Had my parents ever pulled that “lock you outside for missing curfew” shit then there wouldve been WW3 because I would’ve made a FANTASTIC show of breaking a window to get inside and screaming at them until my lungs caved (and returning any swings that would come my way oh boy) like HELL NO.

I’ve gone BUCK WILD on my parents for giving me permission to do something and then trying to rescind it, and they have given that permission back. Why? Because, oh magical parents, you should make your fucking mind up the first time around and not give your kid the chance to get excited just to rip that away from them.

I’ve always gotten some kind of gift for a report card. Why? Because excellent academics should be fucking rewarded–school is my “job,” so pay me with something more than that little letter on a piece of paper and I’ll keep the train rolling.

Sometimes, parents, YOU WILL BE WRONG, and I have stood my ground and let my parents know that nothing they will try can stop me. Why? Because some things (like Christian witchcraft) are important to me and I will not let ANYONE get in the way of what I believe in.

And I’d like to tell you, you bunch of God forsaken teenagers who never grew up and shouldn’t have children,

1. My parents and I have a phenomenal relationship. Like, I’m the only one in my friend group who has this kind of relationship–one where we all speak to each other as adults, value each other’s ideas, treat each other equally, and give each other the space and respect we deserve (as well as call each other out when something stupid happens, and make up after our spats).

2. They raised someone with a crystal clear sense of self, someone educated, disciplined, hard working, and who takes absolutely no shit from anyone, someone working 2 jobs, someone who doesn’t like partying and wasting time, someone who hasn’t gotten less than an A- in college and who plans to go to grad school, someone with dreams bigger than life itself.

3. JUST BECAUSE YOUR KID CALLS YOU OUT ON YOUR IDIOTIC FUCKSHIT, DOESN’T MEAN THEY’RE DISRESPECTFUL :)))))))) I mean, hell yeah I could’ve been nicer with you here in this post, but you don’t deserve it. You need to be put in your fucking place–as a human being that makes mistakes and has absolutely NO RIGHT to act like God when it comes to your kids. What the fuck, you absolute piss poor examples of parenting. You know how many parents I’ve seen take even a BREATH of disagreement as disrespect? Who the fuck do you think you are? Honestly, who?

God, parenting these days is a horrid wreck. It’s either way too lax, or it’s way too wild. FIND BALANCE OR DON’T HAVE FUCKING KIDS. Your kids don’t owe you ANY FUCKING GRATITUDE WHEN YOU BRING THEM INTO THIS WORLD JUST TO HOLD SHIT AS BASIC AS FOOD AND SHELTER OVER THEIR HEAD.
