Alrighty so, I’ve seen a shit load of posts saying that movies since AOU have been making fun of Bruce & Nat’s relationship. And honestly, I just wanna laugh. Because…like how? So instead of another post like that, here’s a positive post how the other movies only encourage it.

Civil War

There’s only about 10 seconds where Nat directly talks about Bruce in this movie. While Tony and Nat are trying to build their team, Tony asks, “It would be great to have the Hulk. Any shot?” That’s where this face comes in.

Many people interpret this as the Russos ended that storyline right there. But how? All she did was give a little smile because hey, Bruce. For me, it was a bittersweet smile. She’s saying, No. I know we both miss him, but there’s no way he would join us even if we know where he is.” That’s just a quick moment.

Thor: Ragnarok

Haters love to shit on them after this movie. Apparently, innocent Thor attempting the lullaby is attack Bruce & Nat? The failed lullaby? This scene?

Personally, I thought this scene was hilarious. For one, it’s a callback to Hulk’s attack on Loki in the first Avengers. And second, the lullaby failed because HE’S NOT NAT. Thor didn’t quite understand that part. The lullaby was all about the trusting relationship between Nat and Bruce/Hulk. Assuming so, Thor wasn’t close to either one of them prior to Ragnarok. Of course it’s not gonna work. This scene for me was for comedy value for Thor, not the Bruce & Nat relationship. Also, let’s not forget this part.

Hulk turns back into Bruce because of the sight of Nat. Bruce overpowered him because he heard her voice. In what way does this not encourage their relationship? It’s also good to note that Nat was literally the first person Bruce asked about besides Thor’s hair.

Infinity War

Despite being in the same scene for almost half of the movie, there was almost nothing between them. Except for this reunion scene.

It was exactly was Sam said. Awkward. Of course it was. These two are terrible at expressing their emotions. Bruce is getting shy and Nat just softly smiled. But there’s nothing that says that don’t care about each other anymore. It was more of a confirmation to each other that they’re alive. They didn’t talk much, maybe they did off-screen, but it’s not the time to talk about their relationship. There’s a big-ass enemy coming for the universe.

Regardless, all of these are interpretations. But there was been nothing for me that ended this storyline. I can only see it be more encouraged in Avengers 4.

Welcome home my home

He smell the lavender scent of the candle that they bought in their last vacation in Maldives.
