makes sense imo but this is what caught my eye

that’s obv a fortune from a fortune cookie and I feel like whatever it says could have some sort of connection to the midgelenny relationship and/or midge’s future. everything feels, as luke would say, “meant to be” with them and this would be another way to show that even in a silly little fortune.

and why flash back to this moment? does she keep the fortune and we see her with it in a flashfoward? or she opens a fortune cookie and thinks about him?

anyways watch it have no significance to the scene and just be a prop on the table lol but thought I’d share
