summary:
Eddie finally looks at Buck and the fear and sorrow that rages in the muddied storm waters of his eyes has Buck flinching slightly. He’s so used to Eddie’s eyes being sun kissed pools of rich coffee that draw you in with their warmth, making you feel safe.
“They’re all dead, they’re all dead, they’re all dead”.
Eddie whispers it over and over again and Buck doesn’t know what to do besides move closer and pull him into his arms. Eddie doesn’t fight him, just falls into the safety of Buck’s embrace, clutching tightly at his back as a broken sob falls from his mouth. Eddie continues to cry into Buck’s neck as Buck wraps his arms securely around him, a shield of flesh and bone attempting to protect Eddie from the horrors of whatever is haunting him.
“It’s okay. I’ve got you,” Buck murmurs into Eddie’s hair, his lips caressing the sweat soaked strands. “I’ve got you.”

Buck supports the Diaz boys after Eddie's breakdown, realising along the way that home really is where the heart is.

summary
Eddie wasn’t sure why he and Maddie weren’t close. It was strange, considering her little brother was the most important person in his life. Still, when the door opened, tight hugs were exchanged and cheerful welcome homes rang in his ears. “Does Bobby know? I gotta call Bobby!”, Chimney yelled.
“Could you wait a minute?”, Eddie interjected. His eyes darted between them for a moment and landed on Chim, deciding he was his best bet. “Maybe first explain to me why I went to see Buck and his loft was empty. Am I missing something? Did he move?”

summary:
“The harmony deepens, into something that can only be described as perfect, like a choir singing in perfect pitch and time. It’s not just magic- it’s them. For one perfect moment, their magic is in sync, as if they were made to fit together. A hint of a connection that could go beyond anything Buck has ever known.”
Or: The firehouse starts shipping Buck and Eddie harder than the rest of the team already does, magic, mayhem, and a few locked doors force them to figure out what everyone else has known all along: they’re soulmates.

Im not here
Guys I’m going on hiatus for a while.
My little brother was in an accident two days ago, since then I’ve been by his side in hospital rooms, crying in waiting rooms, praying to every god I know and begging the universe to not take him.
He suffered serious brain trauma and right now we’re just praying the swelling on his brain goes down and that he doesn’t ends up brain dead (that’s still a high risk at this point)
Not many of you know this but my brother is my world, and I need to focus on his health and recovery at the moment and I don’t think I’m gonna be checking this app in a while.
You guys can reach me on Discord @ .rawie
Every fic or prompt I was working on is also in permanent pause atm, until I can at least not lose my mind with worry.
Love u guys and I’ll miss u loads

Summary:
“It’s in two days, Chim! I’m not asking someone to help out two days before my rut. That’s just ridiculous.”
“I’m sure they’d both be fine with it. They love you.”
“I don’t think—” Eddie began, but he was interrupted by the voice of someone who didn’t usually engage in these conversations.
“I can do it.”
Chim whipped around to look at Buck, moving so quickly he nearly gave himself a whiplash. At the same time, Eddie sucked in a breath so sharply he choked on his own spit. As coughs wracked Eddie’s body, Hen rubbed his back. All four of them stared at Buck, incredulous.
“What”, Hen said.
“I can help him through it,” Buck clarified, fingers tight on his glass of beer. He didn’t meet Eddie’s eyes. “It would make sense.”
or, the one where Buck offers to help Eddie out by being his rut partner.

“sweet child, you are a blessing (poor child, you have been cursed)” by dumbdpaus!! @ayotofu here on Tumblr. It’s one of my favorite 9-1-1 fics literally had me in TEARS it is so good
Hi! This one is above the limit to get a post rec on its one but I'll leave the link here and the summary in case anyone wants to read it!
Read on Ao3
Summary
Every Blessing comes hand-in-hand with a Curse. If someone wants to be Blessed with money, or love, or life, someone else must be Cursed. When Daniel Buckley's cancer doesn't seem to be going away, despite the transplant from his little brother, Evan, his parents make a terrible, terrible choice.
They Bless Daniel, and they Curse Evan.
Twenty-two years later, Maddie and Daniel Buckley learn that their parents lied when they claimed that their baby brother died in a car accident. After two years of fruitless searching, they decide to make a podcast to see if anyone else can help them find him.
That same year, Evan Doe joins Firehouse 118. -- Evan Doe is not made to be loved.
He knows this. Everyone who meets him learns pretty quick, too. The Curse makes damn sure he doesn't have any wiggle room.
"You will lose everyone who loves you." He was always doomed to be alone.

summary:
The continent of Edrus is split into five countries, one for each species. Kyran belongs to the fae, Midrahi belongs to the humans, Vahlan belongs to the shapeshifters, Raelia belongs to the sari, and Dwerva belongs to the daemons. For centuries the five species have lived separately and somewhat peacefully. No one is allowed into a country that is not their home country, with the exception of members of the Order and traders chosen by each ruling government.
One tragic event brings together unlikely allies Eddie, fae soldier from Kyran, and Buck, human prince and future king of Midrahi. Together, along with their friends, they must uncover a dark secret about their world that has been hidden for too long, fight to keep one another alive, and work against an evil empire that has been hiding in the shadows ready to enslave any who don't bend to its will.
In the midst of crumbling kingdoms and dark masters, Eddie and Buck find something extraordinary together, but will they survive long enough to build something that lasts or will it all come crashing down around them?

summary
"How does it taste?”
Buck doesn’t need to be told twice, instantly digging his fork into the food. The noise Buck makes when he takes the first bite is obscene and Eddie nearly chokes on his own tongue at the sound of it.
“Is it safe to say you think it’s good?” Eddie asks.
“Good is underselling it by a mile. Holy shit, Eddie, you can cook. You make me and Bobby proud.”
Eddie rolls his eyes, but the praise still warms him from the inside out, starting in his chest and radiating to his other extremities. “Really? You think so?”
“Yes. Seriously, if you’re ever in the mood to cook something else, please allow me to be your taste tester.”
“Okay.” Eddie breathes out evenly. For the first time in a few weeks, he feels…calm. There’s no jitters, no restlessness, no prickle at the base of his neck, signaling an upcoming panic attack. Maybe he can invest a little more time and energy into this cooking thing. “Sounds like a plan.”
OR: With Christopher in El Paso, Eddie finds himself with too much idle time and the desire to channel it into something productive.
He cooks. Buck is supportive. They fall in love.

summary
Bet : to risk something of value for something of greater value.
A story about two men unwilling to gamble away everything they’ve built together until, with a little meddling from friends, Buck decides double or nothing may be worth the risk after all.
Set post season 7 but everything is back to how it should be.
****
Christopher is in bed and Eddie is considering his options for the remainder of the evening , they’re not particularly exciting options but it’s a serious choice nonetheless. As far as he sees it there’s the following to choose from; browsing Netflix and failing to find anything he wants to watch, going to bed embarrassingly early for a man his age and trying to finish chapter four of his book, again (hardly his fault if f he keeps falling asleep is it) or… and this is the really fun one, finally tackling that pile of paperwork he’s been ignoring for two full weeks now.

kilty pleasures

Summary
“What the hell are these?” Eddie asks with a quirked eyebrow, poking suspiciously at the tartan with his forefinger.
Buck flops himself into the chair beside Eddie and steals a sip from his coffee cup. “Kilts!” he says with a grin and he drags one off the table and holds it up to show Eddie. It’s long, and dark, and made out of what looks suspiciously like faux leather, and almost certainly purchased from a sex shop. “I thought we could wear them to the festival tomorrow!”
If Buck had a tail, it would be wagging so hard right now.
Or, Buck and Eddie discover they have kilt kinks.

Summary
And that’s why he finally notices it.
Eddie crossing his arms, curling on himself. Eddie holding his own wrist in the other hand, moving his thumb absentmindedly. Eddie sitting on the couch, gathering his legs to himself, resting his chin on his knees while his arms wrap around his thighs — clinging.
And Buck thinks, oh.
So, that’s how it starts.
Or, after Christopher leaves with his grandparents, Buck notices just how much touch-starved Eddie is — and decides to fix it.
