Avant de partir Sameer nous a beaucoup aidé. Par email il a répondu à toutes mes questions très rapidement et a fait en sorte que tout soit prêt et clair lorsque nous arriverons au Nepal (en terme d'équipement, itinéraire, emploi du temps). Une fois sur place, on nous attendait et avons été reçus par Sameer et Shaurab pour un excellent diner local en compagnie de notre guide Dev, qui était notre compagnon parfait pour les 15 jours de trek qui ont suivi. Nous désirions faire le tour via Gokyo et Cho-La pass jusqu'a EBC. Sur place nous avons reçu un livret très précis expliquant tout concernant notre tour qui était crafté sur mesure. Ma compagne et moi ne sommes pas entrainés, mais nous avons pu faire l'intégralité du parcours qui était prévu y compris Gokyo-Ri (5350m), Cho-la Pass(5420m), EBC(5360m) et Kalapatthar (5630m). Aucune déception, uniquement que de la satisfaction. Cela nous a été possible grace aux conseils de notre guide qui sont indispensable si l'on se rend dans la region sans expérience. De plus notre tour n'était pas uniquement composé que de grands chemins tracés, mais aussi de voies sur glace et dans la neige qu'il nous aurait été impossible d'emprunter sans Dev. Nous sommes maintenant amoureux de la région et savons deja que nous reviendrons pour recommencer. Everest trekking is a dream of any avid adventurer, but just because you are not climbing Mount Everest, do not think that the hike to Everest Base Camp (EBC) is an easy undertaking. It’s so tough that at times you question your sanity and why you ever decided to do it. At other times you look at the scenery that’s so breathtakingly stunning and unlike any mountainous terrain that you have ever seen before – changing from lush green farmland, dense forest and glistening blue fast flowing rivers to barren land and glacial pools the higher you climb – that you realise it was a good decision. Kagbeni at 2840 m is a beautiful village and a green oasis in the middle of arid landscape. The village still practices a traditional Tibetan Buddhism and the lives of the people still revolves around folklores, magic and sorceries. The houses are closely packed and almost all made out mud and separated by narrow alley’s. The village is located in the confluence of Kali Gandaki and one another river, it has better teahouses as well as better facilities. Prayer flags runs throughout the village and the village also houses a 17th century, Tibetan style Chorten. Kagbeni is a village development committee and is the final village any foreigner can visit without any permits. This as well is the village from where trail branches to Muktinath and Upper mustang trek. #budgettrekking #mustang #kagbeni

We were at around 4800 meters from the sea level and breathless due to less oxygen. We reached the lake and when we did, we looked at each other, like good old days when we saw lake surrounded by pebbles, stones and rocks. We couldnt help ourselves and we started throwing stones. We wanted to see who was best in stone skipping. It really did not matter who won but in terms of refreshing and collecting memories we all did. #Gokyo #budgettrekking #nepal
