The revelation that Earth died in 2025, but the interstellar song contest is directly derived from the Earth Eurovision is just, So Funny to me. Like, the idea that centuries ago, Aliens found a dessicated husk of a planet, and crawled through all the memory banks available, trying to piece together a rich culture, and they found Eurovision and were like 'oh, we NEED to reboot this puppy' is hilarious. This is the 803rd Interstellar Song Contest, set in 2925. Suggesting that not only did they recreate the actual event, but the whole universe now follows 'Before Common Era' 'Common Era' dating. Also suggests that as of 2025, Rylan is the only survivor of humanity, and that he was in a cryogenic chamber, came out to find the Earth gone, and made no changes to his career, and that Graham Norton has already agreed to sell his likeness specifically for holograms.

Anyway, be sure to boycott Eurovision, but be sure to watch Ncuti Gatwa being camp and adorable.
