Buddy makes a show of looking down at where their feet was, taking a shuffled half-step backwards to let her know he was taking the required distance seriously.

( Not seriously at all, but he didn’t want to be on the receiving end of anything more than her boyfriend’s death stares. )

“Well noted, and you do look hot tonight.”

He had always been a fan of her in red.

“It’s been a minute,” He acknowledges, feeling a mild pang of guilt that he hadn’t done much to uphold his end of the bargain when they had agreed to be remain friends after the benefits had ended, “How’ve you been?”

Edie pauses to look over her shoulder to see if she's within Uly's eyeline -- and she was, as usual, she rarely ever wandered too far away from him at large social events just in case she very suddenly got sick of everyone and wanted to leave.

The scene was pretty overstimulating, so she was on the borderline.

She's baiting him and he almost rises to it, leaving his jaw tense as he had to make himself bite his tongue to refrain from making a bigger scene.

He exits the same way he had entered -- with little care and even less patience.

Up until yesterday, being alone with Scottie was his favourite thing to be.

Once it was just the two of them in the alley beside the club, he can't quell the anger he feels when he looks at her.

"You burn my fucking car out and then you block me everywhere," He doesn't make it sound like a question because he's not asking, he knows those were the facts, "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

Scottie teasingly winks before her exit from a VIP table of tech-bros that were stopping through town before some kind of a conference -- she was only half listening.

She was too busy feeling smug about how she would brag to Bora about bringing in business.

She's weaving her way through dancing bodies on the shortest path back to the bar to put in some drink orders when he path is cut off.

Her first thought is that he looks mad.

Her second thought is that he looks bad.

Her third thought is an internal scolding that she even cares about how he looks at all.

"I don't give a fuck about what anyone in this fucking club thinks of me," Scottie dares him with a brow arched.

"But for your pride, reputation, and the fact that you're looking pretty fucking crazy right now yourself, let's take this shit outside."
