Chaeyoung was excited like a kid. On Christmas morning. She was like that everytime Taehyung was taking a new step forward. She was so proud of him and what he achieved already. He made so much progress since they met. No matter what he was thinking about himself, she knew how strong he was, how hard it was to just wake up every day and get out of bed...

But today, they were aiming for something lighter. Taehyung eventually agreed to go visit a shop and meet some puppies. Chaeyoung never had a pet but she loved them. Every now and then she would go to a pet café to spend some time with animals. No doubt that it would do her boyfriend good to adopt one.

“Sure!! I can’t wait to see the puppies!!! Do you have a breed in mind already?”

It was another day he finally will go out in daylight, with her. The have a special mission today. This treatment has been recommended to Taehyung since a year ago, but he never had the chance to really do it since he couldnt even go out to pick up the help was suggested. The help that his doctor suggested is for him to have a pet so that he could have a sense of companionship.

Maybe this treatment was a bit too late since he has found a better companion. But Taehyun always wanted a pet since he has been living alone. Ofcourse Chaeyoung come by every now and then, but eventually she would always have to come home. And he always feel especially lonely afterwards.

That is why he decided fully that he would get a pet. He didnt say it much, but Chaeyoung would definetly see that he was excited for it.

Taehyung would like to go to meet more people, especially her friends and family that he started to talk to random people to  get back his skill on communication. He would started to talk to the midnight convenience store staff, until talking to the postman that came to deliver packages to him just so that he get used to it even though in the end people were just looking at him while giving a weird look since he stuttered a lot. But that didnt really stop him to keep trying to talk to them.

She couldn’t help but smile as she saw his name pop up on her phone. She was always looking forward to conversations like this, as they couldn’t see each other every day. At least not face to face. But they would often text or send pictures or phone call, even late at night. She treasured that.

When she picked up, she saw his genuine smile and it immediatly made her smile as well. Seeing him happy and relaxed was always such a joy for the young girl. And it was happening more and more.

“Omo!! Such a cute little tree!! What a good idea! Do you have some decorations??” She sat back up in her bed to settle the phone and see him better.

This Christmas would be the first time he ever let himself to celebrate this festive time. Usually it always hurts him the most during this time because in the past, it was one of his favorite time to spend with his family.

Opening the package that he just brought in from outside he stared at it before taking it out – a small tree. He told himself, he should start doing things he used to d in the past, and even though his family was not there, it could be one of his way to remember them.

Actually he didnt want to bother his girlfriend either since she might want to spend time with her family. But at the same time he wanted to show her that he want to do this things to heal himself.

And so, he video called her instead.

Assuming she picked up the call he told her right away, “Look… I will challenge myself to decorate this tree. Lets hope I don’t burn it down instead” he said before turning his phone to show the mini tree inside the box.
