‘The proof of the pudding is in the eating’
A two minute read for busy professionals to start their day (Monday-Friday) with something positive, inspiring and thought provoking. It’s been my habit over the years that when I’m alone, out shopping or running errands, and I’m approached by someone asking for money, I respond, “what do you need the money for?” It’s almost always the case they respond, “for food.” With that response I offer to…

Buttercups and Rainbows
A two minute read for busy professionals to start their day (Monday-Friday) with something positive, inspiring and thought provoking. Throughout my life I’ve witnessed Gods hand on me. I had rheumatoid arthritis as a teenager to the point I couldn’t bend my knees or fingers. God completely healed me and I haven’t had an issue since. So, when I came across this beautiful story (which was verified…

“But wait, there’s more!”
“But wait, there’s more!”
There have been times in my life where I was desperate to see Gods hand. I needed to make a decision and “wait” was not the answer I was looking for. I find that waiting is much more difficult than hearing a firm, “No”. At least with a no, there is a finality to the situation. It’s over…I can move on.  As a grandparent it’s much easier to tell one of my little treasures (teen treasures too) no,…

Belated Happy New Year!
Belated Happy New Year!
I know it’s the 4th of January, and I certainly should have said this a few days ago. Forgive me…lol. I’m excited to see what God has in store for 2023. I hope you are as well. It’s been a joy writing a daily blog (Monday-Friday) this past year. Once I have 360 blogs written, I will begin the process of publishing them. I’ve learned so much about about myself and how Gods Word is as relevant…

“Radiate his passion, and blaze…”
“Radiate his passion, and blaze…”
I’ve always been a fan of history. Especially war history. WWII in particular. The world was being threatened by a monster. Hitler steamrolled through Europe conquering country after country. It seemed inevitable that Great Britain would fall. One man summoned the courage of a nation and stood firm against insurmountable odds.  Winston Churchill’s famous words, “ …we shall fight on beaches,…

Victory begins with the first step…
Victory begins with the first step…
When I became a Christian many years ago, I was told that I needed to read the Bible. It was from the Bible that I would gain understanding of what my new life entailed. I went to a local Christian bookstore and after looking through numerous Bibles, I purchased a Ryrie study Bible. Over the years I’ve written in the margins, underlined or highlighted passages. I’m able to look back through the…

It’s the ‘And’ we always forget…
It’s the ‘And’ we always forget…
When I first accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, there was an instant change inside my heart. Where there was once pain, intense anger and loneliness was now joy, acceptance and love beyond anything I had ever experienced. I was healed from the inside out. I walked out of the church service absolutely glowing and my feet felt like they weren’t touching the ground. Each conversion experience is…

“In the Morning, Deep calls to Deep.”
“In the Morning, Deep calls to Deep.”
There have been times in my life where I have been desperate to hear someone’s voice. When Russia invaded Ukraine, the whole world took a breathe. My youngest son who is serving in the 82nd Airborne was in Poland, just a few miles from the Ukrainian boulder. He was not able to communicate with us. We only had the news to tell us what was going on. My wife and I were total wrecks. All we wanted…

Love at a different level…
Love at a different level…
When my wife, Janet and I were first married, we decided to wait for a while before having children. We were both young and wanted to live a carefree lifestyle. After two years we decided we were ready for children. Shortly after, my daughter Jessica and then our son Scott were born. We were a very happy family but I was in sales at the time and money was very tight. It was Christmas time and we…

A Life…Well Lived.
The word “Legacy”, and the phrase, “a life well lived”, both gain  more meaning the older I get. I don’t believe 63 is old. I still compete against 20 something’s in tennis. I loved the look a young man who is on a college tennis team gave me when he asked me how old I was…lol. Priceless! I was recently asked if I could go back in time and pick a point to relive my life again, where would I go?…

The True Gift…
I was privileged to whiteness the birth of all three of my children. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. The joy I feel is immeasurable. We will be celebrating the birth of Jesus in just two days. I can’t imagine what was going through Gods mind as he witnessed his son being born…knowing that his only son would willingly take upon the sins of the world and be brutally sacrificed as…

Arby’s & Orange Chicken joined in the chorus…
Arby’s & Orange Chicken joined in the chorus…
This remarkable event took place 12 years ago and (now) over 55 million people have watched the youtube clip of unsuspecting shoppers getting the surprise of their life while eating lunch. A young woman, seemingly enjoying her lunch in a food court, stands up, appears to be on her mobile phone, and begins singing the ‘Hallelujah’ chorus. All around her, over 100 (clearly prearranged) opera…

Remember my hands…
Growing up, I don’t recall my moms or my dads hands. That’s a strange thing, isn’t it? I mean, I can remember almost everything else about them…including their feet, lol. I don’t recall being held, hugged or one of them holding my hand. I know my parents loved me. They just had trouble with the physically of it. There isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not hugging, or holding one of my children…

We Win, or We Learn (Grow)
We Win, or We Learn (Grow)
What battles are you fighting in your life? Temptation? Anxiety? Fear? Depression? Employment? Financial battles? Health battles? Relationship battles? A dear friend of mine has been struggling to build a business for the last four years. He’s done everything he could to keep staff employed and bills paid. Little by little cuts had to be made. In an attempt to keep paying his staff he cut his…

Spiritual Erosion
It seems to me the older I get, the more evil I see in the world. Good has been a mighty rock blocking a relentless torrent of water (evil) from flooding in. The rock seemed indestructible and immovable. However, over the years the rock, little by little, has been eroded by the constant pressure of the water. The once mighty rock is now allowing evil to begin pouring in. Good people have become…

Like oil on my head…
Like oil on my head…
I started my mortgage career at a national bank. Later, when NMLS licensing was established, I had moved from originating loans to management so I didn’t need an NMLS license. When my son decided to join me in the business we studied and took the test together. Both of us passed on our first attempt. The test is difficult. Less than 50% pass on the first try. It’s been a joy to work side-by-side…
