closer than you know

i've been working on this painting for over 3 months and i am exhausted 💀 so excited to be done with it. i'm really proud of it though!! it's definitely the most detailed painting i've done in quite some time.

I was watching Pokémon: Indigo League on Netflix and the Pokédex called Kakuna a “transitional Pokémon”

and then suddenly this happened

in ireland i lived with 8 coworkers in a little house built of mold with a 2x2 sq. inch kitchen and bc we all got off work at the same time every day at the seal center we also all made dinner at the same time and one night as i was brushing elbows with someone at the stove while someone reached around my head to grab a mug and someone else asked me to move my leg so they could get into a cabinet, I smelled the smells of everyone’s different dinners made by people from different continents and I was brimming with the joy of togetherness so I said “this is my favorite part of the day 🥰🥰🥰” and everyone looked at me in equal parts humor and outright disdain and they were all like “this sucks. this is hell. this is objectively the worst part of everyone’s entire day.”

so anyway I know I would have thrived in the phantom of the opera orchestra pit until someone inevitably beat me to death with my own instrument

if fallout 76 really is a world where “every character is a real person” & there’s no NPCs im making it my civic duty to be like this lowly tavern barkeep and then once i’ve established enough of a rapport i’m going to nuke all of west virginia and it will be in character

“she should be at the club” “but not everybody can handle loud music / likes going out / enjoys drinking / wants to—“ YOURE MISSING THE POINT. “she should be at the club” is not about the literal club!! it’s about the whimsy of youth!! it’s about the things you can get away with, body and mind!! it’s about having fun and ignoring the horrors for as long as you can!! it’s about the fact that you do not deserve to feel this pain and have these responsibilities, you do not deserve to be locked in your room with your sadness, you deserve to enjoy the music and the pretty lights and the ass shaking of life!!! it’s about how i wish joy for you, even if you do not wish it for yourself!!! you should be at the club!!!!
